His wheezing voice spat out in an almost harsh manner. He was already irritated by some things that had been happening lately and he disliked all the secret keeping. His tail lashed back and forth and he hoped that Dawnguard wasn't right in that she was trying to take their medicine cat from them. Aspenberry was needed here and not with Windclan. His fur bristled a bit as he watched the Windclan leader with a narrowed gaze before he dug his claws into the ground.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]The sound of voices spurred the small tom to make his way out of the apprentice den. His small frame in the shadow of the den as he peered around in an attempt to figure out what was going on. His nose twitched a bit as he slowly moved forward before he found the group. Grizzlybear and Monte were talking to a large and heavily scarred female, one with a deadly eye and yet a calming comforting appearance for him. His muzzle parted and his eyes widened before he quickly made his way over, small paws skittering across the ground as he attempted to reach Cougartail, eyes showing his excitement and happiness to have her back in Riverclan. "Cou...cougartail!" His rasping weak voice lifted up as much as he could as he stared at the chausie with shifting paws before he sat down and tilted his head to the side. "Happy...you came back! Smoke...Smokestar is gone. He ran.....away cause he.....was sick."

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]The strange smells of water and wet ground entered the small tom's nostrils before he parted to allow the scent to run across his scent glands. He didn't know what that smell was and yet he didn't find himself caring either. Slowly the small tom made his way over toward the scene, gaze of emerald green and sapphire blue focused on the strange with the flaming coat. He felt something squeeze his chest and even if he didn't have an black patches as his mother had he saw her. Firelily. Shaking his head he sat down and looked at his paws waiting to see what the other would say to them about what he was doing on their border.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]At the sound of his so called father's voice the young tom tensed up, feeling the hair along the ridge of his neck spike up in irritation. Bossing him around as if he couldn't take care of himself. That's probably why he did it anyway, because he didn't think he could do anything on his own. He felt his muzzle curl but he forced himself to remain where he was, tail lashing as he watched the river before him. "I'll...go soon." He spat out of clenched jaws as his mismatched eyes flicked up from the waters and looked across the river to the other bank. "Trying...to catch food." He wheezed out as he shuffled his paws. He could do it before the storm got here, he was sure of it.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]Dawnstar. He remembered meeting her back when he had been just Sock. The tiny apprentice slowly made his way over, clearing his still healing throat as if he might talk but remained silent and came to settle down beside Aspenberry. His tail curled against his flank as he tried to understand why the Windclan leader would be here at all. Was there an emergency back in her own clan and why had she come alone? That was dangerous wasn't it and he frowned just a bit as he puzzled over the many reason as to why she would be here at their border as he waited for words to be spoken.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]"Adder...kit...you shouldn't...be out of camp." The wheezing and rasping voice of the small apprentice spoke as he made his way over toward the kit. Then again he shouldn't be out of camp himself without his mentor or another warrior but there didn't seem to be too many lurking around these days. Which he didn't have any issues with himself since he didn't trust others at the moment. Not since the crumbling of his life as he had known it. Sitting down beside Adderkit the male looked down at the water, tail twitching before he breathed out a soft sigh from his throat, ears pulling forward as he closed his mismatched eyes. He was trying to relax but he supposed it was just too hard these days and keeping his guard up was much better. Opening his eyes up and seeing the world only through his emerald green one he glanced at the kit. "Do you...want a fish?"

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]A hunting patrol. The apprentice paused when he heard the voice of his father call for a hunting patrol. He should go as he needed the training and he hadn't learned much in the way of hunting. He caught fish so clumsily and his messy catches usually scared the rest of the fish away. He allowed a small frown to pull at his muzzle before he forced himself to come forward and he narrowed his gaze lightly, though he could only see his father well from his green eye. Shifting just a bit he would sit down near the larger male and look to the side. "I...I will come." His low voice rasped out with a bit of gentle pain lingering in his throat.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]The young tom preferred to be along most days. Even if he smelled the incoming rain he didn't budge from his spot by the river eyes watching the delicate fish that swam beneath the surface of the liquid. His tail curled against his flank and he sighed a bit as he narrowed his gaze. Perhaps hunting would do him better and he could being something back home for someone to eat, maybe Adderkit would like a fish. Lightly he lifted a paw and lowered his stance a little bit, small body curling slightly as he waited for the best moment to dash his paw in and hopefully hook a fish on his thin claws. If he could he would be happy, at least slightly and he flicked his pink tongue across his muzzle before breathing out softly.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]The tom didn't know what poetry was at all. It just sounded like he was talking in clipped mews to those around him and none of his sentences were completed. Confusion colored his gaze as he made his way closer to Rainwatcher before he paused and sat down, tail curling against his body. He made sure to keep some distance between himself and his father as he tilted his head and looked away down at his paws. Hmm, it sounded like it was nice but he wanted to know what poetry was. So the small apprentice lifted his head and after a painful swallow he parted his muzzle on his words. "What's...poetry?"

