Kaelin quickly grabs the blade from Keith. It was similar in aesthetic to the Red Paladin's bayard, although it was the bright blue of the castle instead of the crimson color of his weapon. But the similarities stopped there. For starters, while his was more of a thick broadsword, this one followed the design of a rapier. Thin and sharp, it was well balanced and lightweight. A semi-circular shape served as a cross guard.
Kae's grip on the handle was almost perfect, though a little tight.
//I am a total weapons nerd, though I know most about knives and rifles. I am going to go into great detail on that aspect, so if I say any words you don't know ask lol
-
Kaelin copies his grip and nods. She honestly couldn't believe this was happening. She was actually going to learn how to fight. And she was ready. The one thing that Kae hated about living in the Castle of Lions is that she could never help. She was a burden without any positives. But no longer.
-
It took a short moment for Kae to muster enough courage to just jump in, but when she did, she surprised herself. Apparently she picked up a few things from all that time watching Keith, because she didn't suck. Sure, she wasn't an expert by any standards, stumbling here and there and missing some strikes, but she was much better than the average beginner.
It turned out the sword fit her perfectly. Made more for agility than anything, it was just her style.
Before Kaelin knew it, she found herself thrusting her blade into the Gladiator's chest. As it deactivated and exploded into digital nothingness, she was out of breath. And she had absolutely no idea how she did it.
I mean, sure, she had spent hours watching Keith do this, albeit on much higher levels, but the closest thing she had done to actual swordplay was miming moves with her bow when she was bored. Was it beginner's luck? That was the explanation she mentally decided on as she looked to the Red Paladin.

Jess is done! Still working on Phoebe though.
-
Okay I'll do that!
Her channel's color is purple.
-
Jess glances at the invite on her phone, then at the house in front of her. It was the right address. As she walked up to the door, she contemplated how to announce her arrival. Yell inside? Knock on the door? Just walk in? The role player decides on the last option as she finds the entrance wide open.
As soon as she enters the house, she heard chatter coming from the kitchen. Walking in, she saw that she was one of the last people to arrive. Of course, she had watched Mark and Sean for years, so she recognized them immediately, and after a moment she saw Dan and Casper. She didn't know the others in the room, though.
"Hey guys! Sorry I'm a bit late. I got held up at the hotel," she explained with an apologetic smile.
-
Kae was about to say something in protest, but the gladiator was on her before she could get a sound out. The girl was having a bit of trouble parrying the machine's blow at this level, but she was able to hold it off.
Though it took much longer than last time, and she was nearly knocked over multiple times, Kaelin just barely manages to defeat the gladiator. After the thing exploded into nothingness, she had to take a knee. Her arms and legs felt like lead, and her breaking was shaking and ragged. Everything was sore.
-
Jess lets out a light laugh. "Please. I have two little kids at home. Throwing pizza is nothing," she says, giving him a smile. It was fine that they were being immature. She was as well. Though she only throws food if her kids do it first.
-
Jess smiles. "They're doing great! Joseph started kindergarten this year, which is absolutely insane. I can't believe it was five years ago that he was born." she says with a nostalgic sigh. She started her channel only a month after she gave birth to Joseph, and the fact that she had been making videos for that long was just as crazy to think about.
"Julia is adorable as ever. She's three now. God, I hope she never grows up," Jessica says. After a quick moment, she asks, "Sooo... what's going on with you? Anyone special in your life?" What she thought was a subtle glance in Sean's direction was blatantly obvious.
-
Kaelin gratefully accepts the drink with an appreciative smile. Taking a long drink, she looks towards Keith. "You make it look so easy, you know, going rounds with that hardly breaking a sweat. And I'm sitting here with achey arms only after two rounds."
-
-
Whoops! Sorry about that! And yes, it is.
-
[ooc: I have regionals for wrestling today so I probably won't be on too much.]
When Phoebe arrives, she sees the door wide open. Walking inside, she calls out, "Yo! Wassup everyone?" When she notices the pair cleaning up the stain on the floor, she lets out a large gasp and puts on an offended face. "Did you have a pizza fight? Without me?!" She sounded like she was only half joking.
Jess laughs at Faith and Ethan's conversation, and decides to roll with it. "You can hang with me, big sister Edith!" she says with a small giggle tagged onto the end
-
///sorry for taking so long! Also on mobile.
A competitive look sets on Phoebe's face. Grabbing the crust out of the air she takes a bite out of it. Striking an overly dramatic anime pose, she points the crust at Caspar. "I must defend my honor as food fighter! I challenge you TO A DUEL!!!" She takes a glance around. "OUTSIDE! I ain't cleaning on vacation."
Jess pulls out her phone and gets ready to record. She was planning on making a compilation of clips from this trip to post on her vlogging channel, and though Phoebe acting ridiculous would probably not be an uncommon theme, this looked like it was gong to be hilarious.

//sooooo sorry! I've been really sick for the past week.
Taking a deep breath, Kae stands up, picking up her sword. "I-I think I'm ready to keep going," she says, looking at Keith. He looked deep in thought. "...Keith?"
She, as well, was yet to notice Blake.
-
/// Suuuuper sorry! I've been sick for the past week :/
Ducking down, the slice barely misses her head. "Woah! You're not a bad shot!" She says with a grin. Turning around, pizza in hand, she narrows her eyes. "Now... where do you go...?"
Jess follows along with the group.//low muse
-
Kaelin nods, taking a fighting stance. As the gladiator approached, she parries its blows. As she is fighting, the girl notices someone watching. It was the woman from the transmission, Blake?
The short distraction had opened the opportunity for the gladiator, which it took. She was barely able to duck away from the blow.
-
Hearing its approach, Kae turns around and begins to fight the smaller gladiator. Keeping it occupied, she defended herself and Keith. Fighting side by side with him felt... nice. Fun, almost.
It was fairly easy to disarm and defeat the lower level gladiator. But it would have been much, much more difficult without Keith helping her with the larger one.
