Serafin found too had originally joined Darkclan to experience the life of mortals. He was an angel who had been reprimanded for his close-mindedness and occasionally chaotic ways of doing justice. Was he sorry? Not really. Serafin didn't see anything wrong with thinking a little differently from other angels. He was a firm believer that world was not all black and white, but that didn't mean that black and white weren't on the spectrum. Serafin liked to think he was still on the lighter side of things, even if others of his kind might disagree. The mortals here in Darkclan didn't seem to think all that much differently from him. Wilson had evidently liked him enough to name him his successor when he stepped down. Serafin wasn't entirely sure what to do with his newfound power. Hopefully he could rebuild Darkclan up to its former glory. The glory which the angel had arrived too late to see but had heard stories of. Come to think of it, Serafin had hardly spoken with his new members. It really wasn't very courteous of him. As if on cue, a call tore Serafin from his thoughts. Hey, I made dinner! Serafin recognized the voice of Coldfever, the baku spirit who Serafin had seen around but never actually talked to from what he could remember. This did seem like a golden opportunity to get socializing again. As he approached the kitchen, the smell of warm food reminded Serafin how hungry he was. He trotted over towards the wolf with quick and deliberate steps, still not quite used to his new dog body. He put his paws up on the counter next to her with an awkward thump and flashed Coldfever a polite grin. "How kind of you, Coldfever." he said, "Is there some special occasion?"

You might say that Serafin was prone to selfconciousnes, surprisingly so for a divine being. Today it occurred to the angel that he was in fact the only feline in the clan. It was sort of embarrassing really. He was. . . So very small when compared with his members. He was the divine leader of Darkclan, which was admittedly not much of a clan right now-- but that was beside the point. He had become a divine midget if anything and it needed to be fixed. So, Serafin had decided to make the shift to something a bit bigger. The flame point had thought long and hard about it, tested different options, and finally he had settled on something. It was a dog, a fairly large one with snowy fur and wide blue eyes. Serafin gave his reflection a slow nod of approval. It was perfect; not too large, but comparable to the other canine members. It was a handsome dog certainly; call it vanity, because it definitely was, but Serafin had a funny little thing about the forms he took being good looking. The gray spotted hound trotted around the mirror in his room, wagging his tail and eyeing his reflection from different angles to get accustomed to the fact that this was him now, at least until he switched again. His steps were wobbly and jerky, and he occasionally lost his footing with a crash, but he was confident that he would grow used to this body soon enough. When he was satisfied, Serafin would take a wobbly step out into the hall to get back to his daily business.

Serafin shook his head. "I don't see any reason to put it off." he said, "Darkclan certainly isn't busy. We'll be there whenever you decide to have it. Perhaps we could contribute some food as well." Serafin wasn't much of a cook himself, but he was willing to try and he'd seen some Darkclanners cook. Maybe they would teach him. Wouldn't that be interesting?

Nah, not yet. Trying to formulate some interesting ideas. I'd like to give a mass adoption a go but I'm not sure if there's quite enough members to get litters for one of those yet. I'm fairly new to Darkclan, joined while it was dying and sort of took over because I was the only active member left, so I'm still sort of getting a feel for the whole military thing. I thought a raid might be neat if we could get the Skulls in on it.

Serafin looked up in confusion at the wolf. It hadn't really occurred to him that the others might not recognize him. "Yours truly." the hound confirmed with a theatrical bow which nearly resulted in him loosing his balance. Geez, this seemed easier to maneuver when he was walking circles. To avoid further embarrassment, the dog took a seat. "Well, you know, have to start early if I'm going to get Darkclan back to its former glory." he said, noticing how gracefully the wolf stepped toward him. Of course she'd need to rub it in.

Serafin's grin broadened as Coldfever spoke. He appreciated the wolf's sarcasm. It was a nice change of pace for the dog; everyone he used to talk to in Darkclan had been so very serious. Though Coldfever might not be the type to often associate with angels, Serafin liked neutral spirits like her just fine. He only had any issues with full blown demons, and it was something he had been working on since he formed an awkward alliance with the general Whirlingpaw, who was half demon and part some other strange creature. "Ah. It is a nice time, isn't it?" he chuckled and gave a quick thank you before digging into the soup. The hound licked his mouth clean every few bites in an attempt at displaying good table manners. "So, I haven't talked with you much. Coldfever, is it? How are you lately?" he asked, meeting the wolf's gaze with his own. He knew he probably wasn't the preferred leader of most of the Darkclanners due to his lack of experience and relative recency, but he hoped to win the clan over eventually and communication was the key to progress in Serafin's mind.

Oh, really? That's funny, guess I'll need to take them off the list. I know that the District is already supposed to become enemies with Darkclan because Benny's going to be torturing their leader. Yep, totally stalked that thread, Timur. Maybe that could be expanded upon?

