[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]So this was a meeting? It was an event that the young blue brindled greyhound had yet to actually indulge in. He knew little about these gatherings but knew enough about the basics to be able to follow them and what happened in them. They tended to include notices for everyone with announcements such as promotions and demotions among the ranks. It was rather interesting despite his limited knowledge on the politics of Riverclan. He approached with furrowed brows, noticing that almost everyone had subconsious, designated spaces besides those that they were well acquainted with. He personally barely knew anyone and did not particularly like anyone apart from Ivylee. At least, he didn't like anyone enough to want to sit besides them. He cast Mono a glance before seating himself off to the side of the group, not wishing to pester the other male who had settled down besides what Herritt presumed to be was a companion of the older lupine. He did not mind being by himself away from the others because it meant that there was less chance of any kind of social interactions. He did not like engaging in small talk, or well, conversations at all. They often came with the delightful bonus of emotions and he could barely keep a tab on the ones that he did not understand at the moment. He did not wish to encounter any more. The child flicked his ear as he settled down, lowering himself into a sitting position as he peered up at his sister with placid amber orbs through his thin spectacles. He was calm and prepared for whatever announcements the older samoyed was going to give out to the entirety of Riverclan.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:560px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]"Now now. No need to get so defensive. I am sure that those around you just do not want to see you writhing in pain in the future as a result of some form of cancer" the greyhound pup remarked as he approached, his expression as stony and as distant as always as he regarded the familiar lupine through half lidded, glazed amber orbs. He felt himself unintentionally wandering into the thoughts of the wolf however and although he attempted to dismiss his own attempts with a flick of his ear as he did not care too much about what they thought on those around them at the moment, it was out of his power to put a stop to it. It seemed that despite the negative opinions held on cigarettes, they helped the older male to relax. Who was to put him at fault for being calm? Even if that peace came with the price of health.

"However, if they soothe you and you are harming no one else with them then I guess that you can continue to smoke at your own risk. And you do keep the fumes under check so no one really should complain as long as you are not going around blowing it in people's faces or something"
he added in a monotone drawl as he balanced out his initial words, coming to stand besides no one in particular, halting a few paces away from his nearest clanmate as he regarded them all in turn before his focus ultimately drifted back onto Monochrome. His contradictory statements showed how little he really regarded the health of those around them or the situation as a whole but he still could not help opening his mouth, especially after finding the new development in the situation that the canine was in fact calmed by the nicotine ridden cigarettes. The youth flicked his ear, glancing away from the male that he had initially peered at, his focus honing in onto nothing in particular as he did so. He saw no need to reintroduce himself to the smoking canine as they had crossed paths before and also engaged in a similar conversation. If anyone else wished to discover his name then he guessed that they would have to open their mouths and outright ask or else he would leave them to just ponder it silently instead.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:560px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]alright, so herritt has the tendency to read the minds of others, sometimes without intending to do so. he can look into and control the thoughts, feelings and memories of others although at the age that he is now, he can only really read surface thoughts.

however, so that i know who's thoughts he can read or not, i'm keeping this little log here because i don't want it to be that he just goes around and can tell what everyone thinks unless the roleplayers are alright with it. i would have it that he can automatically read the minds of the mentally weak but i'm not sure whether that'd be allowed or not c:

feel free to track and to let me know whether herritt would be allowed to read the thoughts of your character.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]Loneliness was a mortal emotion that he knew of although it was not something that he had been made to endure. He understood the various causes of it however and it was a concept that he was vaguely capable of grasping. He did know of it though and although his knowledge was limited, it was not, unlike most emotions, an entirely foreign concept to him. Of course, if he was aware of the fact that this individual was best friends with his onee-san then he probably would not have made the effort. After all, he wished to try and befriend the Riverclanner without the assistance of Ivylee and in his eyes, doing so with the samoyed's close friend was in a way, cheating. However, he was unaware of this knowledge and therefore did not fret about it for now. Not like he would have been that worried about it in the first place but still.

"Are you alright?" he inquired in a blunt, straight forwards manner as he approached the former head medic, coming to a halt a few paces away from her to give himself the opportunity to push up the thin glasses perched on his muzzle. His query could be taken in a variety of different ways and he himself was unsure what variation he intended it to be. He had learned that it was polite to ask how another was doing upon meeting them but the pup was unsure whether that was what he had meant by the words that he had uttered. It was more so that he could genuinely sense the drained emotions from the female and was spurred on by the general etiquette that he had learned to see if she was okay. Of course, Herritt did not exactly care about the response that he was to receive but, in his endeavour to try and better understand the feelings of those around him, he guessed that it was the best possible course of action in tackling the problem at hand.

