the end of the world started following a world meeting. or what very well felt like the end of the world. scattered drizzles over london turned into scattered thunderstorms, which soon thereafter spiraled out of control and whipped into a tempest worthy of the title "stormpocalypse."

in the midst of this superstorm, four countries find themselves trapped together under the same roof. america, england, and two younger countries unfortunate enough to have had their flight cancelled. needless to say, it's a tense situation, and all they can do is struggle to make the best out of it.

that is, of course, until magic comes into play.

england's house is chock-full of potentially dangerous, magical trinkets. it's no surprise that when the old manor is blasted by lightning, something is knocked out-of-wack and these four countries quite literally receive a blast from the past.

in other words, they find themselves stuck in 1760 with no idea how to turn back the clock, and little recollection of how to function outside of modern society. in order to get back to their rightful time period, they must work together to find the old warlock who mentored england and hope that he has the answer on how to get them home.

if you're interested in joining, you must choose to play either england or america, and create an oc to accompany them on their journey to 1760! i will be playing the country who you don't wish to play. my only requirements are that you remain active and are capable of writing at a semi-advanced level. try to post at least five times a week, and we should be a-okay! all you have to do is post a brief form of your oc, tell me whether you want to play america or england, and then we can begin!

now, without further ado, my oc's form is in the spoiler below!

    AMELIA JONES !

I AM THE ONE THING IN LIFE I CAN CONTROL

    [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 450px; height: 225px; margin-top:-10px; line-height: 100%; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 9.5pt; letter-spacing: 0.5px; opacity:0.80; ]Saturated clouds of lead heaved sluggishly across the sky.

Unruly, was it, for a young lady of Amelia's caliber to drink so heavily that she couldn't tell left from right? Pshaw! As long as she could still feel her way through the muggy Boston streets to the townhouse she was temporarily occupying, then what was there to be ashamed of? Absolutely nothing, that's what!

She jarred to a clumsy halt in front of the brick staircase leading up to her door. At the same moment, a disorientated hiccup burst from her lips. Intoxicated as she was, there was a scent on the air that she would recognize six feet beneath the earth: freshly brewed tea. The briny humidity of the surrounding air did nothing to quell the scent, nor did Amelia's apparent drunkenness stop her from noticing the fact that the door to her home had been left slightly ajar.

Did I do that? She was willing enough to admit that she could be scatter-brained, but enough so to leave her door open in broad daylight? Unlikely, but as she started her lurching trek up the steps, holding carefully to the railing as she went, she had to acknowledge that it wasn't impossible. She had, after all, been especially preoccupied since the nearby massacre in March of '70.

As she stepped inside, not only was Amelia stopped in her tracks by the overpowering scent of tea, but of another, more subtle scent that raised the fine, blonde hair on the back of her neck.

"Oh, no," she muttered as the realization sunk in. How could it be? She had strategically chosen a place as close to the center of the chaos as she could so as to avoid being found.

Her suspicions were only confirmed, however, when she caught wind of a stirring in the kitchen, followed by the overwhelmingly familiar call of, "Amelia?"

She took a rapid step back towards the door, every instinct in her body urging her to make a safe and hasty retreat. "Hell no. Not here."

    —————[color=#FF0000]✰

    —————

America has been a busy little colony. Ever since the Boston Massacre almost three years before, she has deliberately disobeyed England every time the opportunity has presented itself... It's all easily done when nobody is around to supervise her, but when England herself drops in for a friendly visit, things get a bit sticky.

Alice is troubled by the onslaught of disobedience she had seen in Amelia as of late. So, in the hopes that she might make her colony come to her senses, she tracks her down and informs her that she will be staying for as long as she sees fit. It will soon become evident that Amelia has other ideas in mind.

Between the secret uprisings and disrespectful retorts, Alice wonders if Amelia will ever be the same, and, in fact, does everything in her power to try and make her see what she will be missing if the impending revolution proves successful.

Needless to say, this will be a crapload of angst, and at times, perhaps a little fluffy. There will be sad dances, and lots of #teenrebellion on Amelia's part.

