Alice's eyes darted around the area frantically, seeking a distraction. Something to excuse her lack of eye contact. Forepaws fidgeted unsurely, until her optics rested on the outstretched hand. The pale cub bit her lip. Pluto was fine... and now Dick had survived, too. Vader's anger seemed to have passed. Or, perhaps this was merely the eye of the storm. Gingerly, the girl made a gradual approach. She didn't want to upset him further. They were all suffering. To pull through, they had to stick together. She would rub her cheek against her father's fingers, familiarising herself with his gloved touch once again, a small smile breaking out. This was what family was supposed to be.

[center]- - - - -[fancypost=bgcolor=; border:0; width:450px; text-align:justify; font-size:10px; line-height:1.5]Alice had never tried out gardening. She considered it a little pointless - well, not completely pointless, but it took a long time to grow plants, and then another year until you could harvest the fruits of your labour? Alice had patience, but it was limited. "Do you like gardening?" the cub enquired, interested in the femme. "I could help, though I've never done this kind of thing before." Who knew? Maybe once she actually gave the hobby a try, she might enjoy herself. Not as much as reading; nothing could beat that kind of distraction from the stress of reality - but she was open to learning a thing or two about the art of growing plants.

How had such a small kitten travelled so far? Sure, she herself had made a journey to the Knights of Eden recently, but she was naturally larger as a lion cub, with wider paws capable of making the long distance. "Alice," she mentioned, approaching the kitten silently. The cub attempted to smile in welcome, but it felt unnatural at the moment. Fake. "Thank you for these." She regarded the gift basket with a careless glance.

therapist buddies with Alice? She's in no way qualified but she's been struggling with family problems and they could try and cheer each other up and hear each other out c:

[center]- - - - -[fancypost=bgcolor=; border:0; width:450px; text-align:justify; font-size:10px; line-height:1.5]Alice had been watching the hawk from just outside the village. The birds of prey were much more common in the mountains, and she admired their grace and skill in the air. This particular raptor had a blanket in its clutches, it seemed - a fact which baffled the lion cub. It was too distant to notice a certain chipmunk clinging on for dear life, though the familiar call reached her ears. Alice froze, concern raising her fur on end. Where was Chai? And then, hazel optics locked on to a tiny blur of a figure falling from the sky. The hawk abandoned the blanket, turning and swooping towards Chai, and there was nothing she could do. The girl trembled as the raptor caught hold of its prey. Chai was going to be eaten alive, and there was nothing she could do. His tiny body fell once again, between the trees, the hawk diving after him. As the two vanished from sight, Alice dashed down the mountain and as quickly as she could to the area where the chipmunk had fallen. She glancedarund frantically, heart pumping with adrenaline and cold fear. "Chai?!" she called, worry lacing her tone. Round ears picked up on Coralie's voice, and the cub stumbled over in a rush, panting from her run. She gazed at Chai's bloody form and caught the metallic stench. "Is he okay? What can I do to help?"