"I am Herritt Xerses. And to answer your own question, I have been fine. Although, I believe that your words were directed more at those that you are already acquainted with. However, you have my response nonetheless." the feminine canine stated with an idle flick of his ear, amber eyes narrow as he peered up at the golden servaline being stood before him. It seemed that, from what he could gather, she had gone somewhere and not interacted with those around her for quite some time which was what had brought on the current gathering that she had called to attention. Considering the fact that they did not know each other, the youth was already silently ready for the worst potential outcome to this situation where this stranger would cast him off. The blue brindled greyhound pup would not care about that though. Social interactions were not the most enjoyable thing to him anyway and if he had an excuse to slip away before the congregation grew in size, then he would not mind doing so.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]//i'm sorry about anything confusing. i don't know too much about high school because we have different names and stuff for things here in Britain c:

Herritt himself despised school. It was of course a place of education and the boy adored learning new things. The issue was more with those around him. Due to his the mixture of his features and traits, he was not exactly the most favoured student amongst his peers. He was short, pale and extremely feminine looking with short chin length magenta hair and a pair of thin glasses. The barrage of comments on his appearance with piercing words like 'four eyes' or even just people calling him a girl were things that were very common to him. It did not help that he was a brutally honest being and tended to speak his mind straight without much thought for the emotions of those around him. He had never really taken the time to try and understand all of the different necessities that came with social interactions and therefore came out with things that his peers often viewed as disrespectful or unsavoury. They even tended to mock his Japanese heritage with was something that perturbedthe usually calm boy. However, he did not care too much for them or their petty taunts. It was more a problem that they existed because he found that they all just got in his way. He had his older sister but the younger student rarely saw her around school seeing that he tended to keep himself to himself and she was rather busy a lot of the time.

    Kids could be cruel.

The magenta haired boy had been walking down the corridor, a book held in one hand and his other hand pressed lightly against the strap of the backpack that he had slung over his shoulder, when he saw that someone had dropped the mass of books that had previously been held within their arms. "Kon'nichiwa. It seems like you need some assistance" the youth chipped in, lowering his bag to put his own book away for the time being. The freshman would have never considered helping out another prior to this moment and normally he would have just passed them by however, it seemed that after talking with others about the expectations of behaviour, he was at least attempting to help out those around him. It was an improvement, even if he was still as monotone and as blunt as ever. Herritt stooped to lend Eli a helping hand, dropping his bag for a few moments so that he could properly focus on the task at hand.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]He could practically taste the sensation of distaste flowing through the air as the serval addressed both himself and Felix. The strong emotion flooded through him much like a crashing tsunami however he stood his ground despite the rush of vertigo that had accompanied the sudden flow of negativity. Herritt was far too in tune to his surroundings to try and deal with such a concentrated form of disgust. He felt something flaring up from deep within the pits of his chest, an emotion perhaps. To him, from what he was able to piece together, the agitation scratching at his lungs was a mixture of both irritation and discomfort. He did not like this being. It was something that became clear to him almost immediately after he took a few seconds to process her words. He did not like her and could care less that she was his big sister's best friend. Dislike was something that he was not too well acquainted with but had seen it being carried out enough to be able to tell when it was striking his own soul. After all, this being had the audacity to turn a look of discomforted judgement onto him without any apparent reason. He would have infiltrated her thoughts to scope out a reason that may have been just and would allow the male to cope with what was going on but he did not wish to worsen things.

"Alright then." he muttered with a flick of his ear, head lowered slightly as he attempted to bat away the bitterness that had instinctively rose up into his throat. He peered at the female in an almost blank manner, emptying his mind of any anxiety or negativity that had come along with the encounter. Once he was sure that he had lapsed back into his usual empty state of stony calm, he opened his mouth to speak again, carefully picking his words so he did not cause offense to the other being once more. "I can tell that I make you uncomfortable and I believe that it would be suitable that I leave so that you stop feeling such a negative emotion. My apologies for doing so. O wakare" the young child stated, glancing up to Felix as he took in the familiar face with a nod before he pivoted and trotted away, chest aching in confusion. It would probably take the child quite some time to gather his thoughts as he attempted to figure out what he had done wrong. Perhaps he was looking at the entire social interaction thing all wrong but he was nearly completely certain that his words had been well chosen and suitable for the situation that he was in. This was just bewildering to the greyhound youth.

