the ivory feline greeted the young apprentice with a small smile and a dip of her head in place of a hello. "it's been very good, thank you amaryllispaw." she told the feline with a small twitch of her whiskers, eyes shifting to her former apprentice and nodding a hello to him as well.

three was enough for a small patrol, certainly? "anyone else can follow behind us." she decided with a flick of her ear, nodding towards the entrance. "let's head out."

to put it simply, i'd love to get blackcanary a girlfriend!! she's lived a very bachelorette life so far, and as she's nearing the big three-zero, she's sort of wondering why she hasn't actually made any commitment yet rip

this will be a fairly slow burn, and there will be no litters, unless your fem is mtf transgender, as black lacks the 'equipment'. honestly, i'm open for anything, so long as they're 20-ish + months old and a female, as she prefers women. they can be from any clan, including enemies, as black is vv non-judgemental. it'll likely start off as a friendship and become more?

it will be long term, but if they don't move to thunderclan, it will end eventually, as black wants to grow old with someone from her own clan.

she'd gotten plenty of this experimental shit for the six months of mentoring the tom. nearly a year after, blackcanary could smell a bad idea from a mile a way, and still felt that need to teach and protect the oaf, lest he get himself killed with another one of his antics.

"what kind of new fighting techniques?" she inquired warily as she approached, pale eyes regarding him with caution. did they need to have another talk about the dangers of some of his decisions?

for once, she didn't have an apprentice. she didn't have someone to train and teach and shape and mold into a perfect warrior. some cats were parents, some leaders, some healers - blackcanary was a teacher. she had a habit of mentoring most everyone, regardless of whether or not they already had their own mentor, or if they're grown passed that stage. she was among the older felines in the group, and, as such, saw everyone as a student. the world were her students, all new challenges, new adventures. there were lessons to learn and skills to sharpen and duties to be done.

the ivory feline had been enjoying a rare few moments alone, walking through the forest. her fur glowed in the flickers of sunlight, white standing out against the undergrowth, her tread silent and steady. she was easy to spot, but otherwise undetectable, eyes bright and watching the world around her, curious to see whatever might be going on in their territory.

the warriors eyes shifted to amaryllispaw, and she smiled, glad for the girls sense. nodding, she'd eye her own former apprentice once more. "yes, hollowmoon. keep trying to see starclan and we might have to let you stay there." she said with a flick of her ear, glancing at lighteningpaw as well. "you too, lighteningpaw. we don't need you killing anyone."

    hollowmoon was a project.

he was a good kid. she'd been a new apprentice when he'd been born, a new warrior when he was apprenticed - to her. even at twelve months old, it'd been clear that the femme would be an excellent teacher, and she'd done well enough with the tom. many mentors and apprentices had a parent-child relationship, but she'd never had anything like that with her own. older, now, it was like she was an aunt - worldly, older, smarter, but not quite as hardened as a parent. with hollowmoon, though? it'd been like she was an older sister, responsible for teaching her younger kin. they'd both been young and close, friends with a clear authority, a leadership, in their duo.

it'd been seasons since she'd trained him formally. still, no matter how many apprentices she had in the meantime, the tom would always be her student, always need her teachings. and she'd always feel that desire to make him the best he could be - or at least keep him alive. he wasn't like most, where she taught and then let go off on their own. she still trailed after him, trying to keep his nose out of trouble with a light sort of scolding. it really was because she cared about his well being, wanted to see him safe and well and okay.

this particular afternoon, the warrior was hoping to take the tom out on a quick patrol. peek into some abandoned fox dens, make sure no one had snuck into the borders. a territory patrol, per say. hopefully, they could catch up - she missed hanging out with the younger tom.

"hollowmoon?" she called into the warriors den as she slipped in, her frame smaller than most of her clanmates, picking through the nests as she approached the toms. "rise and shine hun - patrol time." she told him with a pleasant smile on her face.

it was early - most cats were just beginning to rise from their nests. but blackcanary was always up earlier than most - she was a light sleeper and even a denmate going to the dirplace could rise her, leaving her unable to return to her abyss, as had happened a few hours earlier. she smelled of the territory and fresh squirrel, a pair waiting on the near empty freshkill pile for whoever wanted them.

sighing, the warrior took a careful seat, sweapping her tail around her paws as she listened to hollowmoon's words. it, of course, raised a number of questions. in and out of them? hopefully, he didn't mean that literally. the last time she'd come out of someone was twenty nine months ago, and frankly, she wasn't eager to try to fit back up inside of anyone.

she stayed quiet, observing his own teaching, hoping it would reflect poorly on his education. she waited for someone else present to comment, or hollowmoon to respond. one way or another, she was awfully curious.

blackcanary approached, once more disappointed in the foul attitudes of children these days. no, wait - child. lighteningpaw was a handful, and even someone as mentor-ly as blackcanary had to give her leader credit. mentoring a girl with that much anger much take the patience of a saint.

she couldn't help but give her own former apprentice an approving nod, proud of the way the tom was handling her. he'd make a good mentor himself, his reckless hobbies aside.

"i apologize for the attitudes of the young." the fem said as she approached, nodding to tulipstar, the fem only a little younger than herself. "i'm afraid forgiveness is a virtue lost on some of this generation." she said with a chuckle, a polite smile on her features.

this was where he knack for diplomacy came in handy - she could pretend to love those she hated most. and, luckily for tulipstar, she held no personal vendetta towards the fem for her sisters actions towards another clan. this was politics - it was dirty and messy and nothing about it was meant for the light of heart.

"fetch foreststar, will you?" she instructed a npc, who scampered off, before glancing back at tulipstar and giving the fem a small dip of her head. "i hope you don't mind waiting here - surely you can understand us not parading you through are territory is for our safety, as well as your own."

she tossed a glance over her shoulder before turning curious gray eyes on the fem. "i hope you don't mind my curiousity - but has darkclan left their alliance with bloodclan yet? i'm blackcanary, by the way." she introduced, minding her manners.

"okay apple, time to learn to hunt."

"i, uh, i know how to hun-"

"now this is the hunting crouch - c'mon, try it yourself!"

"um... okay. okay black, for you."

ahh, i love this dynamic ha ha

would you be up for making? if not i could 10/10 add it to my list
