She chose a great time to join Shadowclan.

Attracted by the sounds of opposition, the molly padded out of the warrior's den. Dark ears perked curiously, the molly padded her way to the front of the whispering crowd of confused and worried cats. A challenge, they said, on Lionstar's competency. By none other than Toadpetal's old mate. Oooh, how fun. Lightning twitched her whiskers, sneering in approval as she admired the male standing in the center of attention. He'd either lose and be banished, or succeed and overhtrow the old man. Either way, very entertaining for her.

Her bet was on Lionstar - he had extra lives and experience, plus many supporters, so she expected he'd be the one to win. Still though, her hope was on Quail. She didn't really know the guy, but unfortunately for Lionstar, anyone would be better than he. After all, Quail was right that fear and apathy was not what made a good and popular leader. The fact that he was being challenged in itself was shameful. Foreststar had never once been disapproved as ruler of Thunderclan, even when she'd been beaten, cats still chose to side by her because she was not only smart and brave, but compassionate and thoughtful. Either Quailfeather would become leader, or Lionstar would take this as the lesson it was and improve himself before another cat decided they'd make a better ruler of the marshlands.

"GO QUAIL!" Lightningspirit shouted with a laugh.

"Why the hesitance?" came a confident voice, followed by a flash of flaming orange before Lightningspirit presented herself before the warrior, toad hanging from her jaws. "I thought this was a delicacy among you swamp-borns?" he questioned, cobalt eye aglow with amusement. It soon died, though, as her nose wrinkled with distaste. Putting the toad down, she stuck out her tongue in disgust, before spitting on the ground. "Too bad im not shadowclan born, else it wouldn't gross me out so much," she said with a chuckle, before smiling at the somali. She looked him up and down, thoughtful, before shrugging and jumping right into it, "you're Toadstep's old mate, right?" she grinned, her teeth still stained with toad's blood, "i don't believe we've met, im Lightningspirit, who're you? "

Jaggedpaw's need to impress her father was almost heartbreaking. Lightningspirit, having had absent parents, never really felt that kind of spark - save for when she'd been unofficially adopted by Foreststar. But even then, she had grown out of her kitten phase of wanting Forest's approval for every little thing. Such a need was dangerous as well as nice. But it bordered more on the perilous, what with Lionstar not as fatherly as he could be.

Still, Lightningspirit smiled at Lionstar, glad to see he was trying. Letting out a loud purr, she nodded her head in agreement, "You did awesome Gigi! Next time, try and put all your weight on your front paws, so that you won't be so out of balance - and don't be shy to use your tail, too, you have it just for that purpose," she suggested, patting Jaggedpaw on the head.

//OML muddy is so freakin' pure

"Ill come," purred Lightningspirit, ever eager to be distracted by a patrol. The molly sauntered over, coming to stand beside Lionstar. She gave a gently smile to Jaggedpaw, before eyeing the one called Mudskipper up and down curiously. He wasn't much younger than her, only by a handful of moons, but he acted like a child. Then again, he reminded her so much of Mintflower, it was hard for her not to sorta maybe like him. At least give him a chance.

Lightningspirit never really thought to question or be confused by her sexuality. She didn't seek to be defined by it, so she didn't bother going out of her way to find a label. She liked and flirted with who she liked, thats all that mattered to her. Whether that made her pan, bi or flexible, she didn't really care. Don't badmouth her and she wouldn't return the favor, thats all anyone should care about. Still though, she wasn't like other cats who needed to define their feelings. She understood the security in knowing just who you were. She wouldn't hate on anyone confused and looking.

Trotting over curiously beside Blueblossom, the molly blinked when she overheard the molly's concerned inquiry. Honestly, she hadn't come to check up on Sorrel, but to ask her if she wanted to go on a patrol. Glancing back at the older molly, she tilted her head to the side, now intrigued. What could be getting her down? "Everything good?" she asked wonderingly.

//iF STONE DOESNT HAVE A MENTOR I NOMINATE LIGHTNING

If this kid didn't have a mentor, Lightningspirit would gladly take her on.

She remembered when she had lost her own sight in one eye. The physical pain had been nothing compared to the ripples of embarrassment and self-loathing that came from that particular brand of defeat. She had used to love the idea of having scars peppering her pelt. How bad ass it would've been. How tough. But in actuality, it wasn't as grand. Especially not when that damn bloodclanner nailed her in the face and she lost her sight. The flame-point remembered working as hard as possible trying to teach herself how to fight and hunt with only 50% vision. Thankfully, she'd had Pumpkinpatch around to help her out, as the half-scarred molly had known how to work with one eye as well. Now, it would seem, it had come full circle.

Pushing out of the bushes behind Lionstar, having been on his hunting patrol, the molly watched sympathetically as Stonepaw in a fluster denied being unwell. Liar. "Liven up kiddo, it's not the end of the world!" she said, her single cobalt eye flashing with challenge, "Everyone has impressive fails once and a while! You'll get the hang of things, trust me" she stuck out her tongue, blinking her remaining eye in a terrible attempt at winking. Still though, it was kind of nice, not being the only cyclops in shadowclan. She smirked, lifting her chin as she already imagined making a tough one out of the kid.
