[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 500px; text-align: justify; height: auto;font-size: 9pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]Rivulets of water streamed off of an elegant figure, sleek coat clinging to the skin from the moisture and outlining sinewy muscle as the mysterious creature emerged from the watery depths. As it pulled itself from the ocean, a long skull reached forward and began to shake, the rest of the body following suit as if to rid it's graceful form from the water. With big blue eyes and four hooves, it appeared to be a horse at a glance; but look closer and the sharpened points of canines gleamed from beneath dark lips and a row of gills lined that long, delicate neck. Its eyes glowed with something inexplicable, and upon further examination, there even seemed to be a crimson tint to the water that dripped from its muzzle. Remnants from a fresh kill, perhaps. Anyone familiar with celtic lore could recognize this strikingly beautiful equine as a Kelpie: a shapechanger, a flesh-eating monster.
......
A letter was all she recieved. Come home, Nilo. Her mother had written nothing else - not suprising, considering Melantha was a woman of few words. Even so, the fact that it had appeared in the middle of the night as the girl finally began to drift to sleep and the urgency in its tone hinted that she must leave at once. And so N had left. Abandoned her clan, did not think twice about the friends she was leaving behind. A smart daughter never crossed her mother. N was many things, but she was not stupid. In all her haste, she did not stop to think exactly why Mother needed her home. Maybe her parents were homesick. Alas, she could not have been any further from the truth. Her brother, Esera, had taken ill. An unknown, incurable disease tormented his body, affecting his appetite and stamina. He could barely leave his den, and their parents spent nearly every waking moment caring for him. It broke N's heart to see her once vibrant brother in such a pitiful state. One day, when he was feeling "better," E asked if she could take him for a walk. "I'm sick of sitting on my ass all day, Nils." So, like a good sister, she helped him out of the den while their parents were distracted and took him for a stroll through the forest. And then... well... let's just say that they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. A hunter was in their area, and took a shot at her brother. It was instant. He was too weak.
Enraged, she sought revenge. The battle was bloody, and she sustained many wounds, but the bastard was dead. And so was her brother. She had crawled over to his body, held him, sobbed as E's corpse stiffened. N could have survived that encounter. She could have tended to her own wounds, sought help. It was the guilt that killed her. I should have never brought him out here. I should have noticed the danger, the forest was too quiet. It's all my fault. In a world where the line between life and death was blurred, making it far too easy for the soul to claim another body shortly after dying, one comes to just expect that people live forever. As if the weight of her guilt was not enough, it was Nalin that woke up in another body, not Esera.
......
Weeks later, she once again stood at the border of Riverclan. Before, she arrived as a spy, and now N was simply seeking out the comfort of familiar faces - faces who did not know of the terrible things she has done. Sand clung to dark legs, water continuing to drip, drip, drip from the mare despite having been standing in the sun for several long minutes. "Is anyone home?" Called the girl with a slight smirk. Nalin was very good at pretending. Pretending to be a friend. Pretending to care. Pretending to be fine. No one could tell the difference. Not with that playful gleam in her blue orbs, or the electric air that surrounded her as if she could barely contain her energy. No one could see the heaviness in her heart, just the way she liked it. "'Tis me, N. I have returned!"

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 500px; text-align: justify; height: auto;font-size: 9pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]Painting, drawing, sculpting - all things the slender equine possessed ability to explore and create, and yet rarely dabbled in any of the arts. With all her creativity, Nalin spent most of her time chasing after excitement, constantly seeking a better adrenaline high. Instead of channeling all that pure energy into something destructive, the smokey grey akhal teke got herself into trouble time and time again. As a child, her elders believed that she had the capacity to do great things. And now? Now she just joked around, got high, and had a lot of sex. Talk about a waste of potential. At least N could recognize her shortcomings. That was the first step, right? Well, it did not change the fact that the mare was still too ashamed to face her parents.
The water demon had been lazing about (more like moping) beneath the ocean waves when the garbled sound of voices caught her attention. N surfaced, salt water spilling down her long skull and in her eyes. Quite the odd sight, a graceful equine rising from the waters, sharp teeth glinting in the sun as a friendly smile decorated her features. She recognized Toketsu instantly, even if he could not identify her in this new body. "Wow, painting, huh?" thanks, Captain Obvious. She shook herself out a polite distance away so not to get the others wet, although it still looked like no water had left at all. Her mane and tail dripped, clinging her her grey coat. N walked closer, peering over at the dinosaur's work. "All black paint? What kind of art style is that?" Her question came off as kind of rude, but it was clear from the way her eyes gleamed curiously that it was a serious question. There must be a name for a technique that only used ink, right?