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]Aspenberry was in charge until their disappeared deputy possibly returned. The apprentice gave a soft breath as he stepped forward. For the most part the young tom had healed up though his throat was still on the mend he could talk even if it sounded like he was wheezing and rasping a lot. He settled down and listened to what had been said, mostly duties being thrusted upon Dawnguard and his father. Well, his used to be father. He glanced at Bear before turning his head away quickly and focusing on what there was to do. "I...want to do..something." He rasped out as he lifted his head up and looked at the medicine cat, eyes slightly widened to show his eagerness to help.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]He'd heard voice talking and saying things that didn't make sense to the young apprentice. Why where they saying goodbye to Smokestar? Narrowing mismatched eyes the tom came forward with a tail that wavered in the breeze before he paused not wanting to get too close to his own father at this moment. The sick smell of Smokestar lifted into his nostrils and it was already apparent why. Their leader had left, some would even say abandoned them and he sat down heavily. Now they were leaderless and deputyless. There was no one left but their medicine cat since his mentor had vanished before Smokestar had left. Closing his eyes he wanted to wail but he kept it all in before he turned and walked away from the scene.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]His name ended in paw but the nine moon old disregarded Dawnguard. The tom was not his mentor and he only had one mentor. His gaze lifted up and he looked defiantly up at the water before he walked by and laid down, curling his tail around his paws. The wounds along his back didn't hurt him so much as they used to but still he wasn't too well yet and he wasn't about to listen to someone who had come back from Bloodclan. His eyes narrowed before he laid down and lightly curled his paws underneath himself, choosing to watch instead.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]"What...What's going on? Why...is she all...wet?" A wheezing and soft voice came forward as a injured apprentice came forth. It may have looked obvious but right now the small apprentice was going through a lot. His paws dragged across the ground and he felt hollow inside after what his father had told him. The young male didn't even want to get out of his nest and now he had no one. His father was a filthy liar and his mother was dead while his mentor had gone missing. Sniffling a bit the young male looked between one cat and then to another. He swallowed hard and felt the pulling of his healing through before he focused on what was going on. "W...we need to get her...back to camp. She needs Aspenberry..."

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]When he was shoved off was the moment that a rift broke and shoved between him and his father. He stumbled back and tried to get as far away from him as he could. He lowered his head and pushed his paws on his ears trying to desperately block out any words that were mewed to him. His heart pounded in his chest and he felt like he was going to be sick. His chest felt too tight, his lungs wouldn't capture air correctly and he shook his head wildly not even caring how jarring that was for his torn throat. No he didn't care and he stepped back from the tom that had been his father. His father that lied to him. Was this male even his dad? He lashed his tail before he croaked out in a wheezing voice eyes not even wanting to look at him. "Shut...up...! I don't...want your lies! You...you fox-hearted coward!" He breathed harshly as he stood there and looked the large burly tom before he shook his head once more. Why did everythign hurt so much, it felt like his heart was being crushed. "You...you're just saying that.... you...you just want to be with her. Swan...Swancloud is all...you care about!" The strain of raising his voice was painful but he didn't care all he did was turn around and ran, he ran and he didn't look back.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]His eyes widened at the sudden command and he looked up at Dawnguard. He wanted to stay and make sure things were going to be okay. "But..." His voice was a pained whisper and he dropped his head before pushing himself to his paws. His tail curled against his flank a bit before he turned and walked away back toward camp. Well, he supposed it was his own fault to a degree and he hurried his pace to disappear among the grasses.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]His head snapped up painfully at the way that his father said his former name a feeling of unease issuing forth from his gullet. What was going on? Why would this be the last time that he might see him? What was he talking about. The young tom swallowed painfully before he lightly shuffled his paws and shifted a little bit. There was a feeling of foreboding that was happening and he felt as if something was weighing him down. His mind fluttered to the scene he remembered, of his mother talking to him with gently starlight streaming through her pelt. It was interesting and he wanted to stay with her. Why had she not come back? Focusing on his father he listened with ears pulled forward. Oh, he'd heard this story before and he started to smile. His dad told him this story so many times of the beginning of their little family, how small he had been when he had come into the world and he felt his tail twitch with the thought of his mother, his family. He breath out softly but something was wrong. Deeply wrong. The story was different, things had changed. His mom...was bitten by a coon? A sick coon?

Confusion colored the two toned eyes of the apprentice and he sucked in a harsh breath that tore at the throat wound on the child. He flattened his ears as Grizzly went on about what had happened how his mother tried to attack him, how he killed her. His own father killed his mother. It was the only thing that rang through his head. Firelily wasn't alive, Firelily was dead. She'd been dead this whole time and his father lied to him. She hadn't been doing her duty and was dead. She was...his mouth opened suddenly in a soft gasp as he thought to when she had come and visited him. Her pelt full of stars and she'd been dead then...Starclan. A gasping wheeze broke from his jaws as anger built up in the small tom. All this time he'd thought...she'd come back to them. That she was always going to be there for them. But his father hard murdered her! Small claws unsheathed quickly and he launched himself at Grizzly, a sloppy attack but was aimed at the other's chest to dig in claws and sink teeth into the flesh of his shoulder. He wanted to cry, but he lashed out instead, pain searing through his body both emotional and physical. Why was this happening? Why was everything breaking apart around him all at once?

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 455px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]A wheezing sigh left the throat of the apprentice as he looked at Dawnguard. Why was he being so hostile when they were on their side of the border. They were just checking their scent markings and holding light conversation. The apprentice's gaze narrowed just a bit on the larger male who had disappeared and come back from Bloodclan after rescuing Carawaykit all on his own. To the young tom that had been foolish but he held his tongue before turning back toward the Thunderclanners who were just doing what they needed to do. "Sorry...for the unneeded...hostility. You...haven't crossed the...border. So..it's okay..." It was fine in his book anyway and if he was reprimanded then so be it but Cougartail had went missing and he didn't know if anyone knew where his mentor had gone in the recent days following. A heavy sigh left his muzzle as he shifted just a bit, pain searing his throat. He's already talked too much and he could feel the trickling of blood along the wound down to his chest. Great.
