Try as she might, she couldn't help but follow that floating wisp moving around Feliks' head. It was just...so distracting how it seemed to keep flying around and around... The distraction was enough that she hadn't even noticed that she had physically been following it with her head. Her muzzle pointing towards its constant movement rather than Feliks himself, it was just...so annoying.

"The...", she would stop seeing the spirit moving again around Feliks' head, her eyes narrowing in annoyance as she looked to Feliks. "There is also the matter the cold months will be arriving soon as well as Deathstroke stated. If there is a chance the other clans will be raiding us, we will need to prepare twice as much so for the cold moons as well. This way if our supplies are damaged by a defensive battle, we still will have enough for the cold moons.", yet as she finished speaking she seemed to look towards Feliks with an obvious annoyance, a keen eyed observer would notice...she wasn't looking at him, but around him.

It was hard to believe that it was that time once again...she had been with this clan for many moons now, almost more than half the time of her life in this world. She knew that she wasn't a fighter of the group, that she was more focused on the defense rather than the offensive of her clan. While she knew this raid was right, to help their allies in recovering their own, to pursue that justice that was ill taken from their own. She didn't exactly like the thought of extending so much of their forces into these raids with the colder months beginning to arrive. The last thing they were needing was a raid upon them all when supplies were going to need to be kept in stock. Though the thought of hearing about these spirits roaming about always made her shiver back just a bit. She knew only a few who knew of her being able to see these spirits and yet despite how much they kept pestering here, she didn't want to look cag-mad in front of her family.

Yet this sudden shrinking back...left her unprepared for the words to come from Feliks next. "Th...Thank you Feliks!", she would begin to say struggling to get the very words out of her muzzle. Yet, even if she was physically unable to show it as much, her tail wagged with excitement as her ears perked. She had done it...she had finally fulfilled her promise to her Aunt, to repay the very promise she had failed long ago.

She moved with a slowed pace, not wanting to work herself up as she came by a seat. As she looked to the wolf, she wondered why her Opa continued to hold such deep seated anger toward him. Why it felt like there was something there yet to be explained. That frost on her paws still remained, seeming to not leave her within the thoughts, the most she truly could keep under control. At the question of how long she held these powers...well...that was a hard question to answer. "I...I can't say when truly, only that they started growing stronger after I returned from my growth ceremony after...I was sick.", She would begin to say as she looked the old wolf in the eyes. She still remembered the grief she had felt that day, the day she fell into the lake. "...promise not tell the others something?", she would softly say as she prayed not to look cag-mad. "I saw something...a spirit I think...I tried following it and fell in. I can't stop seeing them everywhere since my first time learning to hunt...these spirits. I don't want to sound cag-mad. I swear their there...the white lion as well, yet I'm scared, scared of why I can see them, of others seeing me cag-mad.", she would admit, feeling the frost on her paws thicken as she spoke. She took a few breaths trying to keep it calmed. "I just don't want my Opa to be disappointed, he's all I have left and yet no one here knows how to control the ice..."

Laika was never the biggest fan of fighting, especially with her lack of combat skills in the offensive. That was why she had decided in the first place not to join the other branch of her rank. She just wasn't the best fighter in her own opinion. With her lack of control on the ice as well..she worried on doing more harm than good. As she glanced towards Deathstroke, she just hoped that one day she could learn to control it better, before it got far too strong for her to go that far even.

As she arrived, she couldn't help but begin to notice just how few numbers were here. It really had been a couple of a bad weeks for them all as of late. It was almost a shame, and she couldn't help but feel partly responsible for. It would be a lie to say she hadn't been struggling with things as of late to keep such a bolstered activity as of late. Yet she did choose to arrive, as she too didn't wnat to see the complete fall of all those in the clan. She was guilty as of late, that was no denial. She still wanted to help however she could despite that.

