THIS IS HOW IT'S GONNA BE

Val ran head long into the shield that Newt had created, smashing his face slightly, causing his black fur to ruffle up. Damn.

He didn't want to turn back around, but he didn't want to face Mono. He... he just wanted Esca. Everything had been going great - hell, they'd kissed the day before this. And now she was gone, and he couldn't believe it. Val didn't know what to do anymore; tears pricked his eyes.

Shakily, he spoke up. "You better say something quick," he growled.

"More responsible than you, sweetheart," he said patronizingly, shooting Titan a glare and blinking at Kate. No, he didn't want water.

"I don't need water. Whiskey is good," Val grinned, pulling out the bottle and taking another long swig.

A slightly tipsy Val arrived, eyes dark and tired. He sat towards the back of the group, staring between the floor and the seashell. Valentine didn't want to make eye contact with anyone, he didn't want to speak to anyone. Not know anyway. They wouldn't bring Esca back.

The panther made eye contact with Esca, not daring to break it himself. He didn't want to say anything - it wasn't his place, although his actions said enough. He tensed up and a black smoke began to swirl around his paws.

Val didn't know why, but he'd grown rather fond of matches since Esca had been gone. He liked chewing them - trouble is, they'd often break in his mouth and he'd get splinters.

Match in mouth, the male headed along, feeling his fur bristling as he heard a familiar voice - Esca. Nah, it was just in his head. Rolling his eyes, the male carried on until he heard a shout that went something along the lines of 'wow, you're alive'.

    Ok. Ok. Something was happening.

The panther turned around to look back at the cave - only to see Esca, Arcane and Cherryblossom all together. What the heck?

Val made an audible sound of relief, heading over, trying to retain the smile that was threatening to form.

Val turned back to Esca, and nodded. Some of the smoke disappeared, although her reference towards the sleeping children was what finally made the majority of the whispy black smoke disappear. And now they were going to split up the kids.

It wasn't his descision, but... well. It wasn't any of his business.

Val couldn't hold the grin in anymore and practically sprinted the last few metres towards Esca, enveloping her in a massive hug. He breathed her scent in again; and it felt good, this was Esca. His Esca.

"I missed you too... I guess," he said jokingly, gently breaking away from the hug and staring at the tiger. "Damn, I can't even joke. I hella missed you."

Val watched the mother and daughter interact, feeling the smoke whirl again when she talked about her murderer. Dean Winchester. A volley of almost silent curses crept out of his mouth, although he was fully aware of the kiddo.

"It's a competition, Newt, it's not meant to be fair!" Val yelled as he hopped after Newt, catching up with him after slipping and sliding all over the place. He aimed to shove Newt off, but whether he did so or not, he couldn't tell - the force of him shoving Newt was enough to send the black panther into the water. He had already slipped at the first hurdle, and now looked a little like a distressed, wingless bat.

Val laughed, gulping in oxygen as Newt magically lifted him to the beach. The panther shook his fur, and then frowned - damn, he'd forgotten that he wasn't a wolf anymore. Having longer hair meant it was easier to shake off.

Val rolled his eyes at Esca, darting off after her with a smirk forming on his face. "Oh yeah?" he said, leaping onto one of the logs, balancing himself before flinging his weight to the next one. "I'm the best."

Val rolled his eyes, whipping around and abandoning the task at hand. He suddenly didn't care what happened, he just really wanted to beat Esca. He swam through the water, coughing as he accidentally breathed in water, but powered on until he was on the other side. Shaking off, Val continued to run after the tiger.

It was an Exiler who had killed Esca, wasn't it? A Winchester too...

Val arrived, and it was clear to see the animosity and tension in the panther. His eyes seemed to be actually glowing, and smoke swirled around his pelt. His muscles were tense, ready to attack, but he remained silent. He'd see what Sam was here for first.

Val was trying extremely hard to contain the explosive growl threatening to erupt from his mouth, and was doing alright at it. She's safe, he thought to himself, she's got all of us here. A small part of the smoke disappeared, allowing the male to take on a transparent panther form, narrowing his eyes. "Say watcha gotta say, and then get the hell out of here," Val rumbled.