/ic opinions, i love cora and herritt is just a confused child <333 + out

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]ohg od herritt is already confused and distressed because he doesn't understand simple things like emotions
he was lowkey triggered ah my child

ahhh welcome to riverclan, my friend.
or, welcome back if you've been around before c:

    [center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]thanks guys c:

herritt is pretty disturbing himself so he'd probably just brush it off as normal behavior
like 'yes! i've finally found the sane one in this group'

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:500px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]Herritt himself had never really seen his powers as a blessing or a curse. He did not even really regard them as anything special and for quite some time he had been under the assumption that everyone around him was capable of doing such things themselves. He had been incorrect of course and had nearly discovered that the bad way however, it seemed that fate and mercy had been beaming down upon the child very brightly at that time. In a way, he was an extremely gifted and unique individual as such abilities like the ones that he possessed did not tend to come around very often. He was not one to take things for grated however, gratitude was not an emotion that he could readily expression. After all, it seemed that his power came at a cost. The cost of a developed personality. At one glance, he was sure that others merely saw the shell of a child, monotone drawl the only thing to express emotions and even then he had a very loose grip on the emotions of both others and himself. It was a problem but not one that he chose to acknowledge.

"I appreciate your efforts to try and bring comfort to me however, I think that I shall pass." he said with a flick of his ear, amber gaze fixed on the swedish elkhound through the thin glass. The inquiry about a pillow was a rather odd one but it brought back memories for the young child. His mind had began to wonder. Perhaps that russian blue individual still possessed their large pillow. After all, it had been much more than a large cushion. It had been so much more and Herrit himself was still unsure whether he actually understood it or not. Despite those thoughts, he kept his attention focused on the other canine for the time being, fictional brows lowered slightly as he peered up, monitoring the hat wearing elkhound's actions closely. He raised his paw, waving it in response as if they had not just met and exchanged words. The child assumed that if the other male was doing it then it would only be polite to do so in turn. "Herritt Xerses. Felix? I shall remember that" the greyhound stated, his paw hovering in the air for a few moments before pushing his glasses up and dropping the limb down to the floor so that he was stood on all four paws once more.

"Ivylee onee-san!" he chimed as he straightened up, his voice ringing out with sprinkled delight blossoming from the blunt tone that she youth spoke with. He flicked his ear as he allowed a very delicate smile to curl faintly at the corners of his lips. He could feel himself reaching out towards her mind, soaking up any internal thoughts that she may have been feeling about him. He wanted to ensure that she really wanted him around her and it seemed that her emotions towards him were genuine. O course, they were. Why else would she have accepted him into her life in the first place if she did not care? And it seemed that she had lost a sibling yet still craved the experience of sibling-hood. Right. He would readily fill that void as best as he could to bring joy to the samoyed leader. That was something that he was willing to do. It seemed that, throughout his life, although he tended to be a rather monotone individual, almost everything that he did was for the sake of his beloved family and even friends. He found it hard to make friends though and never really understood such platonic relationships as no one had ever spelt it out to him so he was still unsure whether he had even ever had the companionship friends before. However, the japanese canine knew more about the love that families shared. Ivylee was his family after all, even if they were bound together by adoptive selection. Family was family. "Of course, I came here for you after all. I do not plan on travelling any time soon" Herritt hummed, head tilted back slightly so he could gaze upon the fluffy, white canine stood before him, acknowledging the joy that she felt at his arrival. Perhaps she would even be able to help him to understand those around him. That was something that would be of use despite him not wanting to blatantly speak up and ask. This would be, as many had put it before, fun.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]The child had never even heard of this creature before. Their existance had been unknown to the child prior to the current moment in time, just like Herritt had been a complete and utter stranger to them until he had decided to approach and not pass the gathering on by. He had mainly slipped over because he had noticed that there were a few familiar faces in the vicinity and curiosity had won over the monotone youngster. Although Felix seemed to know the manner of speech that this individual was using, the younger canine was rather lost as he attempted to grasp what was going on. The overall words were somewhat easy to understand and after a blink and rapid careful thought, he was able to piece together an internal translation that he was capable of understanding too. He came to a halt near his clanmates, fictional brows furrowed slightly as he processed everything that had been spoke. There were looking for Ivylee? He was unaware of the other beings but the leader was an extremely familiar creature to the blue brindled greyhound.