Illuminated in its sultry glow, dark suits and pastel gowns flitted like insects across the black and white floor.

"Why don't the two of you go enjoy yourselves?" At the sound of Matthias's voice, Ezra cast a surprised glance over her shoulder before turning on the heels of her boots. She and Gabby had picked up on the subtle, but frustrated glances he had been casting them throughout the event and had, in fact, made a game out of determining how long it would take him to grace them with his opinion. Gabby, who stood aside and tried not to look smug, was the evident victor. "It's impolite of you to lurk about in the shadows when, clearly, every man here is vying for your attention."

Ezra offered her elder brother an obstinate smile. "It’s hardly my idea of enjoyable to be ogled a from every side when trying to have a simple conversation. Although, I must say, I'm not entirely sure your wife would agree."

From where she stood near the opposite side of the room, Matthias's bride Beth had taken the spotlight amid a generous flock of soldiers. She was chatting away at them in what appeared to be a state of unbridled excitement.

    Matthias frowned, unamused.

"All I'm saying is that you're both old enough now to leave, start families of your own. Father's content to support you for the time being, but don’t expect him to be as understanding in a year or so." It was on that note that Matthias pivoted around and hurried off in the direction of his wife.

"Well, that's just not fair," remarked Gabby once he was out of earshot. Upon zeroing back in the soft, irritable features of her older sister, Ezra loosened muscles she hadn't even realized were tense. [color=#55aaaa]"Matthias has no idea what it's like in our position. We've been through just as much as he has! The only difference between us is that it’s our obligation to be married while he has the freedom to do whatever he pleases!"

Though she agreed with the point Gabby was making, Ezra knew it was her duty to calm her down before she could say something she regretted- a habit she’d been cursed with for as long as Ezra could remember. She lay a hand on one of Gabby’s shoulders, fingers squeezing reassuringly into the lacy, cornflower blue fabric of her gown. [color=#55aaaa]“It’s not fair, but that’s no reason to start an uprising at a ball. If you’re going to have the heads of men, I’d suggest waiting until at least tomorrow evening.”

The makings of a smile twitched across Gabby’s rosebud lips, threatening to electrify her freckled countenance in its entirety. She spoke up before it could. “I’m sure I could do it, you know? It wouldn’t be that hard. We’re not the only women in the world who…”

But Ezra had already stopped listening.

She had stopped listening because, standing in the doorway with a group of boisterous, bold-faced young men, there was one face in particular that stood out to her. It matched the faces of his peers in confidence, but there was more to it. Even from where she stood several meters away, Ezra could see the ambition, the desperation, the intelligence… and, oddly enough, the familiarity.

i'm thinking a "what if" fruk roleplay where the characters are countries, and france feels that he may have gone a little far in helping alfred out in the revolutionary war, so he tries to reconcile some kind of friendship with an emotionally wounded england?

i also really like the idea of human scenario in which alfred, who was raised by a bunch of scandinavian immigrants in the colonies ((they did discover him first)), is sent to live in london with a family friend- arthur- during the revolutionary war, and in spite of their vastly differing opinions, they end up growing pretty close.

...And he was strutting in her direction.

Coming to her senses, Ezra spun hurriedly back around to face Gabby. The supple flesh of her cheeks and forehead had flushed a brilliant crimson hue, but Gabby didn't appear to notice. In fact, she must have sensed Ezra's unease at the sight of the oncoming soldier boy, because her seaglass green eyes were focused not on her, but on a point just over her shoulder.

Without bothering to mask her disdain, she quirked one delicately angled eyebrow before returning her attention to a stiff-limbed Ezra. "Interesting. An old colleague, Sister?"

Uncomfortable, Ezra shifted her weight from one leg to the other. "No, I've never seen him in my life. He has one of those familiar faces, is all. I think he's coming to speak with us... Come, let's go see how things are boding with Father's meeting." She offered an elbow to her sister, none too eager to escape the thick of the ball, but was rejected when Gabby gently pushed her arm back down to her side.

"His face isn't familiar, Ezra. He's far too attractive to be familiar. I know attraction when I see it; at least when it comes to you."

