Sorry that I haven't replied in a while. I had some sh-tty muse for quite a bit with Ruza, and struggled to reply. I'll try to post better in the future. Also, Moonraven do you mind telling me the color for Earth's speech so I can color code it?

    [center]

RUŽA Was... Was something burning? Ruža takes a whiff with her nose and immediately coughs out. Someone's gotta put it out!

Although she doesn't have personal experience with forest fires, she's smart enough to know that even a small match can turn the sea of green into a sea of fire. Which means she needs to book it.

Ruža's about to, obviously, but the moment she hears the soft cries of a child, her blood freezes. Somewhere in that forest is a child. Somewhere beyond the smoke, no doubt.

    ...

    Goddammit.

Rationality dictates tha she needs to leave as quickly as possible. She needs to get into her car and drive as far away, call the authorities to investigate, perhaps, and simply wait for the news of this event on television. That would be the reasonable thing to do.

But the child's cries, they are frighteningly grow ever softer, as if the child was slowly losing consciousness...

    F-cking...

Curse as she might, she knows that she isn't leaving the forest without rescuing the innocent soul. She pushes for recklessness and charges in, simultaneously taking breaks to gain a sense of where the child was at. West, no east...

Suffice it to say, it takes a hefty amount of her time to try and locate the child. As she ventures on, the smoke is veritably getting thicker, and starting to get to her lungs, and the wailing of a small child is heard no more.

I should turn back, her mind orders, but her body declares itself, and moves forward, desperately listening to her surroundings for any clue as to where the child was.

It isn't long, however, when an arrow finds itself in her left leg, and she quickly writhes in pain, falling to her knees. Normally, she should have been able to dodge that rather easily, but with the carbon monoxide in her lungs and her weary, tortured mind, evading that arrow with her back turned would be difficult.

Hurriedly, Ruža seeks to find shelter, and crawls towards the shrubbery, exhausted from the pain, and hopes that the attackers would not find her, but it does get her wondering: who shot the arrow? Were they also the ones responsible for the fire? What were they trying to achieve?

"Urgh..." Pain shoots up her leg, and she decides that those questions should be reserved for next time. What she needs now is medical attention.

Although she's aware that she won't die from this, the potential infection sends her up and about, because pain is a great motivator to have her limping to her car. Or at least, she tries to get there as quickly as possible, but she is weak, both mentally and physically. The last sight before her is a fleeing green-haired woman, with an arrow through her own leg, to which Ruža drowsily thinks, hey, we've got matching arrows, before she falls unconscious.

ok, what i wrote is probably unrealistic, but shhh, i'm sleepy and can't think straight. i'll cry over what i wrote when i wake up.

    low muse and sleepy srry

CHOI NARIIt's a good thing that Nari was able to accomplish her duties early. She wasn't sure how long Hana could stand to wait any longer, not with her incessant fidgeting and puppy dog eyes.

It had been quite a while since the two of them had visited the island meant for the pups to play in, and Nari admits that she misses the air of relaxation the area has.

Just as she is about to take a breather, her posture goes rigged as she spots one of the other wolves, the alpha female.

Quickly, Nari stands at attention, ready to serve, should she be ordered, and stands resolutely by the shade of the trees, watching with a hawk-eye and keeping an ear to the alpha female, should she require any sort of assistance. It's the least Nari could do, after they had taken the risk of bringing her under their roof as one of their own.

CHOI HANAMommy had told you a few hours ago that since she had finished early, she would bring you there, but you didn't put much faith into it. It wouldn't be the first time that another duty would be placed upon her, and this visit would be postponed. You would understand that, of course, but always, always, you will find yourself a little disappointed, no matter how much you try to hide it, and Mommy will always end up finding out, nevertheless.

That's why, today, you are grinning from ear-to-ear. Nothing interrupted your little getaway, and Mommy is—you turn to look at her, and find that a frown has replaced your features then. Mommy isn't relaxing at all. Why?

This place was as much a relaxation for you as it was for her; it was why you're so persistent about going here every now and then! Quickly, you scan the beach to find out what has her so focused. It does take you quite a while, because your senses aren't as well developed yet, but eventually, you spot a figure in the waters, a figure that undoubtedly belongs to one of the leaders of the pack: Lilith.

Oh, that's why! Knowing why doesn't change anything, because you are left ignorant on what to do, and it sucks not knowing what to do. The best thing she can do is distract Mommy long enough that she forgets that the alpha is there.