She hadn't failed to notice the increase in the amount of wisp and spirits that had been around as of late. Why was this all happening? With so few others who could seem to see them like she could...she wondered if she should make attempts to try and see what it was bringing them abound as of late. There had to be a reason for why they were down here and not up in the stars above like the others right?

She shrugged her fur in response to a light chill. The chills of October, she always enjoyed the light breeze in the layers of fur that built up her body. Where the beauty of the leaves as they would change to the very colors of the stars above. Why was it that she felt like this was only the beginning. It had been no secret to her, to Feliks, to Deathstroke now even. That the ice she created was growing stronger and stronger. Whether it was because of her growth, or due to the very chills that were growing with these seasons. She would be lying to say she didn't feel insecure about it, scared even.

She wanted to see her Opa, he always seemed to have the right answers, always seemed to know just what to do. She couldn't help but remember the sparks of electricity she had felt from him when they had first met, how even he seemed to be unable to handle it with the raw emotion. Maybe, he would be able to help her out in some way.

When she was to walk this way, the last thing she expected to see what him lying on the ground. A paniced worry set into her marrow as her paws moved without thinking, the sound of thuds hitting the ground as she didn't even try to make her approach graceful as she approached the aging canine. That lullaby though, as she listened to it words...she felt an ease hit her, an air of calm...she remembered that tune from..so long ago..

Yet her Opa's words...Even he lived in his doubts...."Guten Abend, gute Nacht...von Englein bewacht, die zeigen im Traum...dir Christkindleins Baum...Schlaf nun selig und süß, schau im Traum's Paradies. Schlaf nun se..lig und süß, schau im Traum's Paradies.", the tongue one she used frequently to address her grandfather...her Opa. Yet her voice seemed more in a howl as she walked closer to her Opa, attempting to nuzzle him in the side. "Mutter...she sung that to me...to get me to sleep at the moons rising. I haven't heard it in forever..."

With each paw she took a slow step forward, trying not to look at it as she slowly made her way over. Each step pressing softly on the ground as she traversed the ice. Slowly the frost that had begun coating her paws seemed to fall off as she kept her thoughts...or at leas tried to, keep them focused just on Deathstroke. As she made her way, she kept her muzzle up, muttering some small prayer under her tongue. She had to keep her focus on those in front. Happy thoughts, don't picture the frozen plants of before, the ruined herbs a moon ago. She could do this if she just...didn't let her focus leave. As she neared further into the clearing, she seemed awfully silent as she lower her head, seeing not the ice beneath her, but the ground of the clearing. "I'm sorry...I'm just...scared.."

"I just wish it was that simple Feliks...", Laika would admit as she had her focus locked right onto that spirit in the water. She didn't know why others couldn't see them. Why it seemed her friend she had thought could see them was now gone. Yet even as she looked to it, looked to that spirit. It pained her knowing she could see these things without others. "I was being literal in what I meant...I saw that night occur days before...in the fires of the bonfire. I can't even remember the story I told, only that it felt like a long dream."

"That's why I blame myself, if I really saw this so far ahead...why was I too afraid to make a move to try and prevent it, prevent what I saw...why do I see these things...these...wisp in the water...all around the camp they watch and yet no one notices them. Is something just wrong with me?", Laika would admit as she would pulled herself away from the water. Pulling herself away from staring at that wisp in the water. That was how it clicked...she was looking for someone to understand, someone to make her not feel...so lonely in this path she could barely understand. That was why even now, she was afraid.

Then...it was one simple question...one simple question that snapped her out of it a bit, that made the ice on the edges start to crack from being freed of their control. Something that made even that shadow start to shimmer. "...The Stars...The...They make me feel like not everything is as far away as it seems...that someone up there...is helping us. According to my Opa...they mean my Vater and Mutter are still watching..."

