☄ ----~ "And I suppose you are the real hunter?" Zephyrbee questioned as he approached. Sitting down beside Palepaw, he looked the young boy over before looking to Paperpaw. He knew, of course, how Pale has often snuck out of camp to practice hunting. While Zeph was not okay with the apprentice doing this at late hours without telling anyone, he did approve of the apprentice's determination to get better. And, notably, he had. He was shaping up to be quite the hunter.

So, he didn't hesitate to nod towards Paperpaw as he asked Pale, "Tell me, whats she doing wrong?" His question wasn't meant to undermine Paperpaw, but simply to both improve Pale's observation skills as well as let both of them understand what to and not to do. It was better to get the apprentices to find the problems than have Zeph make their ears bleed with a long-winded explanation.

☄ ----~ "I nearly died of a heatstroke, does that count as a good battle story?" Zephyrbee said, his words as dark and stormy as his gaze as he paced around the clearing.

By now - early or not - Zeph would be out hunting, or patrolling, or doing something USEFUL but instead he was here, stuck like a mutt on a leash thanks to Bumblefoot's rotten orders. You pass out once from the heat and suddenly your labeled a "potential hazard to your own health". Bull! Thats what he called BULL! But he couldn't argue with Bumblefoot and Jaspereyes, especially not when he'd been given an order to remain put until Bumblefoot deemed him okay enough to return to his duties.

    Bull.

Either way though, Zephyrbee was now bored, and seeing as he wasn't allowed to force everyone lazying about to go on a patrol with him, this meant that he'd be force to socialize. A.k.a eavesdrop. A.k.a interrupt conversations.

He didn't particularly gave too much of a rat's tail about Blackswan's eyes. They were freaky, yes, and very unnatural, but then again one might easily consider Zephyrbee's saucer ears and long snout as freaky and unatrual so he didn't really judge appearances much. Mostly actions. Like how hard a cat worked, for example. He detested lazy cats about as much as he detested bloodclanners - and he really hated Bloodclanners. But now HE was a lazy cat so you could tell now where most of his anger this fine morning was coming from.

    ☄ ----~ //Blue is precious okay i love her

Zephyrbee nodded at Palepaw's response. When the tom gave no sign of offering anything else, Zephyrbee continued for him, "In moorland like Windclan, it is inevitable that there will be long patches of grass that will give away your position - whether your tall or not," he informed, "that is why we windclanners specialize more in sprinting and pouncing than stalking. Since your so small, Paperpaw, I suggest you look particularly for long grass to hide in to ambush your prey."

    aa sweet thanks bear!

    and yes honestly

They'll both be antisocial buddies that hide in the bathroom during parties yes

    ill @ you when its done! ;v;

☄ ----~ Unbeknownst to Owlpaw's pity, Zeph was more than ready for the challenge. Stepping forward to stand behind the three young cats, he nodded graciously to Jasperstar before turning to touch noses with the three cats. He already had plenty of training sessions planned, both as a group and one-on-one. By the time he was done with these kids, they'd be ready to take on anything.

"How about I teach you a little something called modesty, hm?" he said reproachful, touching noses with her. He wasn't all that concerned about Owlpaw and Spiderpaw - but this one...Still, he was never one for backing out of a challenge. He'd make a fine warrior out of her yet.

☄ ----~ Zephyrbee didn't relax at Bearstorm's seemingly truthful words. He didn't trust this behemoth. He could be a spy from Bloodclan for all anyone knew - or a spy from one of their enemy clans, in fact! Still, it was not up to Zephyrbee to decide what to do with anyone, so he didn't say anything when Jaspereyes questioned him about joining. Though, of course, mentally Zeph complained that Jasper was being far too lenient with these unfamiliar "joiners". First a bloodclanner and now a suspicious-potential-rogue? What next - a kitty-pet?!

☄ ----~ Zephyrbee did not like loners or rogues, or really anyone outside of Windclan. Though many of his clanmates weren't all pure-blooded Windclanners, they didn't count because they proved themselves countless times. NEW loners and etc. were greatly untrustworthy because you never know what they could have done or what they will do. The unpridictability of it all infuriated the tom. He didn't like the lack of control that came with not knowing someone's intentions. Like a ticking bomb. Who wanted a ticking bomb for a clan-mate!? Crazy cats, that's who!

