As Chestnut arrived, he let a small smile adorn his mouth. "Thank you, this is very thoughtful," He complemented Red's efforts gratefully, grabbing a small green bag with white wrapping.}

He had never seen a seal before, let alone a seal with a ring of water around his neck. Chestnut arrived in time to hear what the creature's name was and his business. So, another joiner. Chestnut was still very new, so it was strange to be welcoming more animals into the clan.
"Well, here in BlizzardClan, there's an auto-acceptance policy. Welcome to the family, Aquaring. My name's Chestnut, by the way," This was very uncharacteristic of Chestnut. He had never talked so much to a stranger before. Maybe it was Christmas talking.}

His ultimate happiness was in solitude, as sometimes, if he was around others for an extended period of time, he would become tired and grumpy. In a nutshell, Chestnut was an introvert, and he wouldn't understand why anyone would feel so lonely.
Again, he had stumbled accross one of the warmer islands, which was not good for him. As stated many times before, his species was not built for the heat. Elk were built to survive harsh winters in the mountains. Well, at least, in his misery, he would find two friends- Tama and Reuben.
Chestnut trotted up to the two, "Tama! Reuben! So nice to see you!" His neck fur was matted in some places due to sweat, and there was some visible sweat trickling from his ear to his jaw. Though he looked absolutely miserable, his face was its emotionless self, with only one squinting eye to show that he probably shouldn't be on this island.}

His closest friend was Spectralregalia, but, for some reason, he still felt closed off to the feline, almost like he was afraid to show his true colors. It was almost like he was trying to impress Speccy.
The elk had been taking a stroll when he came across the bat. Reuben sure looked a little pissed off. "It's Reuben, right?" Chestnut greeted the bat with a small smile, hoping to brighten his spirits.}

Chestnut trotted up to the tiger at the call for a game of hide and seek.
"I'll play. I'm Chestnut by the way," He would say, realizing he had never seen this gal around before.}

Now that Speccy brought it up, he felt a lump in his stomach- a longing for his mother. It was such a strange feeling- almost loneliness. The elk had never felt loneliness in his life, as he felt comfort in solitude.
Chestnut glanced up to the stars, then looked back at the feline. "I miss her, but the fact that we're looking at the same stars gives me comfort," He stated, his sudden longing never to be evident.
Now he listened to Speccy again, drawing circles in the snow with his hoof. "I'd heard lots of great things about this place, and it seems they were right," He replied, a grateful tone behind his statement.}

Chestnut shifted his weight and took a sip of tea. "Do you go to parties a lot? They're not really my thing, but I like watching from the background," He added. He hoped being kind to the recently-joined canine would make him feel more welcome to BlizzardClan, even if his own social skills weren't that great.}

Following her with his eyes, the elk shouted, "Welcome to BlizzardClan territory! Name and business, ma'am?" Chestnut hoped she could hear him from up there.

The elk nodded in greeting and listened to what she had to say. "If no one else comes, I'll make sure to notify the HP's of my clan," He stated. He was sure at least someone relevant would be present soon, but just in case, he wanted to assure the ally that BlizzardClan would not be out of the loop.}

Christmas was his favorite time of the year; Not only did the songs make his usually unemotional self smile, but the cold weather was perfect, since he was a cold-weather animal. So, at the sound of "Jingle Bell Rock", the elk trotted over, though didn't sing himself, as he didn't sing very well. Chestnut listened, the corners of his mouth upturned with delight.}
