A'ight, so he's not the type to reminisce unless he's drunk, and shit, he ain't drunk, but here he is, reminiscing like his life depends on it. Fuck if he knows why, but that bitterness is back, that overwhelming need to prove himself, and maybe it's because of the cold, but he's a lot more uptight. Spencer, as that grunt's apparently called, said he looks more laid back around here, but that ain't really true. The grunts just saw him as Guzma, destruction personified, the only person able to make bugs seem like total fuckin' badasses.

And yeah, that's exactly who he was. As Guzma, he was a fuckin' champ, and he wanted everyone to know it! As Roach, he's less destruction and more pessimism, but sooner or later, he's gonna have to buck his ideas up. He can't have the only grunt he's got losing hope, can he? Shit, the dude probably needs to be given Admin status at some point, 'cause even though he's not the technical Boss, they all still see him as it, and what's a Boss without his Admin?

"More laid back", apparently. Huh. His thoughts circle, and the feline bobs his head, searching for something to take his mind off of things he shouldn't really be thinking about. Shit, he could do with something to eat right about now, but this place doesn't have the sort of trash he considers food, so his diet is even more limited than normal. The last good meal he had was made by Plumeria, so.. his eating habits have gone to shit. Instead of thinking about food, or his past, or any other bullshit like that, the former Boss locks onto a sort of familiar face, slinking up behind him and dawdling there. "Wassup with you?"

He shuts his eyes for a moment, seemingly contemplative, whilst the kid scrambles to shove their pokéballs in their bag, numbly forking out cash, as is protocol after losing a battle. "Kid, I'm the strongest trainer on these islands. Ain't nobody better than ya boi', so.." He takes the money, leaning against his Scizor and barking a laugh. "Stop pickin' fights with people ya can't beat." It's stupid, really. These kids take on the Skull grunts, boost their ego with every win, then fall flat at his feet. As the trainer scurries off, Guzma slaps his Scizor's shoulder, grinning at it.

"Fuckin' aced that one, man!" When he lifts his fist, the intimidating creature bumps one huge claw against it. With the kid gone, his tongue loosens, giving way to foul language and an easygoing demeanour. "Shit, though, he did a number on us." His Masquerain was taken out in one hit, which wasn't ideal, but hey, the kid'd used a fire type, then. Good job his Golisopod had waterfall. "We ain't lettin' that happen again, though."

At the sound of humming and a swagger-step that can only be described as quintessentially Team Skull, Guzma returns his Scizor to its pokéball, turning on his heel and folding his arms over his chest. That's one of his grunts, alright, and fuck, he's massive. Has he always had one freakishly buff grunt? Probably. Plumeria knows them all better than he does, which is unfortunate (and entirely his fault; he needs to get to know them all), but he's.. sure he's probably seen this one around, though likely usually from afar. (Wait. Is this the one with the lil' Cutiefly? Shit, if he were Grunt A, he'd not even bother with his Pokémon and just punch the opponent himself.) "Yo," he calls, though he doesn't really need to. Scrawny as he is, he's sorta hard to miss. "What're you doing out here?" Don't the grunts usually come in pairs?
