Bearstorm glanced sideway at the kit, feeling his soft smile growing wider the longer he spent in the child's presence. His youth and wonder was contagious. This was why he loved being around children. They always somehow made the world seem so much brighter.

"HA! HAHA!" he was surprised to find himself suddenly bursting with laughter as the kitten sneezed snow, "Look at you! Like a tiny storm cloud!" he rumbled a purr, before scooping up a pawful of snow and plopping it unceremoniously upon his own face. It burned his nose a bit, but it didn't remain for long as he blew outwards, sending the flakes of snow into the air once more. Such a childish act only made him laugh harder.

After Foreststar's death and the hardships of leaf-bare, it had been so long since he'd laughed like this. He felt kind of silly, guffawing on the ground with snow still coating half his face, but man - it was so much fun.

Bear was helpless to Swiftkit's attack. He laughed even harder, tearing up a bit even when he was momentarily winded by the kitten jumping upon his belly. "Im quaking in my fur! The thunder - oh how it booms!" he laughed, almost choking on it. "Wait, storm clouds aren't supposed to be this close to the ground," he said, lemon colored eyes glowing with a bit of mischief. He pushed his paws underneath the small child, before extending his front legs, lifting the kitten high into the air, "A proper storm cloud, up in the sky!"

The large male immediately bristled at Pumpkinpatch's words. He hadn't thought about that! What if he was sick right now and wasn't aware of it? What if he got these kittens sick? He was about to jump to his feet and track hopeclaw down, when a flash of red suddenly hopped onto his stump of a tail. He startled, glancing over his shoulder at the kitten in surprise. "Lightningkit!" he said, letting out a breath. He shook his head slightly, forgetting momentarily the fear of hiim being contagius as he said, "That was a great pounce, you'll make an excellent hunter one day"

Bearmumble frowned at the molly's pride. He could understand the humiliation of having to ask for help from another clan, and wanting to avoid further by literally leaning on said unfamiliar cats, but come on. She could barely walk right! Still, he wasn't going to press, and positioned himself on her not-completely injured side, to avoid rubbing her wounds. He couldn't help but give the tortie a long stare at the "snap you in two" comment. Not only was he almost a head taller than her, but even malnourished as he was, he wasn't covered in fox wounds. Yeah, she couldn't snap his pinkie in two. But he said nothing, letting her lean against him. "If it starts to hurt too much, my offer still stands," he told her patiently, following Hopeclaw back to camp.

He laid a hefty paw on Rubyheart's shoulder, an attempt to be comforting to the distressed queen. "We'l find them," he told her, his voice more confident than he felt. Who knew what kind of trouble six kittens could get out in the woods with no training whatsoever? Aw jeeze, he hoped they'd at least have the sense to stick together! He shuffled his weight on his feet, waiting impatiently for Pumpkinpatch to order them to start the search. Every second they wasted was another second the kits coud be in peril.

Though he's made some mistakes in his life, but the biggest would be treating his children, and honeystep, as if they were ones, too.
