    I'M YOUR LIONHEART — alice — windclan — she/her — tags

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Alice hadn't realised that her mentor had left. When she noted Kate's absence around the camp, she had been pleased - with her injuries from the fire in Riverclan, Alice had presumed she was resting. That was good - she didn't want the medic to push herself. But at the sight of the gifts in camp, all from the serval; it was quite obvious that the beautifully wrapped presents were her goodbyes. The lioness frowned, her head sinking. Kate had been there for her when she needed it most; Atticus had been there for her too; they all left. She would bottle the dramatics this time. She had promised herself never to lose control of her emotions again - but that didn't lift the burden of grief. She was prepared to turn away, but noticed a smaller present addressed to her.

Alice padded past her father and brother, admiring the gift from a closer angle. Kate's handiwork was always pleasing to the eye. The lioness took care unwrapping the small box, and a small smile graced her lips upon discovering the necklace. The small advisor held it gently to gaze at the charm. It was beautiful, and something about it reminded her of Kate; it was perfect. The lioness clipped it around her neck carefully, and turned to Luke and Vader with a small smile. She would miss Kate - oh, so much - but perhaps with the charm she could carry around their friendship. Cheesy, but true.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Alice padded in after Victorian, allowing a soft sigh to escape her lips. It had been a while since they'd had a meeting, but with all the trouble at the moment, one was certainly needed. The Bloodclan raid, Kate had gone... they had no medic now, which was not good. Pluto was only training, and had not been around too much either, which left healing the wounded up to the few with medical knowledge. There was the proposed neutrality with the Exiles, which was now extremely doubtful after Bloodclan's betrayal. She wasn't sure when the trial alliance with the Westeros was ending, but a decisiob would be made soon. There was much to discuss. The lioness seated herself, a paw lifting to fiddle with Kate's charm.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Shit. Alice hadn't finished her training with Kate, and now that the medic had left, it was taking time to find a new one. She was not combat ready, but hell was she going to try. She was sick of hiding away inside while the adults battled. The lioness bounded out onto the battlefield, her teeth bared aggressively and expression furious. Fuck these backstabbing Bloodclanners and goddamn Shadowclanners. She was majorly pissed, and as a result had no filter. She was surprised the anti-clanners had managed to navigate their extreme territory. And they'd brought kids? Oh, how lovely. Let's take the newborns on tour! Well, she could handle a bunch of puppies. It looked like Sanepaw could use a hand.

"I knew you lot were cowards, but ganging up on one person? Really?" Alice taunted, before leaping at RARY. If Sanepaw had failed to shake him off, with luck, she would knock the pup off with her own weight and pin him to the ground. She had no intentions of injuring the children, intent on being the better person, but wasn't afraid to leave a couple of light marks if they didn't back down. The battlefield was no place for a child; her father had taught her that much.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]A blonde was moving with the crowd, though notably slower. She allowed the flow of people to guide her into the break room, as her own head was stuck in a book, chocolate optics staring down the words intensely; clearly the current scene was an intriguing one. Her clothes were impeccable though choice of outfit questionable. Alice sighed, slipping a bookmark between the pages as she welcomed back the real world. At long last, her head lifted and she readjusted her tortoiseshell glasses further up a freckled nose. Upon noticing Elliot at the table, the girl made her way over with a tight smile, wary of the number of others present in the room. "Hey, Eli," she greeted her friend nonchalantly, seating herself and placing the thick book on the table top with great care.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Power, glory, gold... the typical wants of a typical villain in a typical book. Their motivation, their drive... was generally selfish and greedy and hollow. Peace and justice was for everybody, rather than one person. Did that make the Jedi "the good guys"? Alice didn't like to believe in good and bad. The galaxy was a beautiful shade of grey, a mix of the selfless and selfish, the generous and greedy, the power-hungry and humble. Everybody had their own shade, whether it was as pale as a dove or dark as storm clouds. In every villain lay a golden heart and behind every hero a shadow of their sins. The Jedi had faults; the Sith had faults. They both had pros and cons, though Vader seemed to skim over the good in the Jedi. She wanted to know why; though hesitated. She had other questions, and a personal one would likely end the session. Yet the lioness was keen to know. The others were not as important. The others, she could research within a book. Vader's past was only written in his memories. "Why don't you like the Jedi?" Alice began, wary that she was treading on thin ice. "Wait - I know you said a Jedi did this-" - a gesture to his metal limbs and mask, the artificial parts of his body that were visible - "but can't you see the good side to them? They want peace for everybody. Isn't that a good thing? Conflict can cause misery, death and grief."

