    [size=9]He hesitantly stepped inside the house, nodding to others before making his way to the couch. The only reason he came was because he was invited, and to be honest, he didn't know anyone here that well. He quietly sipped at a cup of beer, his eyes darting around the room for some familiarity. After two cups the room was starting to blur, the chatter around him dulling.

    // he's a serious lightweight

    [size=9]Newt shook his head, a slight frown appearing on his features. "Some people just have no respect for wildlife, thinking that they get to decide who lives and dies." He let out a small sigh before continuing. "All we can do is play our parts and do our best to inform people about these creatures. Let them know the severity of the situation and what they can do to help." Not wanting to bring the apprentice down, he switched to a lighter subject, letting a small smile form. "You said you also like wildlife? What do you find interesting?"

    [size=9]Newt has had experience with catnip before, and found it quite interesting. The effect it had on felines was odd, and seemed to trigger something in the brain that made it hard to resist. Despite knowing this before hand, he couldn't help but chuckle at the snow leopard's predicament.
    "Nepeta cataria, also known as cat nip. Seems like you found quite the amount."

    [size=9]He quietly listened to the short poems, slightly amused by the word choice. Well, they were accurate, and would probably be a hit with the younger members. "You tried, and they're unique."

    [size=9]"Good evening." He greeted softly. Talking only seemed to make his headache worse though, and he let out a small groan. Drinking wasn't a big hobby of his, it never failed to make him feel terrible. "How do you tolerate this?" The people, alcohol, parties, everything.

    [size=9]Well, the rock's feelings hadn't really occurred to him until she mentioned it. Most of the rocks he had met were non-sentient, so that probably explained why. "You can choose one rock for this coconut, and choose a different rock for the next one. That way every rock gets chosen eventually."

    [size=9]He was currently on an animal watching expedition with Croc, pointing out different species to him as they walked. They were about fifteen minutes away from camp when he spotted a fox feeding on something. It only seemed to take one or two bites before burying it. "It's probably a female hunting for her young, so stay very still." He whispered, "She might get aggressive if we make noise."

    //perhaps one of them accidentally agitates her, and Croc gets attacked? anything is fine though

    [size=9]"Pleasure to meet you to." He responded, "Newt." Feeling slightly uneasy due to the size difference, he quickly turned to Hudson. "I beleive catnip has the opposite effect on canines, and is used to sooth the nerves." He didn't have that much knowledge on herbs, but he had used it once or twice before.

    [size=9]Mario Kart did sound like fun, after all, who doesn't play it? He would probably join them after this round was over, it would be an excuse for why he wasn't continuing to drink. "It was only two cups." He muttered, but eventually complied. "Thanks, I appreciate it." At the sound of another voice he looked up, an unfamiliar girl in front of him. "Thank you also. I don't beleive we've met though? Held a conversation I mean. Newt, pleasure to meet you."

    [size=9]The mood had started to dampen again, and he couldn't help but fidget with his hands. Now keep in mind that his mind was still muddled from the beer, and that he was slightly desperate to lighten the atmosphere. Anything to keep himself from throwing up or passing out. "Um, if you want a fantastic beast, you know where to find one." He said it pretty loudly, and automatically regretted it. Shit, the last thing you should do is yell out a pickup line at a party. And to someone you just met.

    //writing that made me cringe inside.

    [size=9]He was blushing quite a bit by now, a smile forming as he continued. "At least I didn't ask if you wanted to see my wand. It can perform quite the magic." It was corny, but somehow managed to make him giggle. Who giggles at their own joke? "Heard it's nearly 15 inches."

    [size=9]It was nice while it lasted, but now he just felt bad for her. He hadn't expected to make that big a fool of himself. "Um, no thanks." He said. "I'm just going to go outside." He slowly made his way out the front door, and collapsed on the front steps. Put his head in his hands, he sighed. "Cheers for bad mistakes and ruined friendships."

    [size=9]"Uh, thank you." He murmured. Had he heard the pickup lines? And if so, what did he think of them? A blush was starting to creep back onto his face at the thought. "Sure, I mean, if it's okay with you. And Autumn of course. It's pretty clear out tonight though, maybe we can spot an owl."

    [size=9]The fox froze at the noise, sniffing the air in order to locate the intruders. Newt slowly started to back up, indicating Croc to follow suit. His effort was in vain though, for the fox let out a snarl and jumped, aiming to bite one of them in the shoulder.