At least there, she has an idea, but Hana knows it's only temporary. "Mommy, come and help me build a sand castle, please!" After a moment of hesitation, her mother comes over and begins to help her. Within a few moments, a sizeable and elegant sand castle stands, and her mother is distracted enough that her shoulders aren't so tense.

NICHOLAS SOMMERSTANDBY (Not sure what to do with him, yet.)

CHOI NARIAnd suddenly, the bliss between mother and daughter is broken.

Nari finds herself a little disoriented from the sudden distraction, but hearing her leader's voice quickly sends her to attention, though she pales considerably when Lilith asks to speak to her alone.

There's no excuse to decline, (nor could she even dare,) so she politely nods, and keeps her gaze on the ground as she stands and takes a very short moment to dust off the sand that had gathered on her gypsy skirt. "Of course, alpha. Shall we talk of this here or...?" Should it be in private?

She lets the last words remain unspoken, but she wonders all the same if it's something grave in nature.

CHOI HANA"Yup! Thank you, miss Lilith." You cheerfully yip, but you eventually force yourself to calm down enough to show some semblance of respect and reverence as your mother taught you.

That is, until miss Lilith mentioned needing your mother for something.

Talk? Why would she need to talk to Mommy? Are the two of us in trouble? But why? We were always on good behaviour!

Unconsciously, you grip on your mother's skirt, lightly so as not to accidentally pull it off, and give your mother a worried look, who only smiles in return and pats your head, telling you not to worry.

That doesn't erase your doubts, but it does help to calm you down and put you at ease by just a bit.

Solemnly, you nod, before returning to your sand castle, though you are mightily distracted, and less focused on your task.

    NICHOLAS SOMMER
Don't know what to do with him yet. Will write him up tomorrow.

CHOI NARI"I..." Left speechless, Nari stares blankly at the alpha. Was she hallucinating this whole exchange?

Ah—! Nari quickly looks down, and sees that her daughter has taken the liberty of pinching her arm, having already sensed what she must be thinking. So this isn't a cruel dream, then.

Still, that gets Nari wondering. It's true that she particularly lingered in the clinics and helped out a lot more there, in comparison to the other places, but did she have training? No, she believed that she did not, and Nari isn't going to let that conveniently slip through the conversation all because of her selfishness.

"I'm sorry to question your authority, but is this... Is that wise?" That sounded a lot more disrespectful and insubordinate than what she had tried for, but she continues. "I mean, I'm not trying to question your judgment, but I have no formal training, and—!" Another pinch on her arm and a strong tug. Nari, once again looks down, and meets the pouting face of her young daughter. It seems that Hana really wants her to just go with it, but Nari's not completely comfortable with that.

"Nevermind, I'm sorry. This is just surprising? I am honored. Incredibly. But, uhm..." She pauses, gaze uncertainly circling the ground. "If you would allow it, yes, I'd like some time to think about this first."

CHOI HANAThis was... This is great news! Your mother had always hoped to provide a greater contribution to the community. (Well, to be exact, she wanted to feel as if she were trusted through the provision of responsibilities, but they can be classified as the same thing. The exact technicalities don't matter right now.)

You look up, but Mommy doesn't look as pleased as you are feeling. Why? She should be ecstatic and happy about this, right? Mommy's probably worrying about something small again. Deciding that you were going to have to be the adult here, you reach out and pinch her arm, shaking her out of her reverie.

It does the trick, but when she looks at you, there's still no sign of elation that you would expect at the news of a promotion. Her expression is still grim, but Mommy looks like she's relaxed. A bit. Maybe enough to just accept the job?

When your mom addresses the alpha lady again, you frown, because apparently, Mommy did not relax at all. This is her chance! She should just take it, and you also want to be able to help around, too! Again, you pull at her arm, and this time, she quiets, but when she finally answers the alpha lady once more, at least she's considering it. It's better than nothing, and you decide that you shouldn't interfere with the adults too much now. Mommy can handle herself for now, probably.

Instead, you head over to the small white puppy over to the side. "Whatcha searching?"

NICHOLAS SOMMERIn the sandby beaches, there's a body.

Sounds pretty alarming, doesn't it? Well, don't worry it's not a dead one.