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Alice had been lucky enough to escape the battle with little more than a badly bruised paw. She'd been careful about the fights she had picked, and Luke had been even more careful to keep her out of the battle completely. She felt guilt weigh down on her shoulders; she had let this happen to him. She couldn't stop his attackers - children. "Not enough training" was hardly an excuse.

The lioness wouldn't have recognised her father, if it weren't for the laboured, unnatural breathing and large black form. His cape was gone, most of his mask, hell, an entire limb. There wasn't much of his own blood - it was all metal. She was fatigued; she simply didn't have the energy to acknowledge the scene properly. The weak, burnt skin; the face she'd never seen. Alice limped over in a rush, her only concern was that a medic was needed - definitely for Luke, maybe for her father - and that Henry was captured and Kate gone. Just perfect. She didn't know who to call for - Pluto was missing, she wasn't aware of anyone else in the clan with medical knowledge. Some bandages were definitely necessary - whatever supplies to be found in the medic's chalet. Maybe the best thing was to go to an ally for help - would they be too late?

Alice felt guilty, tired and pained. She was useless here, but she wanted to help. Luke looked dead, Vader not in much better shape. She was clueless as to what steps needed to be taken, which wounds to be immediately addressed - who to go to, what was going to happen... and it was the worst feeling in the world. The pale feline hobbled over in a rush. She could comfort them, ask them what to do - or curl up and cry. Oh, when the clan was in fighting condition again, Bloodclan and Shadowclan were going to pay.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Alice had fallen asleep next to Luke, and woke with a start as the large creature entered the room. The lioness rose to her paws with haste, before promptly sitting down again as the world spun around her. She took a few breaths and raised her head with a weak smile and tired eyes. Her own injuries weren't half as bad as Luke or Vader's; merely an aching paw and various minor scratches. The sight of the two was a great relief - Henry, in relatively good condition despite a missing limb. That seemed to be a trend with the anticlanners; rip off some limbs and they're good to go. Then Atticus - a medic. It was wonderful to see the moose around again - and also somebody with the training that all of Windclan desperately needed right then. The lioness nodded to the pair in greeting, slightly groggy from resting.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]She felt like she should have been able to recognise each name, each term. Who was Maul? What was the Rule of Two? Dozens of more questions, yet he was obviously dodging her first one. War could turn anybody foul - and not all Jedi fought ruthlessly, surely! They must have had a reason to fight, to bring padawans to the front lines. A strong reason, one worth risking everything for. And that was perhaps her next big question - all about the Clone Wars. Yet first, she wanted real answers. Vader was question dodging - hiding something. She didn't like to refer to her actions as prying, but she grew ever curious as time passed. Alice was wary, yet eager to know. There was so much about her father she knew nothing of; surely she could be trusted with information regarding his past? Besides, she wanted to be a Jedi. It had been a topic lingering in her mind recently, yet she was growing sure of it. And if Vader didn't approve, it would probably never happen. "Why don't you like them, though? Maybe a lot of their beliefs go against the Sith's, but surely that doesn't make them that bad, right? They can't all be bad in your opinion."

Hey guys! I know I've been inactive as of late due to a lot of stress and personal problems at the moment. With those combined with upcoming big exams, I have really little free time. Roleplaying has become more like a chore because I have no time to play with character development and plotting, and have to focus on simply making posts. I'll be taking a hiatus of sorts until the summer holidays to give myself some space to breathe, and so Alice will be stepping down from her position. IC, it can be mentioned that she is sick.

I won't be around again until mid June, though you can absolutely bet on me coming back. I've had great fun roleplaying with you all, and I do intend on returning. Thanks c:
