minseok let out a little giggle. "yeah, i'm looking forward to it, too," he agreed with alexander. "and we've got two kids, as well. we're gonna raise them and we're gonna be great parents and there might be a few bumps along the way because nothing is perfect but-" he finally took a breath "-we're gonna stick together throughout it and we're going to be as happy as we can be."

minseok smiled at his words. "i didn't really think you were anything special when i first met you," he teased alexander. "you were just a mean criminal who was making me steal shit. then i warmed up to you a little bit," he added jokingly, kissing alexander back when the other leaned down to connect their lips.

"i'm sure that if some psychologist looked at me, they'd be sure it was stockholm syndrome," minseok joked around. "i don't know. there was just something about you. i didn't like you at first, but then you started being nice to me and stuff, and then we were going out on like .. little dates, and i found out that you were just a big sappy dork," he added.

"and i'd do absolutely anything for you, too," minseok agreed with him. "i love you a fucking lot, too. you and my family and the animals and- and the kids!" he added, ticking each of them off on his fingers now. "i still can't believe we're actually going to be raising two little humans. they're gonna grow up in this house and they're gonna grow up one day and we're going to remember all the shit we went through with them-"

"my family really loves you, too. and now you're not the newbie in the family, we've got ben here too," he pointed out with a grin. "it was a little weird when you were gone. i barely spoke english," he admitted, shaking his head. "at least they're like- starting to talk- and they'll be walking soon i bet!!"

"yeah- there wasn't really a need for me to talk in english besides when i went out of the house, right? unless ben was around. i mean, everyone in my family, we don't speak english when it's just us. i don't think i'll ever forget korean since it's my native language, but it helps me keep up with it," he said with a grin. "you'll be around for their first steps. that's going to be great."

minseok glanced at alexander as the other’s voice got soft. “i wish you could’ve been here for all of that,” minseok sighed sadly, clinging to alexander’s side. “i remember that james talked first, it kind of sounded like he was saying ‘papa’ but it came out kind of wrong, kind of like ‘baba?’ anyway- i was putting him to sleep and i just burst into tears,” he added quietly.

minseok could see that alexander was getting upset, but he didn’t really know what else he could do to console him. he kind of just sat there holding onto alexander tightly, silent as he tried to think of something that he could say that might help alexander out.

minseok finally couldn't take the silence any longer. "you know," he started softly, glancing downwards, "you might've been gone for a while, but.. you're back now. you're back and you're not leaving anytime soon. sure, you weren't around for four months, but it was also just when they were babies. isn't that better than being around for all of this, then having to leave for four.. years, even, when they're older?"

“is there something you’d rather miss? their graduation, their first day of school, their first boyfriend or girlfriend..” minseok responded softly, shaking his head. “i don’t think it would matter when you left. you were going to miss something extremely important no matter when you left,” he pointed out.

“still, what were the chances of that happening??” minseok asked, raising his eyebrows. he frowned as alexander began crying. “it’s okay- it really is. you couldn’t stop it. and i’m sure that kids and i don’t hold it against you.”

"yes, i understand that. i know why you're sad about this," minseok murmured, nodding his head and reaching up to wipe away a couple of alexander's tears. "if i was the one who'd been missing for four months, i'm sure that i would be in the exact same boat as you are right now," he admitted.

"i've just been trying to stay as optimistic as possible," minseok sighed as alexander commented on how he'd be a huge mess. "i was pretty bad right after you had your stroke. i couldn't really function, i was just running on whatever adrenaline was left in me," he admitted, shaking his head.

minseok grabbed onto alexander's hand and did the little rubbing thing you do with your thumb (is there even a name for that?? i don't know) as he listened to the other speak. "you were also kinda drugged up," minseok added teasingly, trying to be lighthearted and playful. "i'm not going to take your comments to heart."

with his free hand, minseok continued to help alexander wipe away the tears, a small smile on his face. “i don’t even know how i managed to function while you were away,” he admitted. “my siblings had to help me out a lot.” he frowned a bit as he remembered it, chewing on his bottom lip.

“i just.. told them that you had some ‘business’ you had to take care of, and they didn’t press it any further. i’m sure they were suspicious but they were nice enough to not interrogate me about it. pretty not like chaewon to do that,” he added. “they were just trying to take care of me.”

"ahhh, minhyuk probably didn't want to smack you. it was chaewon who wanted to fight you," minseok said with a grin, shaking his head. "minhyuk is the peaceful boy in the family," he added with a small laugh coming to his face, leaning to rest his head on alexander's shoulder.

"scary minhyuk is a rare but terrifying thing," minseok responded with a laugh, bright grin on his face. "luckily, that weird monster hasn't come out for a while. we're safe for now. it's only a matter of time, i guess," minseok added. "if ben messes with chaewon, i can assure you that minhyuk is going to tear him limb from limb. so will chaewon. and me."

"ben knows that chaewon will not hesitate if he dares fuck with her, and then he also knows that she has three bodyguards, too," minseok commented, sounding very amused at that realization. "not that she needs us, honestly. she could probably beat me in a fight. and minhyuk, too, if she was determined enough."

"i know that they know that you'll be there for them whenever they need you," minseok hummed, nodding his head. "my family loves you, too. they were pretty worried when you disappeared- i'm almost a hundred percent sure that eomma thought you'd run away from me or something."