[color=#55aaaa]"What do you mean? I'm not-" she tried to protest, but was cut off mid-sentence.

She stood with her chin high and arms stiff at her sides, and observed the boy in front of her as though he were a particularly interesting, though no less welcome, species of insect. "Thank you," she replied once several seconds had passed.

She wasn't entirely sure what to do or how to act, but uncertainty was in her nature. Conversation had always been more of Gabby's niche while Ezra preferred to watch from the sidelines. In fact, her traitorous sister jumped in now with a smile and amicable curtsy. [color=#55aaaa]"Gabby Adamson; her sister." She interlocked her hands over her stomach and smiled.

Ezra couldn't believe how fast Gabby had transitioned from her irritability towards Matthias over the topic of marriage to forcing Ezra into unwanted conversation. Realizing that her choices were to either make nice or seem rude, she chose the path of the lesser of two evils and grudged a half-hearted smile.

[color=#55aaaa]"Thank you for your service, Nicholas Botello... If you don't mind me saying so, you don't look that old. Surely you haven't been with the military for too long?" If Ezra was telling the truth, she couldn't bring herself to stop staring at his face. No matter how many times her attention was drawn away or cast deliberately towards the black and white tiling beneath her feet, she found herself magnetized, perhaps even mesmerized, by his features. No doubt he was accustomed to the attention, as attractive as he was. But it was more than that for Ezra. There was something else there, something she couldn't place her finger on.

    LUCINDA ❝ LUCI ❞ SCHUYLER

    [center]

[color=#fff]Through the years, the youngest of the four Schuyler sisters has sailed through life without much of anything to worry about. She’s been pampered by her father and loved unconditionally by her older sisters. She presents as an angel before Mr. Schuyler and his cohorts, but there’s a catch to our charming little rich girl, and anyone who knows anything about how she likes to spend her free time know exactly what that catch is: Lucinda Schuyler is a troublemaker. From sneaking out of the house by the light of the moon, to befriending those who live in the “rougher parts” of New York, she has sought adventure for as long as she has been able to read about it. This, as you will come to learn, will soon turn out to be quite the problem.

A certain young man has recently blown into town, bringing with him a dashing, if not somewhat ill-advised, younger brother. The two of them are working together under the command of General George Washington. Although he has all the determination and intelligence of Alexander, the younger Hamilton brother has always been the lesser known of the two, a fact that he opts to change.

It is the night before her father’s ball, and Luci is taking a nighttime stroll through the slums of New York when she happens into a bar where, to her budding interest, a few soldiers are lounging about. Among these soldiers are the Hamilton brothers and their friends who take an immediate interest in the emboldened, young Schuyler. Despite the barkeep’s persistence that she leave, as a lone woman shouldn’t be left alone in the middle of the night with a bunch of uncouth soldier boys, the boys insist that she stick around for long enough to at least have a decent conversation… and maybe a drink.

Fast forward to the following night. Stars adorn the soot-stained sky like sparkling jewels, seeming only to exist as a decoration for the Schuylers’s ball. Everything is going as it would at any other: Angelica Schuyler, the oldest sister, flaunts her beauty and wit around the room. Eliza and Peggy claim stakes to the sidelines, occasionally making polite conversation with those who offer it.

And Lucinda? Well, she’s having a grand old time dancing around the ballroom with just about anyone she comes into contact with.

    Enter Hamilton boys and company.

Alexander's brother hadn't realized it at the time, but he was rather taken by the girl he met at the bar the previous night. Her spitfire and quirkiness were admirable traits in his eyes, especially in a woman of the day and age. She was an interesting character, and had been eating away at his thoughts all throughout the day and previous night. So when she catches his eye at the ball and he discovers that she's actually a Schuyler, the deal is sealed. Realizing that it's unlikely he'll come across a woman quite as intriguing as her, he becomes dead-set on making her a part of his life, no matter what it takes.

    This should be interesting.

    ✧ lucinda "luci" schuyler.

    ✧ twenty years old.

    ✧ born on november 1st, 1760.

    ✧ she's a scorpio- yikes.