And so, to protect his clan-mates, Zeph had it in his head to follow Bearstorm around until he was sure the large tom was trustworthy. Yep. Don't get much crazier than that.

A few steps behind Bearstorm, Zephyrbee immediately grew weary when he came upon Jaspereyes being friendly with a loner-ess. She looked...vaguely familiar. Casting a glance from her, to Jasper, and back again, Zephyrbee found himself even more pissed off. This was confusing and thus he did not appreciate it.

"I assume she's joining our ranks, seeing as your explaining our clan customs?" Zephyrbee questioned, obviously quite moody about this arrangement. Jasper sure trusted strangers far too easily. Still, he was leader, and thus his words were law and so Zeph wouldn't complain. But he would be stormy about it.

Now he had TWO potential threats to keep an eye out for...

    aha yess

Zeph will, in turn, think SHE is not worthy of Jasper (blood relation or no) because he has a thing against outside cats.

Do I sense a possible rivalry in the distance?

    Yes, yes i do.

Ill make the thread since you made the bumble zeph one hehe

☄ ----~ Zephyrbee didn't like loners. We've established that. But he especially - especially - didn't like this one. Mostly because, even after a week, she still acted like one. I mean, at least Bearstorm had the decency not to complain about the clan ways like sharing food and doing chores - and his big mouth spout out every thought that came to his head!

And so there they were, Citrine interrupting his conversation on where the rabbit dens were just to complain again. He bit back the urge to ask her why she didn't just leave, then, if this life was so weird, but only because she was, apparently, Jasper's sister. So, he focused on her question instead. But he paused, thinking about it. Why DID he work so hard every day for cats he, too, often complained about.

"It gives, at least to me, purpose. Protecting, serving, helping - there's nothing greater than being able to help feed or care for a kit, and then watch that kit grow up to do the same for his fellow friends and family." he explained, somehow sounding both exasperated and sincere at the same time, "I don't think a loner like you could understand, but its quite a nice feeling having someone watch your back as you do theirs."

☄ ----~ "Paperpaw, leave the kid alone," Zephyr sighed, coming over because two potential hazards by the nursery was not a good thing. Those hazards, of course, were Bearstorm the untrustworthy newbie, and Paperpaw - the rambunctious idiot. Both of them together spelled danger for the trembling child they loomed over. Better not to leave them unsupervised.

And so, Zephyrbee was now here, just behind the two fore mentioned cats but still too close to the nursery for comfort.

There were lots of things in this world Zephyrbee did not like. He did not like lack of control, lazy cats, outsiders of course - and children. Children were almost all of the above in his detest list - minus of course that they were outsiders. Kittens were lazy, unpredictable little brats who got into all sorts of messes and never knew how to get out. They were reckless and fragile, and never listened to Zeph's orders. They were infuriating and seemed to just love giving him heart attacks.

He liked them better as Apprentices. Looking to Paperpaw, he frowned - though some of them stayed kit-like even after they rank up.

But of course, none of his misgivings meant he disliked kits in the sense that he wanted them gone. They were precious to clan life and it's future, and he'd fend off anyone who touched a hair on any of their little round heads. He just didn't want them near him on any other time. Because they always thought it fun to try and see who could climb his lanky form the fastest and their tiny needle claws hurt!

But anyways, back to the interaction at hand.

Having been watching Paperpaw and Bearstorm interact for a good while, he knew what was going on as he came over. "Im sure she wasn't sneaking anywhere - she's just exploring the clearing outside the nursery," he looked to the tiny child (starclan even Paperpaw could step on her!) "isn't that right, Daisykit?"

☄ ----~ "They can't see you because your crouching," he said, ignoring her title of 'dude' as he patiently explained, "crouching and stalking helps prepared your muscles to leap forward as well as shift your weight easier to keep your steps light. You're tiny now, but you will grow in time and so it will be especially important that you remain low and hidden in the grass so your prey won't detect you."

He was about to start lecturing her on complaining, and how she should learn patience, when a screech behind him made him stiffen. The next instant, he had a weight on his back that very well nearly toppled the lanky warrior. Nearly.

"Owlpaw," he gasped, baffled as he craned his head to look at her, eyes narrowed, "I would have taken this behavior from Paperpaw, not you," he said reproachfully, but then paused, and added with - oh my gosh - an actual look of mischief in his eyes, "then again, paperpaw can't hunt just yet, so sneaking up on me wouldn't be her forte."
