As Titan's deep voice broke into the atmosphere Hudson's head would cease to Bob. It froze in its place as he stared ahead to face the leopard with a rather blank expression before towing in a deep breath and sighing out with s curl to his lips and a smile forming over his finger features. His grin was a little twitchy and rather tense, that was due to the pain he was feeling, not because of any internalized spite or irritation of the other.

"What's going on?" The man questioned with a slight dock of his head, echoing the words the big cat had spoken before resting a paw over the boom box
    "History, my friends. History."

Oh boy everyone was getting really caught up in this Mario Kart thing, the whole squad was starting to gather by the Wii now. Hudson only watched as Newt was called over a few times and his brows would furrow as he saw that the man seemed... Distraught. Damn, was he okay?
It wasn't until he heard Newt speak that Hudson deducted what was happening and he was quick to go up to the other man and offer some sort of support. With his old lifestyle he was used to hanging around people under the influence not only of alcohol but of various other drugs.
He sort of knew how to help people out.
"Had a little too much?" the man asked, one of the fingers clasped around his own beer pointing forward as he adressed the other before actually coming up with proper replies.
"Okay well first of all - sit yourself down and I'll get you some water."

Well now that Newt seemed rather distracted Hudson went off to get the guy some water. Realizing he could'nt exactly carry some water plus a bottle of beer with just one hand the Canadian swiftly chugged down the rest of his drink before settling the empty bottle aside and grabbing a cup and tipping it under the tap. After it filled up with water Hudson turned around only to see Newt say some sort of pickup line? That was odd, he didn't seem like the type to say such things. Inching closer Hudson could not hide his drunken smirk as he handed the glass of water towards the taller man.
"Woah there, here's some water." He said before continuing on. "If you really want to go outside I'll go with you. You shouldn't be alone like this." Hudson said, gesturing the hand that was grasped around the cup towards newt's way as he spoke.

Poems? Oh Hudson absolutely adored poetry so he was quick to hobble over with a grin spread across his cheeks and a glimmery shine in his oaky eyes.
"Poems? For me? Awwww you shouldn't have." He called out before sitting down and listening to the haikus that followed. His smirk only grew wider and wider, dimples forming in his cheeks as he heard in own poem. To be quite honest, the duck tolling retriever had a hard time stifling giggles and once Nilo finished with a bow he was quick to comment.
"Those were the best haikus I've ever heard."

Hudson was starting to make himself feel at home in this Riverclan place. He talked to a few people and made not-so-friends as well as some kinda-friends-not-really's. It didn't really matter to him though, he found everyone and everything unikely interesting and beautiful in one way or another. Yes, even Esca in her own Esca way.
It was morning and the sun was only just rising up in the sky. Songbirds sang their tunes off in the distance and Hudson was in bliss at the music they made. He wondered what other things he could find in Riverclan's territory, animals, plants, minerals. Thinking about it someone popped into his mind: Newt.
When he met the guy he saw his interest in animals and found it quite intriguing. Surely he would have loved to go on a little walk to check out the environment so the duck tolling retriever went around camp trying to find the tom. Once he finally came across the other man he smiled at his way and sat down to ease all the weight that was onto his only forearm.
"Hey Newt, I hope I didn't interrupt anything." The man greeted softly, his head cocking over with a slight look of concern as he hoped that he didn't interfere anything.

    @newt;

Eyeing all the feathers Newt seemed to have been organizing, Hudson couldn't help but stare in wonder. Birds were very diverse animals through different biomes and different locations they were all unique to where they were.
Hearing Newt speak the Canadian acknowledged his own trailing thoughts brought back is attention onto the present moment.
"Need something? No not really I just... I was about to go on a walk and I wondered if you would like to come?" His smile was a little crooked and his jaw was rather clenched, not from discomfort, simply because of social awkwardness. In crowds, talking was rather simple but one-on-one exchanges were a little tricky for the retriever. Overthinking his words the man then realized how sudden that sounded - people don't just think about each other when they wanna go on walks dammit what are you a sort of creeper?
"I-I mean I thought you'd like it cause you seem to like nature a lot and maybe we could spot some cool creatures and- uh, yeah..." Hudson ended his words with a few awkward chuckles as he mentally scolded himself from continuing on with his sentences.

Hudson would nod and smile as he heard Newt's acceptance of the offer, that was always a good sign. It meant that he didn't fuck up, well at least he hoped that he didn't. Hearing the man's question the Canadian stopped himself from getting too carried away into his own intrusive thoughts.
"Nowhere special really I just wanted to check the territory out." He said with a shrug of his shoulders before adding: "I know there's a couple of rivers that could have some pretty interesting herps."
Although Hudson was into the survivalist, adventuring aspect of nature he was also greatly into Zoology, maybe not as much as Newt but he had a good amount of interest and knowledge in the field.

