    ☄ ----~ //UNHOLY SCREECHING

Part of him wanted to collapse right then and there, to wrap himself around Bumblefoot and hold him tight -so tight he would be healed and okay and safe and protected forever because that was what a cat like Bumblefoot deserved for Starclan's sake. He should be safe, healthy, happy. He had already lost so much...Damn, just - damn it...

He continued to groom Bumble's head and shoulders and face until the poor tabby finally ceased his sobbing. It killed him, hearing his mate's crying. It wasn't anything new, the crying - Bumble often wept for every small thing sometimes, his heart was just that big, but this was the crying of someone in so much agony. Broken, choked - hadn't he had enough already? He lost his daughter, so much of his home, and now his damn leg? It pissed Zeph off - it pissed him off so much!

He broke out of his thoughts when Bumblefoot shifted, and started to rise. He didn't realize he was holding his breath until he finally released it in a quiet gasp as Bumblefoot managed to stand and lean against him. Zeph shot a pained look at the medicine cat's missing leg, but then turned his focus once more on the healer. Thank starclan he could still stand. At least they were merciful in some ways.

His eyes narrowed at Bumble's apology, shooting Swiftriver a scalding look. If she was expecting a 'sorry' from an injured Bumble, he'd show her a real reason to be apologetic! Of course, his anger was mostly coming from, shocker, shocker, his feelings of lack of control in this situation. He didn't know how to help Bumble, aside from carrying him. He couldn't take his pain away, or bring back his leg. It pained him, each breath he took that was healthy while Bumble's was ragged with misery.

    Damn it!

"Don't you dare make jokes!" Zephyrbee practically roared, almost knocking Bumblefoot off as he fought the urge to arch his back. His glare and anger now found it's outlet on his mate, furious that he would be teasing in such a dire situation. It wasn't until he yelled that Zephyrbee realized he was being unfair. This was simply how Bumblefoot coped, he needed to understand that - better yet, he needed to stop getting mad at everyone so easily when it...when it was himself he was really frustrated with. Swollowing thickly, he lowered himself down further and helped nudge Bumblefoot onto his back, gaze hard on the ground and he whispered, "Its...this isn't funny." Tears pricked at the corner of his eyes, and it irritated him that he couldn't push them away.

Once bumblefoot was secured and Zephyrbee rose to his feet - thanking god for the adrenaline boost that made it possible to heft Bumble's bulk - before bounding back to camp. Though 'bounding' was a bit of an exaggeration. Terrified of jostling his mate, Zeph did his best to run as quickly, but simultaneously as carefully, as he could. This resulted in more of a canter, with the occasional trot whenever they neared anything bumpy. Each second felt like an hour as he felt Bumblefoot's labored breath on the back of his neck. They couldn't have gotten to camp faster if they had arrived yesterday.

But arrived they eventually did, but not a second before he saw the entrance did Zephyrbee yell, "Jasperstar! Assistance!" Zeph needed help with helping Bumble, but who the hell was he supposed to call when the injured cat was the healer himself? Christ - this entire situation was just horribly unfair.

W-WHO ARE GF AND HP ??!

    um um um

    they're entirely up to you~!

the main thing im kinda imagining is that bramble was an angsty teen cus his dad wasn't around / blamed his kits for their mom's death, so Bramble was always the rebellious type which is why he got hitched with a loner when im assuming he was rather young (29 - 8 - 2 for the months of carrying = 18 moons which means just 6 moons after warrior ceremony = young ??) or in the very least the loneress was young and whatever point being they were mentally kids and just didn't want to deal with diapers and college fees so they dumped Daypaw and his unadopted sibling at Zeph's feet so thats about it

its up to you if Day was left right away, or if mamma neglectful over there kept him for a little bit before deciding the new baby smell was too much

go wild is my point yes

Zeph : BAE are you alright??

    Bumble : y-yeah i think it's my leg - is it bad? I don't wanna look

☄ ----~"Yes i want you to help him!" Zephyrbee snapped again at the unfamiliar molly, furious both that she had followed him to camp, and also that she was just standing there, gaping at him. Once he entered the camp clearing, the lanky warrior lowered himself to the ground within the medicine den. Just in time, too, but his thing legs were beginning to shake from holding Bumblefoot for so long and whilst running.

Thankfully, Vereesa came to his rescue and - even though she was an apprentice - managed to get control over the situation. Thank god, because he needed organization and power over the discord in the situation and within his gut.

He glared at Swiftriver, distrusting of her unfamiliarity before looking to Bumble, “is what she said correct? Is that what you need?” he asked softly. But before eh could get an answer, he was practically thrown away from his significant other by his sister, and rage burst through him. It was all he could do not to unsheathe his claws and beat Swanfeather back, away from Bumblefoot - away from HIS mate! But he sucked in a breath and forced himself to stay calm.

I don’t know what happened,” he said through gritted teeth, failing the ‘be more chill’ vow.