    WHERE'S MY MIND — alice — windclan — she/her — tags

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Alice nodded firmly as Attie gave her instructions. A blanket. It was a long run back to the village - and uphill. She would never get there and back in time, and she didn't have conjuration, unlike Coralie. Hadn't the hawk dropped a blanket somewhere? The cub began to frantically circle the scene, eyes peeled for the brightly-colored material. As her circling got wider, she finally noticed it draped over a low-lying branch and scrambled over clumsily. Within a few leaps, the pale-furred lioness hooked her claw into the edge of the blanket, pulling it from the tree's grip. Oh, she hoped it would do. Maybe it wasn't clean as could be, and it was a little worn, but with luck the medic would accept it. Alice returned with a stumble, the fabric clamped between her jaws. She brused against Pluto lightly before depositing it at Attie's paws. She couldn't bear to look at Chai - what if he didn't make it? He was only young and small and delicate. If he didn't pull through, Pluto would be distraught - as would everyone present, but she knew her brother was most friendly with the chipmunk.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]The stench of Bloodclan caused her nose to wrinkle and hair to stand on end. Alice knew very well the anti-clans status in regards to Windclan. Enemies - and for good reason. Still, she decided it would be useful to investigate should she need to relay back some information to the clan. The lion cub approached stealthily, her body low to the ground and paw steps wary. As the group came into view, it almost relaxed her. Almost. Just one Bloodclanner - but who knew? He could be hiding an army and just distracting whoever came by. The guardian slunk over cautiously, and stood near Victoria, hazel eyes narrowed. Peaceful business? It had better be. She hadn't seen Vanburgh around, but then again - she didn't see many people around at all. She had been sticking to herself even more than usual recently. "I'm sure he'll be along," she muttered, tail tip twitching uncomfortably.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]What had happened to her? The girl found reading beneath every tree - the one who greeted newcomers with a shy smile - the cub who's family was so dear to her. Everything that could have possibly gone wrong had occurred so quickly, all at once. She felt like she had been forced into adulthood. She had always been mature, but she'd never had to deal with this kind of stress. Anxiety, anger, depression. They came in waves. And then emptiness, once they'd all had their turn. Alice was scared to face those emotions that caused her to lash out and run away, and had bottled them up - she had bottled everything up. The only problem now was that those bottles quickly filled up. If she didn't open the cap herself, it would explode, so to speak.

Currently, the pale lioness had been seated near the new garden. Kate's garden, wasn't it? Hazel eyes were observing the tiny sprouts and admiring the medic's handiwork. Alice enjoyed the feeling it presented her with; a serene and hopeful atmosphere. It was the Force that communicated these emotions with her, drawing from the new life that took the form of young vegetables. It distracted the guardian; though the Force only really got to her when she was hurting.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]The Force immediately left her at the sound of Kate's voice, retreating into the corners of her mind. Surprised at the sudden reawakening, Alice's head snapped up and over to face the femme, eyes wide and muscles tense. With a breath, the cub relaxed and her hazel gaze fell to the side awkwardly. "Sorry, you just - I just - surprised me," she stuttered, grasping for an appropriate apology. She recognised the pomeranian as Kate - the manager of sorts of the garden. What if she thought Alice was up to no good? Her tone suggested otherwise, but the child was wary of possibilities. "I was just looking," she added hastily, and then suddenly paused. "It's Alice. Um, sure." She was too wired up to disagree at this point. The canine's smile brought a shy one to her own features. Hey, it was just gardening. It couldn't be that bad.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]To hear Henry attempting to pronounce all of his syllables just about broke the child's heart. Everyone had heard of the incident at this point. Vader had done that to him with a single knock, just because he had been frustrated. Her father. She felt awful every time the leader spoke - or rather, tried to - but that was not the worst of it. No, Alice was scared. Of the pent-up emotions she had been holding back because of everything. Wounds were healing, but the child had not let go. Anger was a prominent feeling bottled up; she was terrified if she would react just as violently should she let it out. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The cub looked living melancholy as she entered the library, ears flat in attempt to ignore the stuttering. Vader's presentation of a new pair of glasses seemed to be his form of an apology, yet he left with haste. She hesitated, staring after him, unsure of what to feel. He was trying. She had to try too, right? Moping around was no good. "How... is your stutter?" she enquired. Socialising would help, wouldn't it? For the time being, all it brought on was more anxiety. "Not to offend you - I didn't mean it like an insult-" He hadn't taken it like one, had he? Alice was trying to seem sympathetic with the innocent question; she was feeling sympathetic. Had it sounded false? Brilliant. Just bloody brilliant.

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Alice trailed in after Oliver, ears pricked with interest. This would be her first meeting with Henry; it was everyone's first meeting with Henry. What would be discussed? The cub stretched out her stiff limbs to wake herself up, and sat near Kate, eyed on the new leader.