"You are related my onee-san? Then, you are also related to me, through adoptive bonds" the youth inquired with an idle flick of his ear as he sat himself down besides Felix, his piercing amber glare fixed, half-lidded on the stranger, through his thin glasses. This being was rather loud and vulgar in speech however, considering the fact that Herritt had just discovered them to be family, he would not so willingly jump to calling their behaviour out. Although it may seem somewhat unjust, the young greyhound child would never go around doing things to potentially offend family members. He tended to not have much of a filter when it came to everyone else but that was more so to do with the fact that his understanding of social situations and emotions was still rather limited.

"I am Herritt Xerses, Ivylee's younger brother" he explained further in his usual, blunt, feminine tones. He was a rather dainty being and upon hearing his own voice, he was rather surprised to discovered that, luckily, no one had mistaken him for being of the female gender. Yet. There was always the possibility that one would not be able to tell what he was and the youth had been preparing himself for that day's arrival. He flicked his ear, brushing the thoughts away as his gaze finally drifted from the bloodclanner. He was quite fascinated to encounter a relative however, he did not want to stare because, from what he had been told repeatedly, staring was a rather rude thing to do. Instead, for the time being, he attempted to hone his focus into something else although he just found himself gazing at the paws of the bloodclanner xerses, the gentle crackle of static faint yet evident to the young mind reader as he was sat so close to the swedish elkhound besides him.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]Herritt had yet to properly interact with any members from other neighbouring clans. It seemed that this was a Shadowclanner and that was rather interesting seeing that that was the clan that Elixir and Kilo had ventured to in an attempt to stir up trouble only to get themselves hurt. It seemed that this youngster was also here with the same ideas in mind and although he did not really like anyone around him, he did not want to allow them to harm anyone. After all, this being did not seem to understand what what happening. "Konichiwa. It seems that you have taken to attacking my clanmates to appease your own clanmates. Am I correct?" the rather feminine youth remarked as the initial japanese greeting slipped off of his tongue with his blank amber gaze set on the seemingly ever so slightly younger child before them. His ears twitched as the young male regarded the shadowclanner through the thin material of his glasses, fictional brows furrowed ever so slightly.

"If you are here to capture a Riverclanner, then someone could escort you back to your home. I could, if you want"
he hummed with a blink. He knew what he was doing and would not purposefully put himself into danger. That would be stupid of him and if any of his clanmates wanted to protest then he would allow them to do so. It was not like he was going to listen to them. He would probably pay attention and heed the words of Ivylee-oneesan. There was a chance that he would listen to Felix and even perhaps Mono but any one else's words would more than likely fall upon deaf ears. After all, he was capable of teleportation out of harms way as soon as he returned the younger being back home. The act might bring strain upon the young mind reading greyhound but at least it would mean that no one could lash out anymore against the child who was still stuck in her world of make-believe. She would learn and grow up soon but he could entertain her for now. It seemed however, that his clanmates were incapable of doing so.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:#ffffff;][font=georgia] HERRITT XERSES - i want you who wants me again
Herritt Xerses had never really been around too much despite being a member of Riverclan. He had upset those around him and despite not really understanding the emotions that he had bestowed upon his clanmates, the youth knew enough about things to realise that he had done something wrong. He was not used to emotions at all let alone the crushing disappointment of guilt like a solid boulder crashing down upon his shoulders, breaking his spine and fragile bones with ferocious simplicity. The child had not been able to cope with such pressure and therefore turned to the solution that he always sought. It was the only way he knew to deal with things that stressed him out. Luckily for those around him, he did not turn to negative substance abuse. Herritt was still but a child and was more than just well aware of the dangers that accompanied the consumption of things such as alcoholic beverages. Instead, he had done something that could in some cases be as damaging. He had shut himself away.

But, he had been able to turn things around for himself. In the solitary confinement that he had forced himself into, the youth had turned to the various books that he had discovered whilst he had turned to the library in a bout of sorrow filled boredom. He had spent many hours, days even, walking around the hut. The young greyhound had perused the various spines and blurbs of the books that caught his attention. His skilled gaze had taken their time with drinking in words off of the pages of the novels and textbooks that had really stood out for him and when he had retreated to his hut with a satchel full of some of the more interesting, emotion evoking books. It had been enough to aid him in learning and now at least the youth felt that he had gained a better understanding of those around him and their feelings. Of course, it did not help that he could still sense the emotions and hear the thoughts of those but he did have something now that he previously had lacked. Both sympathy and empathy were now well known in his mind, surprisingly.

