    Ryan shuffled in after Xylia, for once not horribly late to one of the meetings. "I can do a barbecue with MoonClan or DarkClan, if you want." He drawled, curling his tail around his paws.

    When Lucy ran off, he'd wanted nothing more than to go after her. He could help her, he knew he could, if he just had a minute alone with her. But they hadn't been alone, and he knew the others would never let him follow her. Even the one that didn't know about their history, Blair, had made it clear she didn't like him being near the Captain.

    So reluctantly, Ryan had watched her go, and slipped off to his room as soon as he was able. He'd talk to Nico about... whatever made the other male take his side later. Right now he was done with people casting judgement on him and his ex's relationship without them knowing the whole story.

    He was laying on his bed, hands clasped behind his head like a pillow, despite the actual pillow sitting just a few inches away. He was staring at the ceiling, thinking. How had things become this bad? Lucy was different, they were living in an entirely different world now, and she had kids and a whole other life. And she didn't want him in it.

    It's what he'd always been afraid of, that she would find out she was so much better than him, that she didn't need him to survive or be happy, despite him very much needing her. She'd realize that she was better off without him, and she'd go move in with Jess and live a better life without him in it. And now... she had, despite all his attempts to join her in that life.

    He sat up when he heard her come in, not having bothered to lock the door. She appeared moments later in the doorway, an unreadable expression on her face. He noted the cutlass at her hip and wondered if she came to finish the job. "Lucy?" Ryan asked tentatively, rising to his feet. "What are you doing here?"

  • FLASHING RED LIGHTS [MANDATORY EVACUATION DRILL]

    Ryan had been on land, not really being entirely... water oriented, he supposed. He didn't really like the sway of the boats in the sea, so when he could he hung out around land. Hearing the Captain screaming into a megaphone about getting to the boats, however, was enough to send him running for the shore. Sure, he knew that this was a drill begun a day late, but what if it ended up being more than just a drill? What if there came a day when they really did need to evacuate? He hauled ass to the boat, though not the main camp, as it wasn't the closest.

  • SOUTHERN NIGHTS // OPEN, NEW BLOODCLAN AMBASSADOR

    Honestly, everyone in the Skulls probably had shit on their mind, one thing or another, and Ryan was no exception, though the things plaguing his head were the things that always were, he hadn't been given a mysterious message from a stranger, or lost a child, or been killed and revived by a pet. His worries still revolved around the Captain, and comparatively, it was pretty mundane... though, if he was honest, things were changing between them, and he couldn't wait to see where they went.

    Looking disheveled as always, he padded up next to Xylia, gaze on the stranger. She was all glamed out, as well as armed. He sniffed. She'd brought food, too. "Pleasure to meet you, Barbara, I'm Ryan, one of the sailors." Though he couldn't sail for shit. "Thanks for the gifts. Uh, how's BloodClan doing?" That was a question Lucy/Sel usually asked, right?

    There was better out there for her. Better people, better quality of life, maybe even better love. She had a mother that loved her, friends that would support her, a job that could lead to a future. He had none of that. The only thing he could offer her was himself, yet that had been enough for her. For a little while, anyway. Not so much towards the end, but that was when she knew that even if he was going to give her everything, everything wasn't good. In fact, quite a bit was bad.

    No one would be surprised to learn (if they even needed to learn) that Ryan spent a good amount of time gazing at her. Maybe it was creepy, but somehow it was a step up from full-on stalking her. He knew everything, every facial expression, every movement, every article of clothing. Actually, he didn't know everything. He didn't know what was beneath the Captain's clothes, or even beneath the skin. For as easily as he read her, for as much as he knew her, Ryan never really knew what she was thinking.

    He waited patiently, watching her open her delicate mouth and then close it again. She didn't know why she was here, or at least not how to explain it. He took two strides towards her, watched her stiffen and force herself to relax, then shift her weight. "In the kitchen." He said, stepping forward, closing the last bit of space. He nodded towards the kitchenette.

    A smirk pushed its way on to Ryan's face at Barbara's question, his old cocky attitude making a comeback. "Not really, I'm more of a city slicker." The others did, though, but he was happy to keep the BloodClanner's attention on him. For one, no one was ever all that nice to him since Sel didn't really hide their history, and two, jealousy was one tactic he hadn't tried. For a few reasons, including not having anyone that'd go along with it, and for another, the unlikelyhood that she would be affected.