Laika would have been deep in her thought, so wrapped up in the thoughts of the events of the Shadow's Veil, and the general stress of things as of late. That feeling in her marrow, the seeming void that felt uneasy to her. Why did she feel this way? Why did it feel like she couldn't get things right? That ice under her had begun to gain a dark shade, seeming to lose its reflective properties as it grew it lost the very light that brightened it, forming more spike like as it reached further.

And then..her name, her name was called and she found herself snapped out of her thoughts by a sudden and and stern voice. A gruffness to it belonging of age and yet... Something was soothing of it.

As she looked and saw him, Deathstroke, she realized she had revealed herself. Her ears drooped as she looked to the ice that had grown from her, how it had reached. She was scared to admit that it had been getting stronger and stronger the more she tried to keep it it from going. Out of her trance now, it seemed the ice was beginning to regain some of its reflective properties, the darkness inside it seeming to have disappeared as quickly as it had formed.

"I...I'm sorry.", she would say as she held her head downward. As her tailed lied lowered in response, and her ears folded. She knew she had messed up, just as she had with those herbs before. She couldn't control this ice, and yet every time she tried, it just made things worse. She couldn't help but notice another of those wisp watching as she raised her gaze slight, she hated how they kept focusing on her. Why no one else seemed to see them. What was wrong with her...she didn't want others thinking she was cag-mad.

Laika would have been broken of her thoughts by the sudden mention of her name. That dark spot in the ice she was standing over seeming to vanish in a snap. Yet, there was no reaction from her towards the shadow. It was almost like she hadn't even noticed it forming under her. "Feliks?", She would say as she turned her head to face him, noticing just how far the ice had spread under her. 'Has it really grown that far? I...didn't even notice...' As she processed those thoughts she turned back to the spirit she had seen in the water. Yet as she looked into the glowing water...it was gone? She could have sworn it was just there.

"Feliks..", she would begin to say again as she listened to him describe his thanks to her. Yet she dreaded what she could remember, what all had happened recently. "I was...just doing what I could to try and preserve a peace in these lands. Doesn't look like I'm too good at that though...", she would admit remembering what she had seen in that fire. It was her fault for what happened to her grandfather...that had to be why she had seen, why she had heard that.

"I have so many things to say, and yet...I'm afraid to ever say them. I...don't think I'm alright. Ever since we left the veil, I've felt this pit in my marrow I can't explain. Then during the bonfire...I was afraid to speak of something...I heard Ladon and my Opa, I could see something so foggy, and yet those words to escape me weren't my own. I saw...I heard. I think I saw Ladon's death...before it came to happen. I keep seeing these cloud like things in the water, always whispering and yet I can never reach to them.", she would speak in a troubled voice, the ice she was standing on seeming to gain some edging to it. She had been holding that in all this time, and she was afraid, afraid of what she had seen, of what she could hear. Yet she wasn't sure why, and her only other way of knowing, Ladon, was gone.

"Theres...another thing even...Wilhelmina, she's gone. I...was at Wind Haven, they brought me to the funeral.", Laika would admit as she looked back into the water, seeing that spirit again. Why did it always stay just out of reach...and yet as she looked to it, she failed to notice that shadow forming under her figure again in the ice. So dark, blocking the glowing ice directly under her form even. "I couldn't be there for Uncle Sam...and I couldn't be there for her, I couldn't even be there for Ladon."

What was everyone gathering around before? Was something happening on the borders again? She couldn't help but tilt her head just the slightest bit as she began to approach. An ever familiar scent met her nose as she arrived. Was that? What were they doing here? As she continued to push her way closer, she spotted the elderly wolf there among the others. She slipped past Feliks and Deathstroke, hearing only the briefest of their words as she arrived last. "Lucent? Is that you?", Laika would question with a softness to her voice. The pup stood tall as she looked to the elderly canine. Her head was slightly tilted, her ears folded back as she gave the canine a confused look.