"Guh—!" Look, he's sputtering already. He's alive and breathing, and all too quickly, he sits up, eyes red and watery, and coughs up water. Nicholas here is still trying to get his bearings, so give him a minute or two. Let him wipe his eyes and and calm his breaths.

    ...

There, he's relaxed, untroubled, unruffled. Well, maybe not the last two, evident by the sad look Nicholas gives the ocean, as if beyond the waters was their family or something. (Well, there's that, but that isn't the main reason for his melancholy.)

What's really bothering him is that the raft he was floating on is nowhere to be seen. That raft took him a few days to build. Days that could have been used to explore the island, but he didn't want to be stuck here any longer.

The smart voice in his head would often try to argue: "It's a lot more rational to actually stay on the island itself, where there is likely to be food and other necessities, rather than be out on the open ocean. Do you even know where you're going to go once you actually set sail? What if you run out of food and water?"

Well, sucks for you, brain. Nicholas only paid attention to that thought now, and he groans angrily, hands on his face, but he doesn't lay back down. He's not the brightest, but no way is he getting more sand in his body. He's already had the unfortunate accident of finding a bunch of sand down there where the sun don't shine. Suffice it to say, it was terrible.

Okay, I'm listening now, my brain. What would be the "rational" thing to do here? But, of course, when he does choose to listen, nothing comes to mind, and he grumbles.

"God, why couldn't I have been stranded in a populated island?" Little did he know that he actually was, but that's to be saved for another time, because his stomach is demanding attention.

For now, he sighs and slowly shifts back to his lupine form, before padding through the jungles, in search of some food.

Actually, yeah, KV probably won't be talking much at first, but I dare say, the moment that KV learns that Eleanor's a demonologist, she's going to be all over the poor girl. (To be honest, if it's something she doesn't know, she'll just outright ask it out actually.)

(oh, and have a good rest, i guess~)

REMEDIO ψ ψ When the familiar and pleasant envelops your being, you are well aware that a certain someone has finally decided to show themselves. You glance from the side, and once you notice the shiver in Sylvia, it is confirmed that Headmaster has finally made his entrance, because you have only encountered one such thing that could send tremors through dragonlings, whom are renowned for their resistance to external temperatures. You are sure that if you turn towards him right now, there will be a whole stage set, as per usual.

"He has arrived. Let us go." There is no need to make an obvious point, but nevertheless, you announce his arrival to the two and gesture for them to make their way over to the front. You hope that the other council mages have made it to the front as well. (That is going by the assumption that the others had even participated in this gathering, but you are optimistic and hope they are present.)

KV ☬ — Wait, is he actually waiting for it? Heavens, better make it clear here. "Hey, wait I was joking, can't take a—!" Before KV can continue, her words are silenced by the frigid breeze that brushes past, forcing her to clutch at her fur mantle tightly and duck closer to Marchosias. It's definitely telling that whatever caused the sudden drop in temperature is powerful, because even a being as powerful as Marchosias mimics the shudder that runs through KV.

Once the cold had settled, KV looks up, and suddenly, there's a rostrum, and someone with long snowy hair up on it. She also notices that the whole area is a lot quieter, all the noises of nature loud in contrast. Just for the heck of it, she's kind of tempted to scream, just to rid herself of the unsettling silence, but ultimately decides against it, far more interested in whatever the person on stage was going to say.

    Wait, is that the principal?

slacker I feel you, and it's totally fine! life takes priority, of course, so don't worry bout it

that being said, Timewalker , i'll need to alert you to another absence, i think? I'm not sure if it'll actually go through, but there's a high chance i'll be absent next week. for the whole of it. i'm praying that doesn't happen, but just wanted to let you know.

sounds interesting! i'll be making one in a bit! ALSO, asking what's the difference between aura and spirit and what do those two affect? i'm also assuming strength pertains to physical strength and power to, well, their power, yes?

    NAME Astrid Agnarsson

    GENDER Cisgender feminine.

    AGE Eighteen years old.

    NATIONALITY British.

    CATEGORY Specialist.

POWER (At the moment, she's still developing her abilities.)

She used to think that she was ill when she started seeing things. Call it a third eye or whatever, but Astrid can see things. Things that aren't supposed to linger in the world. Astrid really isn't sure what those things actually are, but most would refer to what she's seeing as ghosts.

» It's disorienting when whispers start to gather around her ear, telling of secrets to be found. And who are the sources? The ghosts. Spirits. Whatever you want to call them. Astrid is able to commune with them and see them, (though she does avoid the former part.)