She is currrently a kelpie, which is basically a water demon that eats other animals and can change shapes when she feels like it. N is chaotic neutral, meaning she is down for pretty much anything. and she is a prostitute.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 500px; text-align: justify; height: auto;font-size: 9pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]To anyone who investigated the scent of a newcomer at the border, they would surely become very confused as to why a slender horse stood patiently upon the sands, absolutely soaking wet. Water streamed from her mane and tail, turning the sediment beneath her figure a dark, muddy consistency. And despite the blazing eye of the sun up above, it showed no signs of drying. But what did one suspect of a water demon? Even when she was not dripping like a wet towel, her shiny silver-grey coat was always damp to the touch and she smelled like the ocean.
She said she would only be gone for a week. And then that week turned into two, nearly three. With her brother passing away because of her own stupid mistake, it had been rather hard for Nalin to gather enough will to even rejoin society. The guilt of the whole ordeal weighed heavy upon her mourning soul, and she was reminded every day of her mistakes whenever she saw her new, equine form. Despite all her turmoil of emotions, her outer facade remained energetic and friendly. N was very, very good at pretending. Pretending to be someone she was not. Pretending to tell the truth. Pretending to be fine. And because of her outgoing, approachable personality, nobody ever suspected a thing.
"Anyone home?" whinnied the elegant mare, blue eyes searching for any signs of life. She was really thirsty. Funny.

There is no surprise when Titan is the first to arrive. He was also the first arrival when Nalin had previously joined. A warm smile replaced her default grin - there was nothing quite like seeing an old friend. In reality, they had not known each other long, but T was one of the few people that N actually, well, liked. The girl was extremely friendly, and yet she possessed few companions. "Long time, no see, Titty," a teasing wink accompanied the friendly reply. Were she more of the type to actually express her true feelings, her first words would have been more along the lines of "I missed you so, so much, you fluffy bastard." Okay, that wasn't exactly it either. In truth, N wasn't sure what she would say. Talking about herself and explaining how she felt never really was her strong suit - she just felt.
Her elegant neck lowered, and she wrapped herself head around him in a warm hug. "Missed you too..." murmured the mare softly so that only her friend could hear. Then, louder, she added, "It's a long story. And it can only be told after I get extremely wasted." A gentle chuckle escaped her lips. It hurt to laugh. For once, it actually hurt to pretend to be something she was not. Years and years of lying and disguises should have prepared Nilo for this, but instead she just felt weak. She was not accustomed to personal loss, and it would be a while until she could think about her brother without feeling the urge to break down in tears. N released the snow leopard, stepping backwards to a safe distance. If he held her any longer, N's stellar mask might crack and she could lose control and show real emotions in public. The horror. This, coming from the individual known to do stupid shit in front of crowds.
"So, how do ya like my new bod?" She struck a dramatic pose, effortlessly covering up her brief moment of panic in one, fluid motion. Hopefully more people would arrive so there would be someone else to look at besides Titan. Friends made her weak.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 500px; text-align: justify; height: auto;font-size: 9pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]"Hey, hotty, I'm N and I am a horse and we have been friends for a while now. My favorite color is black, I'm a closeted emo, and I have an approximate knowledge of many things," The worst thing about this new equine body is that is allowed Nalin to be even more long-winded. The typical approach to avoiding questions about oneself is to remain as quiet as possible or even avoid social situations entirely. N, on the other hoof, found that giving way too much irrelevant information bout herself usually overwhelmed all the nosy bastards, and if that didn't work, she talked enough about plenty of other things to annoy the crap out of them. It was a fool-proof plan.
The silver-grey equine trotted over, clearly enjoying how bouncy her new horsey gait was, compared to that of her old puma body. "Nice to meet you," anyone could see how she was struggling to keep herself from bursting into laughter. Her childish sense of humor found it unbelievably hilarious that she was pretending to just her only friend.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 500px; text-align: justify; height: auto;font-size: 9pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]"Oops - forgot to introduce myself," a short chuckle rumbled in her throat as she flashed a friendly smile to Jackdaw. "It's N, Nilo, Nalin, Nils. I really can't remember which nickname you guys called me, haha." Yes, she actually verbalized "haha." Who would have thought that a sadistic, adventurous, prostitute water-demon was also a meme? Seeming to realize that she was chattering a bit to much, the slender equine shut her mouth and allowed time for the Bloodclan leader and anyone else who might have arrived while she blabbered some time to speak. "I was spying in Riverclan for a time before I to leave - family issues." Another bright smile.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border: 0px solid white; width: 500px; text-align: justify; height: auto;font-size: 9pt; line-height: 122%; margin-top: -2px;]"Nice to meet ya, handsome," replied the equine with a winning smile, sending a wink to Cain in her usual manner. When Nilo flirted, it was out of pure fun, a game. It rarely ever meant anything more - come to think of it, N could actually remember a time when she even wanted it to mean something more. "You imagine correctly." Another smile, this time more subdued. The sound of another arrival drew the mare's attention, pale blue eyes seeking out the individual. Huh, wait, she knew him? Yes, yes she did. It took a minute, but N could almost certainly claim that they had interacted before. "Thank you for the warm welcome," was all she said. By the way her body began to shift, long legs pawing the sand and ears twitching, one could easily tell that she was growing impatient. Meeting people was nice and all, but pleasantries did little to engage her restless mind.
Thankfully, the universe sent an answer to her prayers for something interesting. Barbara. "Barbie!" Exclaimed the girl with a wide grin. "Babe, I've missed you so much! You're still gorgeous as ever," Nalin was not shy when it came to checking other people out, plus, Barbara was always nice to look at. "What have you been up to?"
