[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]Jayfeather awoke to darkness. Then again, he always woke to darkness, so there was no difference there. But he could still sense that something had changed. The ground under his paws, the smells around him, even the very air he was breathing, it was all... wrong. He shifted his weight, uneasy. Why was the dirt so squishy? He felt like he was in ShadowClan territory.

Certainly, it was very much like ShadowClan territory, without any indication of ShadowClanners. The air was damp and cool, but there were completely different smells all around. He blinked, though it provided no purpose, he felt much better with something familiar. His nose twitched, and he wondered if there were any other creatures here. Tentatively, he extended his senses, searching for some flicker of emotion in the area.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]Jayfeather ignored anything this voice said. "What are you?" he exclaimed, backing away. The fur along his spine lifted a little. He raised his head, nostrils flaring, searching for any scent on her that he knew of. She smelled a little like the sheep in WindClan territory, except a little less stinky. He stared at her with sightless eyes, feeling rather panicky all of a sudden.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]"Your voice is hurting my ears." Jayfeather complained, irritation rising out of his nervousness. He bristled uneasily. Her voice sounded raspier and louder than a cat's meow, and much higher up. Of course, it was because she was a horse. What else did she say? She had a horn on her head? "Anyway, I don't believe you." he sniffed, tilting his head upwards to where he assumed her face was. Horns? He had heard of creatures called deer who had horns, but a horse? He remembered horses-- he was pretty sure that their descriptions didn't have horns. He didn't care what she called herself, obviously, it was fake.

"I can treat my own injuries, Radianthope." he snapped, inwardly remarking on what a strange name she had. Didn't they tell him that horses had pointy feet? "Great StarClan, don't touch me. I'm Jayfeather." he added, as an afterthought. Sure, he didn't believe that she was what she actually was, but he was willing to give her his name.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]"RiverClan?" Jayfeather exclaimed, jumping to his paws at the new voice. He was too interested in Radiant Hope's scent to notice Sylmae arriving, but it was just as startling. "What happened here? Did you guys get flooded or something?" He snorted at her, nose twitching at the unfamiliar smell of cloth. She smelled weird herself, like a cat, just wilder. Maybe that was a clue that she was Deputy. Someone important would be powerful, and you could smell power as easily as you could see it. "Sylmae. Let me guess: you're a horse too, but you have paws." he huffed, only half-sarcastic. "Yeah, like she said. I can't see, so you'll have to tell me."

He swung his head towards Ivylee, then leaped back with a yelp. "There a dog here!" he near-shrieked, puffing up like a balloon. But he then narrowed his eyes, snapping his head back towards where the former voices probably stood. "Huh? You're a leader? What a great leader you would make. Hey, don't you think that I'd get suspicious if I was trespassing and you starting welcoming me?" he realized aloud, suspiciously peering at the strange trio. He couldn't see them, but it would have the effect that he did.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]"Hey, are you on fire? Nevermind, if you were on fire, you would be screaming." Jayfeather loudly commented, padding over with a shake of his head, as if he could get rid of smoke like that. He wasn't aware (and wouldn't care) of her new beautification, mainly because he couldn't see it. You can't miss what you don't have. The tabby stared at her through sightless eyes, his unfocused gaze drifting towards the place where the smoke was coming from. "Here I find actual cats, but one of them's trying to kill herself and everyone else." he remarked to both of the felines, staying standing.

RiverClan was strange. He kept to camp for a couple of days, trying to get used to all the moisture in the air, but he couldn't stand all the new, strange smells along with it. He couldn't get used to the sounds and trembles of paws much heavier than his all around him, voices over his head, dangerous scent galore. It was nerve-wracking. In the end, he decided to stay away from camp and run into all the RiverClanners on his own. And he had found one. He coughed, then licked his lips. "Do you enjoy this or something?" He wasn't one to bother someone else, but he was lonely.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]A dick? Jayfeather wondered, flattening his ears at the chuckle also heard. She'd probably taunt him if he questioned her about that. Maybe he'd find out at a later time, from a nicer cat. He blinked at her, confusion replacing irritation as she continued to do... whatever she was doing. "That's not what I meant." he moodily replied, twitching the tip of his tail. "Why are you doing it?"

And maybe she'd elaborate on how she was doing it too. Since he had no vision, he couldn't exactly watch and learn. He smelled smoke, but there was no fire. It seemed safe enough, but smoke could kill too. But he would rather be choked to death than burned alive. It was a morbid thought, and he shook his head, not wanting to escape his denial.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]Cuteness didn't affect Jayfeather, mainly because he couldn't see it. But there was also a conspicuous, warm aura that followed cute things, and Jayfeather's natural grumpiness repelled it. He was rather disgruntled at the smell of yet another dog (he didn't want the StarClan-forsaken things stinking him up too), and made a show of wrinkling his nose.

