minseok laughed as alexander admitted that he couldn’t see minseok in the military. “well, yeah, we don’t have to worry about it,” he agreed, shaking his head. “thank god for that. and the kids aren’t going to have to do it, either- well, i mean james won’t. louisa wouldn’t have to, either way.”

“i am, too. i mean, it wasn’t like i was going to drag you off to korea or something and force you to live there. that’d be shitty of me,” he laughed as he pulled into the restaurant’s parking lot. “me too,” he admitted when alexander said he was starving, getting out of the car and taking out the wheelchair for alexander.

( ajdhjas i'm sorry i didn't reply to this very quickly !! if i do this again,,, like bump the thread or message me because this happens wayyyy too often lmao )

reina was not having a very good day. she'd just been sent on a mission of sorts but, after darting into what looked like a broom closet because footsteps were steadily heading towards her, but when she'd exited? the hallway hadn't looked the same. and she hadn't been too alarmed at first, maybe she'd accidentally stumbled into a teleporter. they were commonplace, used to get from one place to another quickly. so she'd obviously just been moved. maybe it was a different part of the building.

upon walking around, though, she realized that this didn't look like the government's headquarters at all. it just looked like .. a building. some random building. and when she darted out of sight of some people, they weren't wearing the typical government outfit: bright white and almost blinding, it looked soft but was truly hard as steel in order to prevent assassinations. she wasn't in the building anymore, that was for sure. but she couldn't remember ever seeing outfits like these before. dull colours, nothing like the bright ones of today. because the brighter your clothes, the more likely you would be noticed- that was hard to achieve when the land is as crowded as it is.

however, going the way that the people had come from, she emerged from the hallway into a large area where there were tons of people. and she was glad she wasn't wearing clothes that she would've worn some other days, the metallic yellow ones that hurt her eyes. because of what she was doing, she had been wearing simple black clothes, ones that gave her freedom to move as she pleased instead of restricting her. and these clothes helped her fit right in with this crowd. not one neon shirt in sight. and no one had disgusting eye makeup on that made them look as white as paper with bright colours accentuating even the slightest feature, no one had hair the same colour as their clothes. everyone looked about as dull as they could be.

wandering through the building looking completely awed, she couldn't really tell where she was. there were large signs above doors, some saying things like american eagle, or chapters, or justice. words she knew, but why were there clothes inside two of those stores? and why on earth would they look like that- selling clothes such as that was a terrible way to make a living. no one would buy them.

deciding she might as well see what was truly behind these doors - maybe the 'glass' was all illusions? - she hurried to one. but she wasn't keeping her eyes in front of her, they were glancing this way and that, trying to see something that would give her a hint to where she was. an american was an old-time thing, before new leaders emerged and nations were formed, countries taken over- so why it was here, that was a bit of a mystery. she found that her eyes stared at that sign a lot more than at anything else, even the people didn't get as many stares. their clothes were weird, sure, but she'd been taught that clothes like that didn't deserve a second glance.

however, this soon proved to be a bit hazardous, as she felt herself collide with someone as she entered the room. she'd been going maybe a bit fast in her haste to see what was in here, so she couldn't stop herself from stumbling and even falling onto the ground, her gaze turning upwards in slight fear now. she almost expected someone from the government to be in front of her. but it was just a normal person- wearing the same kind of clothes that everyone else was. "oh- i'm sorry!" she apologized quickly. "i wasn't looking where i was going- it's the same as it was from outside?" her attention had drifted elsewhere, seeing that everything on display was exactly what she had seen from the outside. so it wasn't an illusion, then.

reina stared at the hand that was extended to her before reaching out to it almost tentatively, the other person helping her to her feet and assuring her that she didn't need to be apologizing. well, that was nice of her!! reina gave the other woman a smile, thanking her silently. the response she got concerning the windows, though, made reina think that the other was very confused.