The blue brindled greyhound slipped out of his hut with an idle flick of his ear, the feminine young canine glancing around with a curious smile curving his lips upwards. Now, to anyone that had endured previous encounters with him, this would be an extremely out of character expression considering the fact that he had previously slunk around with a constant, blank look on his face. However, now there was some light added and his bright smile caused his youthful features to uncharacteristically glow. Not actual illumination but it might as well have been. He certainly did not look himself however, to those with less experience with the mind reading youth, it would be less easy to notice any changes in him. That was more how he wanted it. After all, he had been the victim of scorn and judgement for who he was. If they wanted him to be happy then he would do so. It was the least that he could give in response to those who had taken him in and allowed him to live in Riverclan where his sibling was.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:#ffffff;][font=georgia] HERRITT XERSES - i want you who wants me again
The youth turned his attention from the ground up to the clouded leopard who had first approached him, lips parted slightly in apprehension as he regarded them closely. This one radiated with apparent friendliness which automatically caused his smile to grow ever so slightly, almost as if he was in a way feeding off of the bright, positive emotions that were being displayed. He felt the initial hesitation dissipating rather rapidly, especially when she had started to speak and he was eager to respond to her, the delight swelling inside of his chest a savoured sensation that he wished to cling onto. "Konnichiwa Sylmae! I'm Herritt Xerses, it's nice to meet you. You said you are new, right? How long have you been here then" the japanese speaking youth stated, nodding his head in response to her words about being a new being. That was the reason why he had not been able to recognise her upon first seeing her. Not like that mattered, she seemed like a very nice individual and those were the types of beings that the child wished to surround himself with. He was much more in tune with the minds of those around him and after careful though, he had come to the conclusion that the happier, friendly population of his home were the ones that he would like to be around in order to absorb and therefore feel similar emotions to them.

He vaguely remembered Kate who he had not personally interacted with however, he had seen her around and been in some similiar situations with her like when there had been the issue of Kilo and Elixir getting hurt after going to Shadowclan. That was one major event that stood out to him when his mind drifted to the topic of the individual before him and that sense of very small yet noticeable familiarity caused his smile to grow. "Hello, you are Kate, correct?" the blue brindled greyhound inquired with a gentle tilt of his head, light amber gaze fixed with clear interest on the servaline being.

[align=justify][size=9]OMG HERRITT YESS I WAS WONDERING WHERE HE WENT... he and Ivy need to bond more this time tho

    ahhh how has everyone been?

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:560px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:white;]ah sorry, kicksie! it was just that i was posting with him but it felt like he was being a tad glossed over that might have had something to do with his personality because i know that it's hard to interact with a character like him. i don't blame anyone though and it was probably just me being paranoid. however, i didn't really want to drop him so i've been working on renovating him to make it a bit easier to communicate with him and such c:

and yes, they definitely need to have some proper bonding and such because i plan in keeping him around more permanently now!

[center][fancypost=bgcolor=;border:0;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;color:#ffffff;][font=georgia] HERRITT XERSES - i want you who wants me again
It was not that big of a deal to him that she could not remember who he was. After all, he probably would not be able to remember himself if he was to meet someone like him. Of course, that was probably just him unintentionally putting himself down but he guessed that if he did so with a bright smile and a lack of care, it would not seem like anything severe and he would not come across as some kind of self-deprecating fool. That was not who he was after all. He was no longer a being with a simple greyscale personality. He was three dimensional now. He could not shed his clear, feminine yet monotone voice but he could make up for his flaws with positivity. It was the very least that he owed to those around him who tolerated his presence for more than just the fact that he was the younger brother to Ivylee. He was sure that no one was actually aware of that information anyway apart from Mono and Felix. That did not bother him though. At least that way he could not be judged or compared to his oneechan.

"Mmm. I'm Herritt. I do not think that we ever properly conversed and I am not the most significant of individuals so that is probably why you can not remember who I am. I do not mind thought. After all, I'm, as you say, turning over a fresh leaf."
the youth explained with an idle flick of his ear, his pale amber gaze not moving from the serval as he addressed her. He was quick to reassure her that her lack of knowledge on his existence did not trouble him considering the fact that he was metaphorically starting over, the sensation of joy warming his bones to the core.
