[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]He was tempted to pull Kilio away from the treasure, about to stretch out a paw when the other got thrown back. Grabbing his wand, the tom quickly placed himself in front of the younger male, eyes widening at the specter in front of them. The language was unfamiliar to him, but he could tell that it had ill intentions. Murmuring something under his breath, the tip of the wand lit up briefly before fizzing out. Strange, it had never done that before. Starting to worry, he quickly looked up at the floating figure, a yelp escaping his mouth as cold claws tore out a clump of fur. Leaping back, he attempted to cast a spell once more, casting a glance at Kilio when it once again fizzled out. "Run!" He exclaimed.

Flames engulfing his village as rouges plundered and slaughtered whoever got in their way. Unable to get the imagine out of his head, he quickly casted a shield before starting to hurry towards the flames. "Auguamenti!" Water shot out of his wand, briefly extinguishing the flames before they flared up again. He continued to cast the spell, slight panic setting in as he realized that the fire was spreading faster than he could put it out.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Though he'd been here for a good while, most of his clanmate's names were still unknown to him. And since he wasn't partially found of one on one conversations, a meet and great sounded like one of the best options. "Um I'm Newt, a zoologist. If you want to know anything about animals, I'm available most of the day." He wasn't sure what they were supposed to say next to their names, so he just ended up stating his occupation instead.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Newt was decent at cooking, but the art of baked goods had always managed to elude him. Perhaps it was the fact that he wasn't a big fan of them, but that sounded ridiculous. He probably just needed more practice, that's all. Padding up to the others, he took a look at the cookies before sitting down near Ivylee. "I beleive we've all met, but my name's Newt, pleasure to meet you all." Another glance was soon cast at the cookies, and he eventually bit into one, quiet for a moment before turning to Kate. "Did you make these? If so, you did a lovely job."

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Teaching biology hadn't been his first job option, that had been zookeeping, but funding a zoo took a lot of money which he didn't have, so the brunette had to turn to teaching instead. The students were alright, if not a bit loud, and the teachers were nice enough, so he couldn't exactly complain. Today had been unusually hard though, and two of the boys in his class had been sent to the nurse for fighting. Not really wanting to interact with any of the other teachers, he quietly slipped into the staff room, wordlessly sitting down and starting to sip on a cup of tea.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]He had only just heard Kate when the servel pushed him out of harm's way, a rare string of curses spilling upon seeing the damage. Making breif contact with the other, he quickly pointed his wand towards the beach and teleported them away. Upon feeling the soft sand on his feet, he quickly went to work, searching the bag for comfrey root. "K-Kate? If you can hear me, I'm s-so sorry. You're g-going to be perfectly fine, okay?" The tom tried to ignore the lump in his throat, searching around for one of the nurses.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Finishing the last of the cookie, he returned the smile, trying to hide a small flush of his own. While he was uncomfortable socializing in general, females tended to push it even further. Most of the women he'd met were either really nice or really upfront, which are both equally unsettling things. "Perhaps you could show me how to bake sometime." He stated. "Baked goods tend to rebel anytime I try to make them."

On second thought, it wouldn't hurt to ask her, would it? "Um, if you want something specific, perhaps a strudel? A friend of mine was very fond of them." For a second a sad smile touched his maw, but it soon vanished without a trace. There was no point in sharing stale memories.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]For the last few days Newt had been riddled with guilt knowing that it was his fault Kate had gotten injured in the first place. And the feeling just got worse upon seeing the female's mentality. He was so used to seeing her acting cheerful, and seeing her in this state seemed to have an effect on the whole camp. Or perhaps it was just him. The tom was currently carrying a small fruit basket, worry in his eyes as he peered at the other. "Your drawings are lovely as ever. I could almost mistake them for photos."

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%][font='Georgia, serif']Today was a very special day for the tom, and if not special, it was at least unusual. Why? It was mostly because he had only done this sort of thing once or twice before. In preparation, he had sent out a note to Kate this morning asking her to come over later, and was now bending over an open suitcase, apparently talking to it. "We have a special guest today, so I want everyone to be on their best behavior. Pip, Fawkes, do you understand me? No, I do not want you chewing on any part of her. And no, you can't sniff her without permission."

    @kate marsh.
    rushed, sorry!