    ☄ ----~ // im so sorry Feather - these are all IC opinions !! Welcome to the windfam, I swear Zephyr is nice he just sucks at being emotional ;;W;

For the most part, Zephyrbee had been ignoring Swiftriver's presence. Besides the glaring and the occasional yell, it was impressive that Zephyr hadn't chased the unfamiliar molly out of his territory, or attacked her right then and there for even being NEAR his Bumblefoot. But as he was forced to step aside from his mate, what with Swan's butting in as well as his fear of making things worse, Zephyr was getting more and more tense. So much chaos, so much confusion, not enough answers and results - he was starting to feel sick. Sick, scared, and thus angry. Very, very angry.

Poor Swiftriver chose the wrong time to say the wrong words at that moment, and in the process, she stepped on Zeph's last nerves.

"I DIDN'T ABANDON HIM!" Zephyrbee screeched, whirling upon the molly. Raising a paw, he would have struck the poor she-cat then and there had Vereesa not distracted him with her apperence. Spitting fire, the warrior droppped his paw before it could make contact with Swiftriver's face, but his gaze was still withering as he snarled, "You SHOULD leave - get out of here you ignorant little mole before I rip you to shreds!"

☄ ----~ "Don't push yourself too far," Zephyrbee said, his grumble hard with moodiness as he pressed his long nose into his mate's ear gently. He was angry that the other wouldn't allow him to accompany them to the moonstone. Which was totally unfair considering the hurt Bumble had been in recently. Zephyr didn't appreciate letting Bumble out of his sight, even if it was for medicine cat duties.

He made a vow though, that when light crept into the sky, he'd leave camp and wait for Bumble at the border. If he saw no signs, he'd go after him as soon as possible. A growl rumbled in his throat as he imagined anything bad happening again to either Twilight or Bumble. He refused to let ANYTHING happen again.

☄ ----~ Zephyrbee jumped at the sounds of sobbing, and he was quick to bound over and investigate. His chest clenched at the sight of little Daisykit, chocking and crying. Aw man - he had no idea what to do in these situations! He glanced around, greatful when Bumblefoot showed up. "Isn't there anything you could give her? To soothe her?" he asked, impatient and concern a bad mix in his usual monotone voice.

    ☄ ----~ Zephyrbee was torn.

He wanted to stand up, to stand beside Bearstorm and agree with the tabby - Twilightkit could have died after all, and for what? Because Daypaw just wanted to prove a point? He deserved punishment, because it seemed scolding wouldn't ever work on a cat as rebellious as him. Perhaps, then, a little pounding could drill the lesson of respect into his head instead?

But Zephyrbee had seen what happens when Bearstorm got angry. He knew it didn't take much for the heavy male to go out of control. He doubted even more that he'd know his own strength, that he wouldn't break a bone, or smash a head in.

And...and, damn it, that was his nephew! It was his responsibility! He was his responsibility!

So, against all logic and good reason, Zephyrbee stood behind Rabbitflight, facing Bearstorm down with a cold glare. "Rabbitflight is right, Bearstorm. Calm yourself and be patient. Daypaw will be dealt with, but not by you." he was quiet a moment, before he unsheathed his claws and bared his teeth, "Touch one hair on his head and so help me Bearstorm I will return whatever you deal him ten fold," he spat.

He wasn't going to let Bearstorm hurt him, not matter if he desrved it or not. They'd figure something out. Something right. They needed to teach Daypaw what it meant to be a clan cat, what it meant to follow the code, and tearing him to shreds wasn't going to help anything.

But Zephyrbee was scared. Scared that Jasperstar would banish him the way he had Paperpaw...

Starclan, if he lost Daypaw too he...he...

Aw man, he was killer migraine...

    ☄ ----~ //WELCOME TO THE WINDFAM!!

Perhaps he was spending too much time around Daypaw, because the urge to strangle Heronkit was strong. That joke was probably too soon, but not untrue. If looks could kill, Heronkit would be a goner as Zephyrbee glared daggers at her. He opened his mouth to reprimand her, but then decided against it since he was sure he'd probably end up cursing her and her future grandkids. So, instead, he refused to acknowledge her presence as he came to Bumblefoot's side.

He didn't like anyone touching Bumblefoot, but he forced down his possessiveness - knowing full well it was abhorrently unreasonable - and focused instead on his gratefulness that Goldenbird had assisted his mate. Dropping the rabbit he had chased down a while ago, the tom reflected Goldenbird's question, while also giving her a nod of gratitude. He awaited Bumblefoot's answer.

☄ ----~ He perked his large ears at the sound of pawsteps. He silently wished Day has stayed away, hidden, and out of Bear's sight. It be a lot harder to keep the guy in check when the steak at the end of the pole was right there. It didn't help the mood that Daypaw was wearing an apologetic look - which, if you didn't knwo him, would be convincing, but Day was NEVER apologetic. It would have been more sincere if the guy looked defiant, but stayed mute. THAT could have been an apology. But this - this was a show.

    A game.

