You gotta stand up tall, give them something to say
With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagsrowanblush sounds so pretty ngl & plus it'd be pretty ironic to give your kid a nice name but then they're actually just a butt
& the only traditional clan i'm in rn is windclan and it's been pretty chill so far. the pace is prolly slow-medium, or smth like that.
ignore the fact that this is a sub bc i'm lazy but welcome back to ff!

With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagsthe first windclanner he had met, and the only thing he could think of was: big. absolutely huge, to be honest, compared to his small and compact frame. a few seconds passed by, where he merely blinked slowly at the other, the sound of his rapid heartbeat keeping him company. he was thankful that he had held himself together so far, and how well, too! the other was right in assuming he didn't know what was going on, and to be frank, if he had, he might have fled. if he were to see his sister... or even lilystar... he wasn't sure what'd he do, or how they'd react, or how he'd react. probably not pleasantly, he supposed, but his emotions were a surprise, when they wanted to be. thank you. calm words were murmured moments later, followed by a slight pause, and a tilt of his cranium. eh, where is camp? it'd be of no use to not ask for directions, he figured ; he didn't like wasting time.

With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tags/autumn!!
he wasn't well versed in windclan rules, although he supposed they shouldn't be that much different from darkclan ones. he had caught the scent of nightkit, and oddly enough, the little kitten wasn't where he was suppose to be. confusion flared idly for a moment, as he couldn't remember doing such things as a youth. but maybe he had, and he had merely blocked out such memories? it was possible, considering his world had turned around when his mother had fatefully disappeared. ah, but it was no use thinking about that now, he figured. he tried to concentrate on the task at hand, dutifully tracking the little fella down. he was so focused on merely locating the kitten, that he didn't immediately recognize they weren't alone. he'd open his maw, with the intention of scolding, only to pause thoughtfully, as he realized that there were three unfamiliars near by. fire? he'd echo, unsure, blue cranium wavering back and forth, in a puzzled manner. ah- i wouldn't be able to answer your questions, i just got here not too... he'd trail off mid thought, and idly, attempt to drag nightkit closer to him, body tense with warning. not now, he supposed. i'm morningfrost, and i suppose you'll have to wait until the person you're asking about shows up, or someone of higher status then me.

With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagshe had not wanted to be a warrior when he was younger. he had wanted to help those who had needed it, and nothing more. idly, the tom-cat would wave his tail from side to side, vaguely paying attention to the younger tom. such actions brought back memories of his own mentor-apprentice relationship, but he tried to block such things out. there was no use in focusing so much on the past, but he was a bad sport, never bothering to pay attention to his own rules. absentmindedly, he'd pause beside the windclan leader, now his leader, he supposed, head tilted gently to the side. good form, he'd echo calmly.

With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagslove was awkward to him, as he could never imagine such a thing happening to him. sure, it might be... worth it, to find someone he could relate to romantically... but... staring at the couple with a curious blink, he just couldn't see him being like that with anybody. perhaps he was too awkward for things like that. standing beside chips, the blue tabby would give a half smile of congratulations, keeping his thoughts to himself. it wasn't as though they were appropriate for this happy moment, either.

You gotta stand up tall, give them something to say
With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagshe had changed a lot since he had lived in darkclan, and it was probably for the best. he wasn't as angry, or as snappish, and he had come to see a lot of things he had never had before. like the big trees in skyclan and the open spaces in windclan. darkclan was all rough and toughness, but he was beginning to see the idea of staying around here, if only a bit longer. he was trying to steel himself, already on the edge, as he waited for something bad to happen here that caused him to leave. he was so scared about actually being happy, scared that something would come back and ruin it for him. he just couldn't help but think of his sister, and how she probably hated him ; or the fact that his mother just disappeared one day, and now, how he wondered if it was truly lilystar's fault, or his own. maybe he had been a bad son as a child?
such thoughts were bittersweet, and always a stab to his own heart. he couldn't find anything to silence his hyperactive imagination, and although he liked the activity of his mind, he just wanted peace, every once and awhile. maybe- he didn't quite know. he'd exhale softly, attention lazily dripping left and right as he swung his cranium in an idle scan of everyone. one couldn't quite be sure that everything was in place without checking, and this was when he spotted the elder. he wasn't a social creature by nature, or by force. there were moments when he clearly just didn't bother with interaction, instead, idly just watching as events folded. he didn't share tongues with people, and he slightly seemed weird over the gesture in itself. it was a wonder he even approached the elder, but morn had always liked the older population. some grumbled at him, but he had always loved helping them. ah- you need help with those leaves? he'd murmur calmly, ears flickering backwards in slight thought. ... how are you enjoying windclan so far? if the ground is too hard, i can make you a nest, or something, the tom-cat would begin, rambling.

