hmm, i'm not sure where the ooc is unwelcoming
when a member left, leaving the reason for their leaving on the chat, i looked back through the chat thread to see how we had treated them, and we had welcomed them with open arms, asked them questions, made comments on their character, etc- so i don't know if that's beginning to be a rumor or something, or if the 'ic opinions' and the small ooc notes are really important (i wouldn't know, i'm new to this site!)
nonetheless, i'll try and give them little ooc notes every time! normally i do, so maybe i can throw in a pm or something to say hi
as for the ic problems, i can understand those fully- the leader is taking it a bit slow for now, since they lack muse, but i can maybe nudge them to at least respond to joining threads
their character has a hatred for outsiders, so being questioned is really the only way to be able to join- the deputy is the same way (i think?), but maybe i'll try and help with that

I was going to suggest a meet and greet sort of thread for newbies to talk to older members to feel more at home, but I'm not sure if that would be more useless than helpful

Personally, I tend to assume that everyone should be well aware that all ic opinions are most definitely ic, as this is a roleplaying site full of fictional characters, and in my own opinion you shouldn't have to have some sort of reassurance that a fake character is expressing an equally as fake opinion. Honestly, when I see 'ic opinions' from someone, I am not comforted, and in fact, I'm the complete opposite. If you point out ic character opinions, that only draws light to them, and I normally assume that whoever put that note is lying. I never put ic opinions (though my character is very nervous and pretty kind, so I really haven't had a reason to) for that reason, and continue not to. I've seen it around quite a bit, and I suppose on a really rude/controversial character it'd be nice to have for the more anxious/sensitive/over-thinking type of crowd, which I'm not really a part of. But if that character is acting suspicious (knowing things they shouldn't know, breaking the fourth wall, etc), I'd be going straight to staff for that sort of thing! To anyone who sees that behavior happening, I'd suggest reporting it. :)

My own method is just listening to random songs and writing down lyrics I might use later somewhere though! That's helped me pretty well, and it works for fancies/signatures, too :))

i super duper love shadowclan!!! like dem said, the ooc is i think the friendliest community i've had the pleasure of meeting uvu i love everyone who i've ever met there!!
right now all/most of our hps have died/gone missing, so we have a democracy, yes- it'll be temporary until someone proves themselves worthy of leader/deputy position, so that's an interesting plot to look forward to :)
it's got a very slow, calm and relaxed pace, and i find it super easy to keep up with and post in! it's just all around a super nice place and i'd definitely suggest you go there!

Personally, I pretty much find the very idea of stretching absolutely appalling, but I honestly just don't like piercings in general due to how they mar your body. My main problems with stretching is their appearance when you get older and the fact that employers will definitely find you unprofessional. A small (very small) one, like blurry said, that wouldn't bother me much, since the ear can eventually mend itself. Any bigger than that, though, and I probably would find it trashy.

the ic rudeness ive seen recently was actually really leaking into ooc but that might just be my opinion, might have interpreted it wrongly

imo not being blunt and unfeeling with people and considering their feelings would help
even if you truly hate someone, it's not right to treat them passive aggressively/aggressively in general
i'm really sorry all that happened, alpha; if it helps any, i don't think it's all your fault at all :)