"taken anything? no, of course not! i need to be in the perfect mental state-" she explained quickly, shaking her head. speaking of that, she probably needed to get out of here. wherever... 'here' was. maybe she should ask? as 'out of touch' this woman who she'd crashed into seemed, maybe she could ask her about her whereabouts. it'd help her get back on track, back to what she needed to do. and with that in mind, she raised her eyebrows questioningly. "if you ... don't mind me asking, where exactly are we right now??" she asked. hopefully it wouldn't raise too many questions if she didn't know where she was.

what if all of these people were government workers? actually- no way. these clothes looked like the same material, but reina was sure that if she reached forward to touch it, it wouldn't feel the same. they weren't designed to protect the body from weapons.

the three continued to glare at junghwa as he defended hanjae, hyungmin rolling his eyes at what was said. he obviously found the fact that junghwa was 'friends' with hanjae to be highly unbelievable, but he didn't say anything to counter that. hanjae was just as surprised, glancing between hyungmin and junghwa almost a bit nervously, fidgeting around in his seat. junghwa had stepped forward again, saved him from those three, and now he was calling him his friend- why was he doing all of this just to keep them off his back??

"high demand. yeah, right," hyungmin snorted, shaking his head. "no one can stand that jjokbari. don't get yourself involved with him," he added before turning his back on hanjae and junghwa, leading the two others back to their seats. they seemed to have realized that it wouldn't be very smart to keep going, not with junghwa there to leer at them and be hanjae's little guard dog, nor with this many students around that would be around and witness anything that happened. something like this, mocking and name-calling, wouldn't get reported. but had it gone further, someone would squeal to a teacher.

once hyungmin and the others were gone, hanjae turned to look at junghwa again, though didn't really catch his eye. "thank you," he told junghwa for the second time that morning. "you saved me again," he then joked a little bit, his voice weak. he felt like he needed to say more than that, though. he just felt like he had to. he couldn't leave it at that. so that was why he hesitantly added, "..... thank you," once more. you can never be too grateful, honestly.

".. i'm sorry you had to see that," hanjae then said, eyes darting down towards the desk. his voice was slow, making sure that he was pronouncing every single syllable correctly so junghwa wouldn't think he was a dunce of sorts. he just wanted to seem normal, not just be the japanese kid who was still trying to learn korean.

( i feel bad bc i had to search up derogatory terms for japanese people

ajdhakfsf also if i use korean words that don't have a direct meaning in english, i'll probably do what i did here where you hover over it to see

if you're mainly a mobile user i can just write it out underneath my post instead!! )

once he’d gotten alexander into the wheelchair, minseok got both of the kids out and held their carriers carefully. when they were leaving the restaurant, at least he could get help then. “i’m starving,” he sighed, a grin coming to his face as he looked up at the restaurant, waiting for alexander before hurrying towards the doors carefully.

minseok sighed with relief when he saw chaewon and his parents sitting at a table once they had entered the restaurant, beckoning alexander over and hurrying off to join them. “it’s nice to see you,” he said happily as he got the kids figured out, guessing that he’d have to ask for two high chairs at some point.

minseok sat down with his family - minus minhyuk - after giving them hugs. they all moved to give alexander hugs as well. “hi, alexander,” chaewon greeted him with a smile. “ben says hi, too, by the way! he had work, so he couldn’t be come,” she explained with a dramatic sad sigh.

"l.a?" reina repeated, furrowing her eyebrows. had she even heard of that city? she only looked even more confused upon the girl saying that they were in america. "you mean, america-america? like- united states of america??" she asked, looking a little bit worried and also a little bit .. intrigued. and a tad excited, too. was this all just some big ploy, or had she actually managed to do something that was still even a bit of a hard thing to accomplish in her time?

wait- what was the first rule of time travel? don't let them know that you're from the future, right? is that right? but why can't i tell her- there's no harm in it.. she thought to herself. "uhh, no.. i don't need to call anyone. i have my own phone," she lied. phones were a thing of the past at her point. sure, their idea still existed, where you could get in contact with other people. but as far as how they were presented, they were all much smaller. their main use was just contact, you could use a variety of other things, better things, for taking pictures and seeing stuff.

hanjae had been silently worrying about if his words had come out right or not when junghwa spoke, telling him that he wasn't going to judge hanjae about how he spoke. this made him blink in surprise, staring at junghwa. this is really coming from .. him? hanjae's eyes narrowed a little bit, wondering if he should actually take what junghwa was saying seriously or not. the other seemed to notice this, as he followed it up, telling hanjae that he was better than the other three. ".. thanks?" hanjae responded, a little uncertainly. was that good? maybe he should just appreciate that junghwa, someone that other students feared, actually was being nice to him.