As if he could sense her aversion to the game, Serafin looked over at Coldfever. "Why don't you start?" he suggested. The leader didn't actually have any intent of irritating the baku, he just wasn't quite sure where to begin himself. The angel had never played the game before, and was sort of hoping for an example so he didn't have to admit that he had no clue what it was or how to play.

It seemed cruel not to tell them. Serafin approached the border of the Skulls with another gift basket. Not much time had passed since he had last come bearing gifts, but he wanted an excuse to update Sel on the things that had just happened in Darkclan and perhaps plan some more activities with the Skulls in order to keep a close bond with their only ally. Serafin knew that Sel had been close with Wilson and something inside him worried that she might not be interested in their alliance anymore when he broke the news that the Maine Coon cat had left the clan. In fact, pretty much all the members Self had seemed close with were either gone or inactive now. Serafin admittedly didn't feel like much of a replacement for Wilson, but he was determined to prove himself to the Skulls nevertheless. He would make Darkclan strong again. The hound sat at the border and waited for a patrol-- he never was one to shout out his presence. As he looked down at his paws, it occurred to Serafin that they might not even recognize him. He really should have switched back to his cat body.

She sounds awesome! And I was just looking to get an idea of the character's personality so you got that perfect. As for position, I'll definitely consider her for either. Perhaps we can see which is more fitting when the time comes?

Oh, it was a stranger anyway. That made things easier. "Yep, Darkclan." Serafin confirmed, looking down at feline with an amused expression. "Don't worry, we're allies." he added, noticing how tense the cat seemed. "Darkclan is doing well, I would say." the dog began, pushing the gift basket forward for Calla to take, "We've seen some new members, which is always nice." He moved on to the bigger news with a small frown, "We've also had a recent change in leadership. I thought Sel should know that Wilson has left Darkclan. To where, I don't know."

The hound nodded solemnly. "It seemed nice to let her know, considering the two seemed close from what I could tell. I didn't want her to be disappointed next time she visits, nor did I want her to assume the worst." It had occurred to Serafin that his visit alone probably didn't look so good. It probably seemed like he was here to announce a death or something. "Er, sorry if my visit alarmed you at all. I'm Serafin, by the way. The new Darkclan leader." he added, realizing that he had never even introduced himself to the cat.

Serafin could not recall ever having held a training session in Darkclan before, even though it had technically been a responsibility of his as a general. Then again, who had there been to train? The leader? The other general? Even now, Serafin was confident that Darkclan's few members were more than capable of fending for themselves, but they hadn't been to war in a long time, and he figured they could all use a refresher. It would be short and sweet, a quick review to make sure everyone knew what to do followed by a sparring tournament if everyone was interested. Serafin looked forward to the second part. He hadn't fought anyone for fun in ages. Taking a seat, the dog would call out, "Gather round for a quick training session. Afterwards we will have a sparring tournament for practice."

Oh, well that was a relief. Serafin had been worried that the Skulls leader would be disappointed with the change of leadership. "Oh." Serafin said, surprise evident in his voice, "Well, I guess it isn't an issue in that case. I was concerned you might be upset. Well, I look forward to seeing the Skulls more." he added, thanking her briefly for her congratulations, "How are the Skulls, lately?"

Serafin looked over at Benedict curiously, noticing his uncertainty towards the food. His first thought was that perhaps the dogon didn't like soup. The angel had noticed something odd about Benedict certainly, but he had no clue the guy was a vampire. Angels didn't really sense vampires, though they were considered demons by some. They weren't usually from the underworld, and it was the presence of the underworld which brought on that burning sensation which warned Serafin that a demon was near. "Everything alright, Benedict?" the hound asked, raising an imaginary eyebrow at the dogon.

"Of course we'll come." Serafin said with a smile, he had talked about the event prior with Sel and had been expecting the invitation anyway. What he hadn't been expecting was Selected herself to come and ask him a question. Serafin couldn't help but wonder what she wanted to ask. Was it about the visit he has made on an incorrect assumption. Serafin had been hoping to bury that one away in the back of his mind seeing as it had been slightly embarrassing. "All Darkclanners may get on the boat." the dog announced, nodding toward the ship, "I'm going to talk with Sel for a moment."

It was a hot, sticky sort of day in the desert, and Serafin was beginning to regret his new dog body. Unlike his previous form, the hound Serafin currently possessed had long, thick white fur which trapped heat like a wool blanket. The humidity didn't help the his situation. Isn't the desert supposed to be dry? he thought as he trudged along the Darkclan border, panting heavily. The only solace the angel could take was in the knowledge that there was a forest not far ahead. A shady forest. Oh, gods didn't that sound nice. Sure enough, less than a mile ahead the cacti gave way to trees. Suddenly Serafin had a second wind, and dashed full speed into the shade of the trees. "Oh, forest! Thank heavens for you." he panted, slumping down underneath a large oak with an ungraceful plop.