He nodded enthusiastically as soon as Newt mentioned owlspotting. To be able to see such a majestic creature out and about doing it's own things was always a remarkable experience. Nighttime was always lurking with animals, badgers, skunks, foxes, the occasional black bear. Even though a Grizzly was what really made Hudson's life take a turn for the worse he still highly respected the animals and never once felt any sort of spite towards them.
Turning to face Autumn Hudson would listen to her words and comment on them.
"You sketch? That's cool! I paint sometimes. It's weird though - I can only do landscapes." He'd shrug his shoulders at that before sending a quick glance over to the wii console and those gathering around it. "I used to be boss at Mario Kart when I had enough fingers for all the buttons." He joked, his right shoulder raising as if to make note of the lack of an arm in the extremity. Joking wand making light of this trauma was sort of a coping mechanism the amputee had adopted.
Walking ahead of the two he outstretched his left hand to pull the house door open for the others to walk through.
    "After you!"

Hudson was able to spot the little twisted look of hesitation in Newt's face before he agreed to go. The duck tolling retriever nodded and limped away in a rather slow pace, but it was fast for him considering the lack of limb he was trying to get used to. "Herps is short for herptile which is basically amphibians and reptiles." The Canadian informed with a light sound to his tone, feeling rather satisfied knowing he could share some knowledge with someone who actually had interest in what he had to say.
"Maybe we could find some tree frogs. Considering this is a tropical place though we should becareful, but I think you know that."

Through the time that had passed Hudson laughed along witht he things that were being told and had popped into the house to snatch a beer quite a few times before hanging outside again, watching Newt move along, hooting away. He smiled at the man, it was nice to see him so into the things that he appreciated. He seemed much calmer out here away from the louder crowd. It was... Nice. Nature was the man's home.
That made the two of them.
He stayed quiet, letting the Zoologist do his thing until some rather loud noises came from the door and Hudson turned around to listen
"Sounds like they're changing things up in there." The Canadian said before pressing his third bottle of beer onto his lips, taking a slow sip of the liquid inside.
"We should probably check up on them"

    [center](c)trexgirl

Hudson couldn't help but feel some sort of pride in knowing that he just taught something new to this fella, it was a good feeling but he hoped that he didn't seem condescending in any way. he wouldn't have wanted that. Hearing the question Newt ended with Hudson shook his head.
"No, there's not many tree frogs up north." He said, there was some tree frogs in southern Canada but they weren't the stereotypical vibrantly colored ones.
"I do know that some are really poisonous. Dart frogs I think - they're cool, but touch 'em and you're a dead man."

As Autumn spoke towards his way Hudson smirked and walked into the house, he opened his mouth to reply with a snarky joke but he got distracted by Titan and Himiko's response to his words. The Canadian couldn't help but chuckle as he walked over, taking another quick swig of his beer before addressing the two. "Ooooohhh I see some tension up in this room." He teased, making sure to over enunciate his words in order to provoke a more playful tone as he stood by the crowd, eyeing Titan for a brief moment before sighing and sending some overdramatic words in a attempt to humorously comfort the taller individual. "Don't you worry, you've got lots of chances to get a kiss or two. The party's not over. Maybe the next game should be 'pin the kiss on the Titan' because you're so sad about it." After delivering his punchline Hudson smiled over to Himiko's way to see of she approved of his joke before giggling and immediately apologizing for his rudeness.
"Sorry bud, didn't mean to be rude I saw the opportunity for a joke and I took it."

Drunken emotions, ah, Hudson missed the sight of it in a way. He was so used to seeing giddy stoners and tripping crackheads he somewhat felt homesick over this sort of situation. That as probably a bad sign but Hudson didn't think too much of it. Listening to Autumn's suggestion the man was quick to shake his head, oaky eyes growing wide in a stern manner to make his disagreement all more prominent.
"Letting a bunch of drunk guys wander around in the dark isn't a good idea: trust me."
He said before turning to Titan and continuing on once again. "We could do that though. Spin the bottle just like in highschool." The man said while raising the beer bottle he held in his hand, chugging down what was left within the glass before letting out a rather loud burp and setting the bottle in the livingroom, hoping people would join. With a grunt Hudson plopped himself down on the ground, sitting legs crossed by the bottle as he raised a hand to the elastic around his hair, untying them to let them hang over his shoulder and drop over the sides of his scruffy face messily.