As she heard the expression to stay with the Thunderlands for a bit, her eyes widened just then. "Is something going on at the Wind Haven?", she would ask hoping that everything was going alright with the clan. She knew the death had been hitting many there rather hard lately, but she hoped that they were managing to fare well. She knew it wasn't easy for her, no doubt it would be much harder on those who spent so much more time with them. Still as the pup looked to the elderly wolf, there was a certain care held in her brown eyes, thin specks of white in them as her tail hung low, a genuine concern for them. "I'm sure no one here is going to mind, how could I say no after the Wind Haven helped me so much?"

She had wanted to keep an eye on the elderly dire wolf, ever since she had come to visit, Laika had held a bit of worry for her elder. She knew Wilhelmina's death had hit everyone who knew her rather hard. Seeing the Wind Havener come to seek refuge made her wonder if she was being hit hard by the fact. While she found herself rather busy already with her general chores, there was something she felt was required of her to keep an eye upon them, to make sure they were doing alright. She chose to follow Lucent out here to make sure she didn't get lost primarily. Laika was younger yes, but it was part of her responsibility to check upon everyone, to make sure they were faring well. Even if they weren't necessarily full members of the clan. She did it because she cared.

When she saw the panther, bird like creature begin to approach the elderly wolf, she couldn't help but feel the muscles in her body begin to tense. Even as she stood there, mesmerized by the sight of those wings, remembering her own dreams of the night stars. She was stuck there for a solid minute or two until she was taken out of her daze. "Lucent!", Laika would speak with a light tune to her voice. "Are you alright?", she would ask of Lucent, cautious of the pantherbird. There was no telling whether they were here for just friendly reasons just yet. Even while mesmerized by those wings, she couldn't forget her own promises to the clan. "May I ask...why you are in the Thunderlands? You have far passed the scent post markings?", she would question with a certain warmth to her voice, the wolfdog held a soothing tone with which no true malice formed in. Yet young as well in voice, the wolf dog clearly not past their pup stages just yet.

Laika hadn't been expecting a scent like that to be at the border. Shadow's Veil? This soon after their last visit? This was very peculiar...and yet she found herself approaching it. There he sat on the border, this creature she had yet to have seen prior. As she approached she was a bit shocked by the size of them at first, although she knew she herself wasn't fully grown yet...still. It seemed her nervousness was even beginning to take effect as a thin layer of frost formed over her paws, the small patch of grass directly touching her gaining it's own small layer of frost. "Can I...help you?", she would speak softly and yet cautiously. She didn't recognize who this was, she didn't see them on her last visit to the Shadows and yet their scent bore its markers some.

The three quarters wolf dog may not be the bravest, but she still was curious why this stranger was here. She had to be a shield for her clan, like she had promised. She only doubled down on so with the death of those she considered friends only mere days ago. That was why even with this creature here at their border, even with her fear, her nervousness she wouldn't back away. The ice that was left, kept a small layer under her to help her reinforce that...even if she couldn't control it's growth. Was that why even now...she was still afraid?

This wolf, her Opa seemed to despise him so much and yet, Laika could never figure just quite why all of the hatred formed. Yet as she watched him attacking with a actual weapon, she couldn't help but notice just how different it was to her own. She always preferred hunting herself, not using weapons but rather her own body. Yet with this curse of hers, this ice she could create...she was afraid. Feeding on these very thoughts, her emotion fueled her lack of control on her powers. A small layer of frost coating her front right paw and the near ground around her.

She could only remember how much it had climbed up on her during her visit with Feliks to the Shadows Veil, she had no control over this curse she believed, and she only could remember the fear in herself afterwards, how she hadn't even felt the cold of the ice.

Others called it a beauty and yet she couldn't see how, all the cold did was kill the greens in the forest. It was unable to handle such intense cold. She still remembered the herbs she had frozen by accident, when they had thawed they were utterly ruined, useless to use...how could anyone see a beauty in ice?

Her doubts, her fears, they fed her mental lack of control, and that was just why the frost under her expanded, to a noticeable distance...easily for someone so much better than the three quarter wolfdog at noticing things.

