    A wolf is allowed to choose a mate once they turn 2 years old, their mate will be their lifelong partner. After a mate dies, you may not have another. Any transgressions against your mate are the only way a wolf can choose a new mate




    At the age of 1 year, all wolves must go out into the world and survive on their own for three months to prove themselves. Upon returning they will be celebrated but if they do not return they will be forgotten.




    Having children with a non mate is frowned upon but not forbidden




    Warriors protect the pack with their lives




    Betas are appointed by Alphas




    Alphas are passed down through heritage but an alpha can be challenged by a pack member for their position. If the pack member loses they will be banished from the pack or killed.




    All wolves carry a small totem around their necks in the form of a necklace, they get it after they come back from their rendezvous at the age of 1. This totem is always different and are things such as bears, eagles, ect.

    The dingy bathroom at this crappy convenience store matched my mood as I saw the small pink positive sign on the white stick. I had hoped to forget that horrible night from two months ago but now I would have a reminder if it for eighteen years. I had run away from my home about a week ago when I had taken my first test, I had hoped it was a false positive. This test proved me wrong. A single tear ran down my face as I realized what had happened to my previously perfect life. I quickly wiped it and walked out of the bathroom. My lunch break was over and it was time to return to my job as a waitress at a small diner down the street.




    I heard my name being called as soon as I walked into my workplace, named "Lucy's Diner" after the owner. I detested working here but it was the only place that would take a seventeen year old runaway with no prior work experience. I turned my attention to the only other waitress, Annabelle, who had just called me over to her. She motioned me towards a small family and I began working. The smell of french fries and hamburgers became so implanted in my brain that I began to smell nothing else. The hours slowly ticked by until my shift was over and I could walk out the doors.




    I kept my finger on the 911 call button as I walked home from the diner. The neighborhood was definently not the safest but it was all I could afford. As I fell asleep at night, I often heard gun shots. The smell of grease wafted off of me when I finally got home. I was currently staying in a small apartment and I desperately needed roommates. I was supposed to interview some potential ones after my job and as much as I needed to take a shower, I needed to do these interviews first. It was hard to find anybody willing to live here so I needed these three to agree to live here. As far as I knew the applicants were two boys and one girl. All were around the same age as me. I was so lost in my thoughts that a sudden knock at the door nearly made me jump out of my socks. I quickly got up to answer it and opened the door to find three people, about my age, waiting.
