    Alice didn't complain as her father came to her rescue, teeth chattering against the leather hardback from the snowy weather. She fluffed out her fur as a defense against the biting chills, and snuggled into the dark cape. "I was j-just going to r-r-read," she stuttered, voice muffled by the book. She preferres to reas outside, but it seemed today that would not do.

    The child was startled by the eager hyena at first. All she knew about hyenas was how they were rivals of lions - she recalled reading a book recently that mentioned it. Yet this hyena - Talon - seemed much friendlier and cheerful than the ones described in the text. She caught his contagious smile and returned once, relaxing into the situation somewhat. "Of course I'll remember to! Just be specific." He claimed to know what he was doing, so she decided to trust him. She was clever - she could pick this up. Besides, the group didn't seem at all hostile. She could do this.

  • New WindClan Territory Discussion

    aaAaHhh I LOVE the Japanese and Bhutan ideas!


    They actually bring a lot of the WIND into play, so the territory will still suit the clan
    I mean mountain-top village, you got that ocean, beautiful forests and wind chimes yess


    I am all for those ideas

  • WINDCLAN CHAT/PLOT THREAD


    We will be moving territories in a few weeks, and needed a reason icly for the clan to also make that decision.
    We decided on an ice storm hitting the current territory and forcing them to leave, which will come in phases. Phase 1 has already started, so the weather is getting colder with occasional snows and strong winds, etc.
    We haven't completely decided on a new territory yet, but there is a discussion pinned on the ooc board if you'd like to contribute c:

    Alice had to admit, it wasn't the answer she had been looking for, and she was tempted to ask How? Yet it seemed she had hit a tender spot with Mob, and the child fell quiet with a small nod. Make the world a better place... it was easier said than done, she knew that. But she'd try. One day, when she could make a difference, she'd try as hard as she could. "Okay." The girl played with a piece of grass, unsure of how to pick up the conversation again. "Um... what other powers do you have?"

    Alice was brought to the scene by the reeking smell of alcohol. Something on the border stank - badly - and had caught the child's attention. The lion cub approached the man warily, eyes narrowed and ears flat. Something told her not to trust people who smelled like booze. "Name, and business," she called out, keeping her distance as the spotted fur on her spine twitched.

  • PUZZLE PIECE [o fancy ball au]

    Oh crap. This had been a terrible idea. She'd thought, upon hearing of the ball being held, that maybe she'd go. She never went out and socialised. Rarely went to parties, occasionally visited friends, but never such a regal dance. It was a change, so she thought she'd try it. Try to enjoy herself.


    She was not enjoying herself.


    Her dress was itchy and foreign to her body, nevermind how baggy it looked on her skinny figure. She hadn't done anything with her blonde hair, except a purple butterfly clip in the back. She hated it. This had been her worst idea ever. She just wanted to get back into jeans and a hoodie. Comfortable clothes.


    The teen was hiding herself behind the food table, seated against the wall as she stuffed her mouth out of boredom, not lady-like as expected at all. She just wanted to go home.

    A meet-and-greet. Usually, Alice avoided them like the plague. Unnecessary. Involved a social life. Not for her. But she'd been making an attempt to grow in confidence among the clan recently, so swallowed any anxiety and held her head high as she approached. "My name's Alice," she introduced herself, and then thought she sounded stuck-up. She frowned at this, watching the flower spring from the ground curiously. "Flower prints, is it?" She'd read about powers in a book recently, hoping to educate herself on her own.

    A hostile growl rumbled in the cub's throat at his response. Pulling tone? I'm pulling tone, huh? She had asked a very simple question - in fact, the customary greeting to all newcomers. It was his smell that put her on edge - surely he knew he reeked of the stench of booze. If anything, his comment fired her up even more, and with a lash of her tail, the child would mutter under her breath, "sooner the better." Alice gave the two a look of disapproval. Straight to the drinking, it seemed. She would have liked to tell this Haymitch no, you can get lost, but unfortunately she didn't have that authority. All she could do was keep her distance during his stay. She'd made up her mind - she didn't like him. Either of them, to be honest. But she was just that stubborn sometimes, and in her young eyes drink was a crime.

    The wolf had heard her little comment it seemed - and that she didn't mind - let him. But it was what he then referred to her as that pissed off the child even more. "Don't call me sweetheart," Alice spat, seething with anger. First kitty-cat, now this? It was revolting, and she was liking this guy less and less. Lost for a comeback, she stood on her toes, fur rippling and lips pulled back in hostility. She felt a sense of relief as her father arrived, though didn't completely relax. She would hold her ground against Haymitch. That'd show him. She calmed a little more as Vader sent the wolf flying towards him, and did her best to disguise a triumphant smirk. Talk about rude remarks - what a hypocrite! He hadn't exactly been polite to her either. She glanced at Henry and sat down quietly, simply observing the amusing scene. She considered giving Haymitch her name, but decided against it. He wasn't deaf. Yet, a "yeah, right," escaped her lips with a scoff as she sent the wolf a defiant glare.

    Alice sat with her tail curled over large paws, ears perked and listening to the list curiously. Psychic barriers, teleportation, control over plant life? Her eyes shined with wonder and she nodded eagerly to acknowledge him. "Can you show me? Maybe I can learn them too!"

    The cub's eyes grew wide at the book-toss and she squirmed in complaint. "That's delicate!" she squeaked, staring after the book in longing. But it was a long way down, and her father's cape was a great insulator. She was too warm now and comfortable to hardly consider leaving Vader's arms. She nodded miserably at his short explanation, sneezing as a snowflake landed on her nose.

    Alice should have seen her coming, or even heard the rustling of grasses as the younger child approached. Yet her senses were closed, ignorant and trained on the book. The fine printed words. The sound of pages turning. The smell of fresh-cut paper. So when Mercy made her voice heard, the cub jumped almost a foot into the air, fur on end and the whites of her eyes showing. "Oh, sorry!" she gasped, worried she'd frightened the timid pup. Ah, she couldn't read. Alice hadn't been much better at her age, so she simply smiled, noting her page number and closing the book. Learning to read wasn't that simple - she'd have to learn to recognise each letter, the sounds they made, the sounds combinations of letters made... it was complicated, no doubt. Especially English. But it just took time, patience and constant practice. "Want me to teach you?" she offered with a friendly smile.