It made his skin crawl, and frustration well up inside him. He just - how was he supposed to handle this kid? What was he supposed to do? He didn't say anything as Rabbitflight smacked his head - better her than Bearstorm - and listed off his punishment. In any other scenario, he would have given her a nod of approval, but he was too busy gazing at his nephew sternly.

    No, not sternly.

He was disappointed. Disappointed, and, yeah, a little scared.

Scared because this was a big deal, and he didn't realize that. Scared because this kid, his responsibility, was slipping through his paws the same way Paperpaw had. Daypaw needed him, he needed SOMEONE to look out for him, and he was doing such a god d*mn piss poor job of it. It was his fault this happened, his. If he'd been a better uncle - if he'd just - I dunno - done SOMETHING - anything...but, d*mn it, what was he supposed to do? He wasn't a dad! That wasn't his job! He didn't ask for this!

And there he went, repeating the same mistakes his old man did with him and Brambletooth.

    And it was killing Zephyrbee.

    It was killing him.

Zephyrbee continued to say nothing, and instead looked away from the pale tabby tom. He couldn't bare looking at the other, not when he squealed with ignorance against the severity of all this. Whether he had intended it or not, he could have killed Twilightkit. He could still be banished. Exiled. Left to rot.

How in hells name was Zeph going to save him?

☄ ----~ Zephyrbee wasn't about to lie to him. Each word felt like a blow to Zephyrbee's pride because, yeah, he was absolutely right. He was challenging Bearstorm not because it was logical, or had any valid reason - he just wanted to protect Daypaw. Hell, it pissed him off that he found himself with unsheathed claws - and while he justified doing so, added with the threat, was him trying to direct Bearstorm's attention away from Daypaw, he knew it wasn't so. He was getting emotional. Weak. Perhaps because of what happened to Bumble? To Paperpaw? Either way, these two sides were warring with him, and Bearstorm pointing it out didn't help anything.

Zephyrbee raised his chin, not backing down as Bearstorm taunted him. He was surprised by the mention of prejudiced logic. Again, he had never hidden it from anyoen that he didn't trust cats from outside the clan, but that was mainly because, yeah, they were unfamiliar. They didn't have ties to anyone in the clans, so them snapping one day was more likely to happen than say a warrior who'd grown up being taught nothing but respect to you leader and blah blah. Was Bearstorm still upset with zephyrbee about all that though? He had though he'd understood! It had been merely an act of caution - albeit an obsessive one, but when was Zeph ever NOT obsessive? Even so, Bearstorm had long since proven himself, and earned everyone's respect - especially Zephyrbee.

Did he assume the only reason he was defending Day was because he followed in his nephew's beliefs?

He wished he could explain himself to Bearstorm, but he doubted words would get through to the tom. He watched, shocked and, admittably, nervous as Bearstorm built himself up into, well, a storm. No, that wasn't right - this tom wasn't...he couldn't be Bearstorm. He was that feral beast that had fought back against Citrinesun with a broken leg, too focused on taking his opponent down to give two cents about his own well being. To feel the agony of his wounds.

    A beast.

No, whether it was logical or not, he wasn't going to let...this side get anywhere near Daypaw.

"It was not a challenge," he finally said, voice icy but once more, carefully, pulled from emotion. He kept his paws unsheathed though, and his muscles tensed. A fight could break out any moment, and he truly hoped it wouldn't - partly because he still had hope Bearstorm would come down on his own, and also because - look at those freaking paws! Zephyr was a twig compared to him! But advantage or no, he refused to flinch away. "But a warning. Calm down now, Bearstorm, before you do something you'll regret," he said, tail lashing slowly. He wasn't going to make the first move, that was never his goal, but sometimes the first punch was the one that for told the outcome of a battle. He hoped he didn't just seal his fate.

    PALE AHHH

    don't worry man, a lot of people have been inactive lately ;v;

all you need to know it

    Bumbledad lost a leg

Paperpaw killed a guy (?) and was banished, renamed Tarheart

Zephyr has a nephew now who nearly drowned Twilightkit and they'd debating on what to do

all of the above happened pretty recently too so you could still reply to the threads (especially the bumble dad one if you want pale to be horrified)

☄ ----~ Zephyrbee was tempted to stick his own tongue out right back at Heronkit, but then remembered he was an adult and reigned himself in. Sitting down on Bumble's other side, Zephyr checked him over with a sweep of his gaze, before frowning in a more softer manner, content Bumble was alright. As alright as you could be missing a leg, that is. He let out a snort as Bumble tried to convince the kid that her lack of filter was an issue, before shooting him a look of betrayal when he chided Zeph next. "Yeah well, curiosity kills people," he said testily, looking away.

Not before catching the wink he shot to Goldenbird. Zephyrbee felt a twinge of jealousy, though he absolutely didn't doubt Bumble's commitment. He just -preferred grumbling about not appreciating those winks and '-love' titles than not getting any at all.

"How's Twilightkit doing?" he asked, curious and happy to distract himself.