    Ryan glanced up when Lucy said his name, and he nodded. "Yeah. You want me to get started on that?" The answer would of course be yes, since both Sel and the DarkClanner were on board, it was more to ask the unsaid part - now?

  • LET'S COME OUT OF THE WOODWORKS [open, human au]

    In a tiny sailing town, there wasn't much point in cars, or at least driving them within the town in good weather. You could easily walk or bike anywhere in what the locals called Skull Bay, and usually the weather was gorgeous, so it was infrequent that the shelter cars would provide was needed.

    That being said, Ryan liked cars, and he was pretty lazy, so he still drove around sometimes. It also was a gorgeous day, aside from the sweltering heat, so he was outside in front of his house, washing his jeep, though it was hard to tell what had more water on it - the car or him.

  • GRILLED CHEESE [open, barbecue with DarkClan]

    Sel and Serafin wanted him to arrange a barbecue, and that's exactly what he'd done... even if there weren't many great locations for an event such as this. He'd cleaned up the tavern (seriously, did anyone bother with upkeep there unless there was a party or event of some kind?) and gotten a grill set up outside, where he was currently flipping meat, being precariously balanced on a barrel. Serafin had said DarkClan would provide some food, but he didn't see any harm in getting some burgers and hot dogs rolling. The fact that he was hungry from cleaning up the tavern totally had nothing to do with that.

  • I'm a sucker for pain. [ joining]

    Ryan didn't think he'd ever get used to this place, or the people, or their lifestyle. He was a city kid trapped in a cat's body, begrudgingly living among a pirate's crew. But he was getting used to the rocking of the ship, the chaos and calm of the Clan. It was taking time, but he had been learning these past few months: he was surprisingly patient.

    Padding over to the stranger that didn't seem to pay any mind to the border, Ryan halted a few paces away from him. "Thanks? I'm Ryan, what's your business here?" He wasn't the most friendly person here, someone else probably would have found a way to inquire about Laius' presence in a more polite manner, but not Ryan.

    Ryan wasn't one that was all that in-tune with godly entities or supernatural beings - the closest he came to all of that was being a reincarnation. Other than that he had no powers or impressive titles, nor was he as adept at reading auras like some of his other Clanmates. "Welcome to the Skulls, Adelaide." Ryan said as he moved over to them, standing beside Balance. "My name's Ryan." Calla had already offered a tour, so he didn't bother to echo the offer.

    Ryan appeared not long after Sel and Calla did, taking a seat by the former. His would be yet another dark aura, matching his dark pelt and eyes. "Welcome to the Skulls, I'm Ryan." He greeted simply.

    Ryan was pretty sure he'd never really get a grasp on the politics in the Clans - they lacked the laws and structure he was used to, the format was far freer and the conflicts, while lacking in bombs and other weapons of mass destruction, were bloody and brutal. "Thanks for the gifts." Ryan said, deciding to let the higher ups react to the takeover. It meant nothing to him, and he didn't know how to react anyway.

    Ryan looked up from the car as Xylia approached, offering him a lollipop. "No thanks." He said, bending down to pick up the hose again. "Kinda busy." It was only a few short moments after that that Lucy appeared, with a quip ready as always. He gave her a look. "No." He tried to think of something witty to use on her, but came up with nothing. Instead he aimed the hose at her, but didn't turn it on, even when the urge to spray Calla as she winked at Lucy became rather strong.

    Somehow, Lucy was the first person to arrive despite having left to get DarkClan. He opened his mouth to thank her before realizing her compliment meant nothing - she couldn't smell anything. He gave her a look and ignored her cackle, turning to the next one that addressed him. "Yeah, it's Ryan." He muttered, looking back down at the patties. He'd heard the rumors about the canine's... relationship with the Captain, same as everyone else, and he didn't like it. He was close, insanely close, and he didn't like the idea of someone else distracting Lucy.

    He couldn't dwell on it long, though, because the first DarkClanner was arriving. "Excellent, put it over there." He pointed with a spatula. "Thanks. First round of burgers and hot dogs are just about up."

    Maybe he could have had more, maybe they both had better lives that they could have had if only they'd known they were out there and that they were attainable. If they'd really wanted them. But instead of wishing he'd had better, he wallowed in his shitty circumstances and practically bragged about being a victim of a crappy life. That wasn't to say there was no part of him that wished his parents hadn't sucked and that his friends had been better, it just... didn't win.

    Ryan followed her into the kitchenette, lingering behind her and studying her. He wanted to ask what she really came here for, but he didn't. "What are you hungry for?"