So much had happened as of late, so many deaths of good friends, and yet hearing Ladon's name up there, struck her hard. She remembered how much of a friend he had once been. How much he had worried for her when she was getting sick. After her talks with him that night, after the experiences of that day. Laika thought maybe she was beginning to understand what he had meant by it. Was that why he visited her that night however? Simply to see if she had seen his killings ahead of time? That these prophecies could possibly be true? Yet, there she was during that bonfire, what she had seen, what the whispers had said in her ears, that story they told her of. If Ladon had been sure of what she could see...why did he take care of her when she was starting to get sick?

Then there were the general politics of things to go along with it, and yet while Feliks spoke, she felt that nervousness running through her again as she was invited to speak. Climbing to where her voice could at least be heard, she would try her best to recount the events. "Unfortunately...what Feliks has said was true...mostly. Emotions were riled up during the exchange and thus lead to a breakdown in the conversation. We moved from a discussion of peace, to one of anger. Unfortunately the leader of Shadow's Veil moved to shoot down my own thoughts before I even held the chance of saying them. Accosting myself and the rest of us as guilty before I really had the chance to talk. A move, I almost have to agree with Feliks...is hypocritical concerning their arguments of Feliks' response to the apprentice that was harmed under our own care. However....", she would begin to say as her voice began to break up, a light frost was forming on her paws from the nervousness of speaking up here. "H...However, I hope that one day...we can see a peaceful alliance reform once again, and will be working with the other ambassadors here to see if we can figure out a way together to accomplish such.", She would speak as her thoughts and fears ran rampant, was she speaking too fast? Too brashly?

"Deathstroke, Paperbird, I give you a welcome to the clan and will gladly help give you two a guide around the area if you need so...", Laika would make her final words as she would attempt to make her way back down without all the attention to her hopefully..

If your looking for bonding, I would love to have someone helping Laika learn to fight better. She isn't really the best fighter yet desires to be the shield of her clan. <3

    FELIKS :

"Feliks, as a leader and friend I respect him even if I don't always agree. He was the one who found me when I had been lost, when the fire had separated me from my home in the Thunder Lands. He even helped me adjust back to living with the camp, visiting me when I lost my uncle. When he stand up for himself, he becomes someone I admire so much, I wish to be like him, to be able to stand in the face of rivals and danger and do such and not cower down. His temper though, I hate to say I think it was part of the reason we couldn't maintain the alliance in the Shadows Veil. Not all of the reason, Ver and the leader of the clan were also big parts to that reason, but for as much as I respect him, as much as I care for him, it was hard seeing him like that..."

    DEUTSCHLAND :

"My Opa, he's done so much for me, taken care of me when I was sick, watched out for me when I was down. I like to make myself believe that there is a softie to him, that not everything is as it seems when it comes to him. I love him for who he is and yet I can't seem to make see that. I can't help but think he still sees me as a kid who can't make the best decisions myself. I know it's only because he cares for me though. I wish he would come out of that den of his and hang out with us more often. After what I heard in that fire, I'm really worried for him. I just wish I could admit to him about what I could see, about what I can hear. That I have this thing called the sight... That Ladon had told me about these dreams being more than such. I'm scared he'll see me as different, as cag-mag and won't want anything to do with me. I never hear anyone else mention about seeing these spirits, and I want Opa to be proud of me, not scared."

    ELLIJAH :

"My Uncle, he isn't Samuel, and yet he still is someone I can't help but admire for their willingness for others of the clan. Maybe that why I have such high regard for him even if we've barely talked much. He reminds me of Uncle Sam. I know I'm not the strongest myself, but maybe if I could learn more on how to become stronger, to become a shield for the clan. Maybe I can earn his respect back. Not as family, but as a fellow clan member. I noticed by the lake he seems to stare towards what others have said was just air as well, is it possible...that he can see them too? Am I not really alone?"