when junghwa offered to leave, hanjae turned around (pretty obviously, but why did he care right now) and stared at hyungmin and his group. the three were sending him and junghwa death glares, it was easy to see what they were thinking right now: we'll wait for our chance. you'll see. hanjae quickly turned away, a small frown on his face. it felt safer to have junghwa next to him, knowing that he might not be bothered while in his company, but he couldn't stick to junghwa like glue. and he didn't particularly want to, hanjae was prouder than that. "you can go if you want," he said, shrugging his shoulders. the stiff pronunciation he'd been using before had relaxed a bit. "i think our break might be almost over, anyway. i'll be okay until the next class starts," he added, trying to make it seem like he could actually take care of himself instead of needing junghwa to come rescue him.

"yeah.. we do.." chaewon laughed when alexander pointed that out, shaking her head. at alexander's news, she gasped. "really? you'll be able to walk again?" she asked, practically jumping out of her seat. "alexander- that's amazing!!!"

"it is-" minseok agreed as his parents joined in as well, talking about how great that news was.

"i'm so happy for you two," chaewon gushed, rushing over in order to hug both alexander and minseok, who was grinning. "now you don't have to worry about getting an elevator or something in your house!" she added almost jokingly, then giving alexander a little smile. "and you don't have to worry about how you're going to have sex, you sex-fanatics," she teased quietly so her parents couldn't hear.

"it would've- but i'm sure that would cost a lot of money," she pointed out, a laugh slipping out of her mouth. at alexander's words, she wiggled her eyebrows. "you should expect it by now," she sighed with a small shrug of her shoulders. "but i can't be entirely to blame. you two are the ones having sex all the time. you're the one who asked me about how you two were going to have sex when your wrist was hurt."

“i really bet you appreciated it,” chaewon responded, winking right back at alexander. “bet you two probably had fun that night..” she added teasingly, wiggling her eyebrows at alexander suggestively. minseok, meanwhile, was pretending not hear any of this and instead focused on his parents, keeping a conversation with them so they didn’t hear.

“ohh, okay, we can just talk about it later,” she laughed and poked alexander’s side, a mischievous smile on her face. “i like making minseok squirm a bit. it’s funny,” she added, giving her brother a smile when he turned to glare at her for a second. “anyway! minhyuk is being a slowpoke, we should order without him!”

"no, he hasn't called," chaewon explained, shaking her head. minseok squeezed alexander's hand a little. chaewon then continued, "i say we go on without him. maybe he couldn't get out of work," she hummed, sliding into her seat and shrugging her shoulders. we can worry if he doesn't come for a little bit, she decided.

(hdajf guess who's sick today!! fun fun fun!!)

"maybe after we order," minseok said softly, nodding his head in agreement with alexander as he also got a menu, still holding onto alexander's hand. he'd been here before with his family, it'd been a little while ago but he remembered the food being good. "this was delicious," he said to alexander, pointing something out on the menu.

(i will, i'm watching it because i watched it chapter two yesterday. it was goooooood)

minseok gave him a small grin when the other said he might get what he'd suggested. "really?" he said. he didn't really know why that made him so happy. he eagerly turned to his own menu, searching for something that he might want to order- he didn't want to be boring and get the same thing.

(omg it was amazing??? it was the quality content i signed up for not even gonna lie

lmao my friend and i went into the wrong theatre at first and we were so confused when the opening scene for joker started playing)

"i don't know.." minseok murmured as he looked everything over, a small frown on his face as he thought about it. "this sounds good," he hummed, pointing at one thing, "but i don't know. there's lots of things that i might like-" he added, shaking his head. "you pick for me."

(we were running out of the theatre and i left my drink behind :(( oof)

minseok looked over the thing that alexander had picked for him, a smile coming to his face. "yeah, i'll get that," he agreed, nodding his head and reaching up to press a kiss to alexander's cheek. "it sounds delicious. thank you," he added, giving alexander a grin and resting his head on alexander's shoulder.