With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagsit was kinda chilly, wasn't it? windy, at least, but he wasn't particularly feeling the cold. his oculars were glued to nothing and everything, idly flickering to and fro as he considered his options. it was always a boring day when he was unsure on what to be doing. he wasn't the type to lead a patrol, he just solo did everything. he hunted alone, he walked along the border alone, and he slept, relatively, alone. the company of others were, at times, frightening to him in a way he couldn't explain. he wasn't shy, per say, he was just afraid of saying the wrong thing. he was known, he was sure, for opening his mouth and just running with it. things he said came out as cold, or snappier than he meant them to be, so he had reduced his conversations to the bare minimum, only offering his help when it was needed. that, he could do, with little to know problem. he'd offer them a half smile, maybe, and merely ask if he could help. it didn't matter that the smile never reached his blank orbs or anything, not at all. he'd pause near the center of camp, still partially in shock that cats could sleep as such... in the open like this. he had crafted a makeshift nest for himself, but he knew those who did no such thing. something about the moors being home, something he couldn't relate to. as far as he was aware, he didn't have a home. not really, not yet- as this didn't feel like home to him, despite the welcome he had been given. he was still wary, if anything, of everything and everybody.

With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagsso, i thought it'd kinda be funny to get this guy a love interest or something, considering he holds practically everybody at arm's length. his tags are above, and a more detailed look at his personality can be found here, though it's nowhere near finished. he's staying in windclan at the moment, and he'll probably continue to stay there for awhile, cause i think the place fits him extremely well. here's some info about what i'm looking for, and although this isn't first come first serve, you can just post your characters tags, or any plot ideas you can think of between the two.
- the character can be any gender, although he leans more towards males
- he's 12 months old, so somewhere near that age range??
- this plot can be short term or long term (be warned if y/c breaks his heart, he's unlikely to forgive them)
- i think it'd be cute if the other character was the opposite of him, or smth
- specific plot details will be worked out once/if i chose someone
- i'll close this on the 18th

You gotta stand up tall, give them something to say
With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagshe was often see around the nursery and elders den, letting the little ones play with his body, or trying to help the older ones in day to day tasks. he was at ease with helping others, and although he always smiled at them, his oculars remained the same: cool, almost to the point of being blank. he liked it here, he truly did, but he supposed he was just waiting for something bad to happen. it usually did, didn't it? over where? he'd echo back, slowly, cranium tilting to the side. he was half asleep, so it took his brain a few seconds to process what was happening, maw forming a small 'o'. i don't know, he'd finally admit, small shoulders coming together to give a semi shrug. he gave the kitten a curious look, slightly wondering why he cared.

You gotta stand up tall, give them something to say
With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagshe liked being in the nursery and in the elders den, so he visited both, playing with the children, or helping the elderly. he, however, mostly kept to himself, and only dared to open his maw when a concerned mother came forth, usually asking him what he was doing. there were rare moments when he approached first, giving a small half smile, and asking if he could help them with something they needed. sometimes it was prey, other times a new nest- he even offered to take the kits off their paws, depending, so they could get exercise, and the moms could sleep. he was falling into a comfortable routine, and although he had vaguely noticed brightmoon before, he had never approached her physically, until now. one could assume it to be shyness, but this merely wasn't the case. she was pregnant, and obviously didn't have kittens yet, so his conversation starters for her were limited. he didn't like putting himself in situations he didn't know what to do with- embarrassment often crept up on him anyway, so he didn't know why he bothered. he'd hang back, bright oculars dully flickering over the ever growing crowd that was going on. he had come soon enough to hear her introduction, and he was surprised with himself at how pretty he thought the name to be. as he marveled over that particular thought, he'd half listen to the conversation, absentmindedly rolling around a bit of disregarded moss that had probably fallen out of a nest or something. you have a pretty name. his mouth had gotten the better of him, again, calm voice spilling forth before he could think of his words and their meanings. he didn't take the compliment back, and simply focused on the queen, wiping whatever internal tension or awkwardness he felt away. my name is morningfrost- how are you enjoying windclan so far?