» Coming with the ability to commune with these otherworldly things is the ability to mimic their physiology. Astrid, should she choose to do so, can turn her physical body incorporeal and untouchable, as well as somewhat invisible. It's the only reason why she wasn't dead last in the rankings. While she can control herself most of the time, when her emotions get the best of her, don't be surprised if she suddenly loses sharpness in the visual area, and completely disappears from sight. When that happens, though, it's a long time before she regains her self. There have been times, however, when she was on the brink of disappearing almost completely.

    PERSONALITY

Socially. Astrid knows just about everyone on campus, and gets along fairly well with most of them, (yes, even some of the single-digit rankers), disarming others with her jovially carefree nature and fairly pleasant attitude.

While she is liked generally, (take note that generally here is used very loosely,) she's not one to stay. Rather, she's always moving about between many conversations, regardless of whether she's wanted there or not.

Though her friendly and talkative countenance might suggest that she lives and breathes on interaction, Astrid isn't driven by a need to connect with others. As an introvert, she'd be completely fine with being left to her own devices, dreaming the day away or snooping around for imagined treasures. Her going to-and-fro from social circles like a bee is instead fuelled by a need for affirmation and level-headedness.

Mentally. She's not mentally challenged and does fairly well in her day to day, but damn, if she isn't forgetting something. Astrid isn't the most put-together person, though she might try to act as such. She's forgetful, and spends much more time wondering if she is forgetting something than actually remembering what she forgot.

Emotionally. Though her age dictates that she should be mature, Astrid will be the first to admit that she isn't emotionally mature. She's petty and vengeful when wronged, and not one to take an insult lightly. The type to stew things over for long periods, Astrid incubates all her feelings until they eventually explode in a fury. It's not that she chooses to hide her feelings either. She's just incredibly inept with handling them, unsure of how she should deal with it, other than thinking it over, as much as possible, in a logical light.

RANK She's really low in the rankings, standing at #48. (So, is it possible to make it lower? haha)

    NAME Markus Li.

    GENDER Cisgender Masculine.

    AGE Thirteen years old.

    NATIONALITY Chinese.

    CATEGORY Manipulative.

    POWER

Markus has control over gravity, but at the moment, he displays poor control over his powers.

» The most he can do on a daily basis is creating a small sphere that pulls everything nearby towards it. [Think of the skill Singularity in Mass Effect.]

» Through manipulation of the gravity around him, Markus can essentially fly through the skies. However, this skill requires a lot more stamina and finesse out of him, thus, his reluctance to use it.

» The most common way he makes use of his ability, really, is just getting things that are far away from him, functioning somewhat like telekinesis.

    PERSONALITY

Socially. Like Mimosa pudica, Markus shies away at first contact. As much as he wishes to reach out, his shyness and anxiety makes him skittish and fearful. Even with longtime friends, he remains just as closed off and afraid.

It's utter hell for an extrovert to be so incredibly shy, however. He had grown in a noisy and loud household, but after this whole debacle, he's shrunk further into himself.

He needs someone to approach him, because his cowardly nature won't let him do so, however, and when he is approached, please pardon him if he turns into a bumbling mess.

Emotionally. Nevertheless, he, as much as possible, tries to hold himself together. He can't be breaking down, or let himself shrink so much, because too much, and he'll crumble in front of the enemy.

He fears for his life far more. By nature, he's cowardly, and was used to being sheltered before this sh-tshow. He won't take the front lines, he won't try to play the hero, nor will he sacrifice himself to save others.

RANK Not too bad of a standing, honestly. Mark's ranked at #27, and lives under some pretty wealthy and comfortable conditions.

LI MARKUS If Markus was a saint, he would've gone ahead and helped break out the fight.

The thing is: he isn't a saint.

Somewhere at the back, Markus sits fairly far away from all the commotion and stays there, despite the bullying taking place in front of him. As much as he would wish for this to stop, what would be the point? In the case that he chooses to try, what could he possibly do? What could he accomplish? Thinking about it rationally, all that'll happen is that he'll become a new target along with the girl.

He would save no one with his intervention.

That's why when their instructor had entered and stopped the fight, he was immensely thankful. As cowardly as he was in regards to interfering with that business, he was averse to seeing combat and fighting not included in their regime.

Promptly, he wonders about who his partner would be and whether they'll be merciful.