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]The picture served it's purpose well, earning an embarrassed smile from the tom. "Why would you draw me?" He questioned. It wasn't accusatory or anything, he was simply curious as to why she would pick him of all people. "I-It's very nice, don't get me wrong. I just can't help but think it looks better than in reality." His smile remained there for a couple more seconds until she continued to speak, the grin slowly fading away into guilt once more. "It was my fault for trying to prevent something that couldn't be stopped. It was my fault for not listening to Ivylee. And it was my fault that the tree fell on you, and not it's original target. I could've at least trying to suspend the tree or teleport you away." Frustration started to bubble to the surface as he spoke, tears beginning to prick at his eyes.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Speaking of the guest of honor, here she was! Turning around to face the other, he advisably looked happier then usual, if not a bit tired looking. "Ah, there you are! I'm sorry for not explaining in detail why you're here, but um, it's something I'd rather not let everyone else know." By now the tom had stepped aside to reveal a slightly open suitcase, gesturing towards it with a small smile before appearing to climb and disappear inside it. Assuming that she would stare for a moment, his tail soon peeked out, indicating that she should follow him.

Meanwhile in the suitcase Newt had neatly landed inside a small wagon, looking around at the shelves full of herbs before turning back to where the serval would appear. A couple of hummingbirds and bees had started to buzz near his head, landing in nearby fur as he sat down.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]While the clan's territory was certainly a sight to behold, the tom had gotten used to it over time, barely casting a glance at the banana trees as he strolled by. He had created a journal a while back detailing the flora and fauna of the area, and by now the pages were already overflowing with descriptions and pictures. You would think there was only so much he could write about, but he could still be seen jotting down notes about miscellaneous things every so often.

Seeing as Kate had already questioned them for a name, and that they had stated their business upon arrival, he stuck to the standard greeting for now. "Welcome to RiverClan, my name's Newt, pleasure to meet you."

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Due to her activity levels, he hadn't known she had been a part time Windclanner until now, but couldn't prevent himself from smiling at the words. "Um, I'm glad to here it. To be honest, it didn't occur to me that you had a dual membership." He murmured.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]The snow leopard's calls had caught his attention, and in minutes he was at the scene. Seeing the other male's condition, the tom briefly froze before looking over the wounds. Bruises, scratches, bite marks, a puncture, all of which he couldn't help with. He could try to clean off the dried blood, but he wasn't certain of whether or not it would be comfortable. "Well he's alive, and that's what matters at the moment." He couldn't seem nervous, not when Himiko seemed to be panicking already.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]"It's hard to explain, but basically we're currently in a magically expanded space placed inside a suitcase. Well, this specifically is kind of like a medicine cabinet for all of the creatures. It's tiring trying to replenish the stocks all the time, but it's worth the effort if it means that everyone here will live another day." Pausing for a moment, he realized his words probably didn't make too much sense without some sort of context, and gave the serval an apologetic shrug before pushing open the cabin door and stepping outside.

Directly outside of the cabin lay an open space that resembled a desert, and behind it were several other 'zones', each resembling a certain habitat. For example, you could find frogs, snakes, toucans, and jaguars in the rain forest area, while there were meerkats, antelope, and porcupines in the savanna zone. The bigger enclosures seemed to be emptied out except for three or four of them, which contained a rhino, lion, and a couple of hyenas. None of the enclosures were 'real' though, and although they contained basics such as dirt, trees, rocks, and grass, most of the light came from spotlights overhead, and the backgrounds were just painted over canvas.

The tom smiled as a kiwi made its way over, directing it towards the others before turning back to Kate. "I suppose you could say this is a safe haven for animals. Endangered, sick, injured, I gather them all here until they're well enough to be released back into the wild. Until then, they just spend all day get cared for." The last part was teasing, and he let out a small laugh as a fox bit his ankle. "What, it's true!"

[ahh, i don't really know how to describe it, sorry!]

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]A blush made itself present at her words, but he just shrugged the words off as quick as they came. “I wouldn’t say that. Nearly half of the creatures released are killed or re-injured, and some can’t even leave due to permanent wounds. Most of the ones who do make it die out due to the lack of it's fellow species, or because somebody introduced a predator to the area." He couldn't help but feel guilty when explaining this, feeling that he was ruining a well intended compliment.

Upon hearing her question, he was inwardly filled with relief, wincing as the fox began tugging at his tail. "This fellow? His name is Tod, but I like to call him Robin Hood due to his stealing problem. He's a fan of stealing anything from stones to planks of wood. I have a feeling he's been sneaking out when I'm not looking, so that's one of the reasons why I always keep the suitcase shut. It doesn't seem to discourage him though." Fox still attached to his tail, he walked over to a closed bucket and grabbed out a dead mouse, trying to convince the mammal to let go. Eventually Tod gave up what he was doing and snatched the mouse, trotting over to where some of the other foxes were waiting. "Um, do you have a favorite creature? Animal, insect, fish, anything."