You gotta stand up tall, give them something to say
With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagsthe only home he had ever known had had it's own twists and turns, and he couldn't understand any of them. he had hated lilystar, hated her rule, and, for the most part, he still did. she unnerved him- was it truly a coincidence that she had to take up his mother's place, when she had mysteriously disappeared? what had all of that been about? he didn't truly believe such things didn't connect to each other, which had led him to view the leader in bad light. once it was there, he couldn't unsee it. was he the only one that had cared about his own mother? his sister, of course, had ultimately taken her side; at least, that's what he assumed, considering he had merely walked out one day, after the rock fall, with hopes of starting over. he hadn't stayed there, as the capturing and mauling a kitten had been the last straw. sure, he didn't care for bloodclan, but a child was a child.
his exile had been self imposed, as he knew himself all too well. his head would have eventually been filled with bitter and hateful thoughts, louder than the ones he had already had. he had loved his home, once upon a time, but the place was haunted to him. the very thought of darkclan made his stomach roll, and his nose curl ; it brought feelings he couldn't describe, but perhaps over time, everything would heal. he fought to cling onto that thought, no matter how double bladed it could turn out to be. life was silly like that.
he had never met a riverclanner before, but he supposed the fact that she was soaked gave her away. he was unsure on what to do, or how to approach. she didn't seem okay- almost broken, in that delicate way that was all too familiar to him, as well. the feeling of helplessness that arose as he watched her was something he couldn't contain, but he did not feel pity for her. to feel pity now was to feel pity for himself, as well, and he still had time for improvement, to show himself, and everybody else, that something out there was worth it. he just hadn't figured that out yet.
his strides were confident enough as he approached, and although his guard was still up, it wasn't as though he'd deny her his help, or something. there was a silent pause, as he merely crouched down in front of her, bright oculars unreadable. i need your name, if you can give that, and what happened to you. lame, was all he could think, as his mouth moved without much thought. and if you're feeling up to it, and if it's allowed, i'll take you back to camp, and help warm you up. now it was just turning awkward. i'm morningfrost, and this is windclan.

With your back against the wall, be somebody to hate!— tagsit was his tail the youth had tripped upon, and if he was being honest, the sensation didn't really hit him into moments later. he was just so badly out of it today, that he wasn't very conscious of anything. his maw would form a perfect 'o' shape, as his cranium tilted back, lips crinkling in thought. where had the child run to? were they okay? concerned, he'd follow the kid, crouching down in front of where his scent stopped. hello? are you okay? sorry about that, he'd babble away in concern.
-
ofc! morn practically adores the little guy
what were you thinking about tho?? ;o
-
i agree that these two would either just click together through their trauma or just not lmfao
but thank you for offering her! i'll keep this up until the 18th and then pick then but i think loving tori would throw morn through a loop because she's in bloodclan & bc she's one of lilystar's kids (who he doesn't like, at all)
-
i'm a doofus, but i'll be creating initial interaction threads with everyone and tagging you guys, as well! i think that'll best determine who morn clicks with best, although all of ya'll have such nice characters compared to this mess smfh
tori and morn will either be aight, and not aight, it depends lol
i'm pretty sure morning and aster saw each other in darkclan, but maybe didn't interact at all or smth? considering morn kinda hated everyone in dc, it isn't surprising, but i've always thought aster was such a cutie smfh so of course i'd love a thread between these two. morn will prolly vaguely recognize him from dc, if that's aight?
nooo, don't hurt bright, she's such a doll ;c let like one kit survive or smth, poor babe. i think bright and morn share the honesty and parental trait, so even if she doesn't get picked, i can imagine them being really good friends.