✧ she's pretty blunt about her opinion, which makes her either very popular or unpopular with the people she associates with.

✧ secretly knows the streets of new york like the back of her hand.

✧ thrives on spontaneity, but has an aversion towards chaos. when things get out of hand, she generally counts on her sisters to pick up the mess.

✧ low-key the flirtiest schuyler sister.

✧ she's cross-dressed on more than one occasion, but only to help her sneak around at night. she'll take her comfy, expensive dresses to a tight-fitting pair of pants any day.

✧ a total sweetheart when daddy is watching.

✧ even though she knows the ways of the slums, she has that "rich girl naivety" that can be spotted a mile away.

✧ surprisingly, she loves children and wants to have some of her own one day, but has a legitimate fear of messing up or dying in childbirth and leaving her children motherless.

✧ she p much does what she wants while she's young, because she knows that she'll have to get married someday.

✧ as cliche as it is, she totally believes in true love. ((she has the stories eliza would tell her when they were younger to thank for this.))

Or maybe he did see it, and was simply too emboldened by cockiness to care. Either way, she could tell that there was nothing she could do to back out of this now- not without appearing rude, at least- so the easiest option by far was to simply ride the conversation out until the end.

She clasped her hands in front of her as he explained himself, but it was the mention of the Battle of Hilam that separated them a moment later. Hilam... She had been there before, hadn't she? Yes, she was quite certain of it. The name induced thoughts of red, of dizziness and the smell of gunpowder... Thoughts flitted like minnows beneath the glazed surface of her eyes, but dispersed as quickly as they had come.

She must have been mistaking. If she thought she had fought in Hilam, she must have been mistaking. Most likely she had passed through with her battalion at some point and was simply getting herself mixed up with some other battle.

[color=#55aaaa]"I agree with you there. Of course, that's not to say that every soldier here isn't lucky to be standing with us tonight." At last, she offered him a small smile; her version of an olive branch, if you will. Having been a soldier herself, she understood the extremities the men went through, often without a moment's notice. It was hard, and talking about it was enough to arouse some sympathy out of her.

[color=#55aaaa]"Were you shot?" came Gabby's unprecedented outburst. She tipped her head to the side, giving several dark chocolate curls just the push they needed to fall across her freckled forehead.

((she has the stories eliza would tell her when they were younger to thank for this.))

i've been wanting to do some hamilton-based roleplays, and since nobody else appears to be making them, i figured i'd take it upon myself to make this plotting thread ! (aka, i'm about to go on a tirade, and you can expect to see my icon everywhere bc i'm going to mass-produce hamilton threads and no one can stop me.)

i have a few interesting ideas up my sleeve, and am more than willing to listen to any others you guys might have! honestly, if you don't like anything i have on this thread, but still want to do a hamilton roleplay, all you have to do is pm me, and i'll see what we can do!

a lot of my ideas are oc-centric or genderbends, so if you're not down for a little bit of differentiation, then- again- resort to my pm box, and we'll see what we can do!

    [center]⸻⸻⸻

so i'm always a slut for genderbends, and think that genderbending the whole story and throwing some cutesy ships together would be fun! (i really enjoy gxg and gxb roleplays, but have never been the best at bxb!)

you guys, i have a thread here with an oc i made! she's a schuyler sister, and she's flawless. this is an oc x oc thread between her and hamilton's little brother, but we would be playing as canon characters as well.

maybe hamilton actually has a little sister who, considering the circumstances, has been granted special permission to travel with her brother and general washington. she could meet lafayette, laurens, and mulligan, or be taken under the wing of the schuyler sisters. maybe angelica or peggy could fall for her. or, alternatively, we could do this as a genderbend, and have the one of the schuyler brothers become enamored with her.

genderbent!burr x genderbent!hamilton where burr and hamilton must overcome their differences following burr's near murder of hamilton. (the duel)

idk anything with lafayette bc he's a cutie patootie.

[color=white]♛ also, we could do an oc x canon thread where we both play an oc, and both play a canon (or genderbend) love interest!

and, of course, suggestions are more than welcome!