He stood near Sylmae, "looking" at the general direction of the dog, expression one of distaste. "I can't see you, so don't run into me." he warned, unsure of what else to say. Heck, he would have said that anyway.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]/Hi! I just joined so I don't know you, but welcome back!

Jayfeather scented dog. That in and of itself wasn't reason to cause panic, and Jayfeather had never actually seen a dog before, but he knew that they were to be feared. However, in this bent world, dogs seemed to be civilized. He was in denial, yes, and he wasn't acting as hysterical as he really should be. For once in his life, he thanked his blindness. He truly didn't want to see what was going on around him.

The tabby lifted his nose, following it towards the dog-smell. To make sure that she knew how unpleasant she was to him, he flattened his ears and wrinkled his nose. "What do you want?" he questioned, twitching the tip of his tail. Sure, she was standing right at the border, but that didn't give him any reason to immediately start welcoming her.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]"No, it's ThunderClan." Jayfeather sarcastically commented, following the odd scent of contained fire and the clearly heavy, but also light footsteps of the creature before him. "Yeah, I wish." he bitterly added, shaking his head. He'd ask what the latter was later, because he had more pressing questions at the moment. He blinked blind eyes at the newcomer, and was irritated at how far he had to tilt his head back to find her mouth, so he could address her face. "Are you a super fat cat or something? I can't see, so you'll have to tell me what you are." I'm so sorry that I've lead a sheltered, helpless life before this, so I don't know what kind of freak you are.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]Jayfeather wasn't fond of water, but it wasn't his choice. He'd had nightmares of drowning as a kit and actual drowning as an apprentice, so it perfectly suited him to be placed in RiverClan. This twisted, alternate-universe, completely insane "RiverClan". Well, he didn't know any other places he could run to anyway, because he was blind, and he still kept bumping into trees and stubbing his paws even when going slower than a turtle. So it was natural that he also didn't appreciate the beauty of water.

"You're a cat, thank StarClan." he remarked, sightless eyes wandering towards where he thought Beautymark was. It saved him the time, annoyance, and frustration of having to ask (plus, he still didn't know what Sylmae was), though this whole "joining" process irritated the hell out of him anyway. Why welcome a complete stranger into your home? Whatever-- Jayfeather was going to get killed soon anyway in this StarClan-forsaken territory. Probably stepped on or drowned. What was it to him if a bunch of weirdos got attacked because of a spy?

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]CRASH! "What the hell? Watch where you're going, dumbass!" Jay shouted, stumbling away from Keith. Why couldn't people pay attention? Jay didn't have that privilege, so he was forced to rely on other people. Nevermind for using a stick; it looked stupid and it made him feel old. Besides, he would eventually end up trying to whack someone with it. "Hey, are you high?" he asked, incredulous. He crossed his arms, wrinkling his nose at the reek of drugs. Ew, gross.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]"I don't have any, so I guess I'm sitting out." Jayfeather complained, padding over. "I can't even watch for StarClan's sake, woe is me. I guess I'll just listen to the sounds of two hairy piles of meat banging into each other, and learn from there." He flopped onto a nice patch of earth, emitting a loud sigh and draping his foreleg over his head. "What are you anyway? I guess since you sound excited about 'natural abilities' you must be big." He'd say "fat", but he didn't want to be squished to death.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]not finished

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]"Thanks." Jayfeather sarcastically replied, turning towards Sylmae as she spoke. He was the main perpetrator. He narrowed his eyes at the question, contemptuously tossing his head back towards where he thought Verona would still be, maybe facing forwards as well. He was on a cliff, so he shouldn't move all that much. "Yeah, that was what I was wondering too. Hey, by the way, what are you, Sylmae?" he asked again, not bothering to waste energy to turn around and look at her. He only did it so cats would be more comfortable talking to his face, despite the uselessness of the action of him. But once he found out that the voices he was talking to weren't cats, he couldn't care less.

He twitched his ear towards a new, unfamiliar voice (to him). His nose twitched, and immediately tried to shrink back. She smelled like dog, except more pungent and wilder, as if chilled by forest winds. "What do you look like?" he inquired, now curious.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify][color=#8EB7D5][font=georgia]want a thread with Jayfeather? he can annoy him all he wants & maybe they can be like friends through a life experience or something? idk but he needs friends lmao
