Something was off about this idiot and Gary wanted to find out now even if Ash didn't want to tell him which would have made him even more persistent of finding out but he decided to go with a careless retort despite caring deep down on the inside "Whatever Ketchum, stop being such a stick in the mud." It had been forever since Gary had seen Ash but he definitely heard a lot about him during his own trips around the world especially from his grandfather, Samuel Oak, he wouldn't stop mentioning Ash and his endeavors. Gary Oak, ha, he was a joke even if would never admit it to anyone not even Ash or his family. He admired Ash though it was very low-key and hell, the other probably didn't even know but even behind Gary's sneers and teasing he did truly care just that he would never come clean about it. He'd rather die than admit it. He was about to add something else before he noticed that Ash got a head start.

There was the Ash, he knew and. . .well, he better catch up to the other and let him beat him. He would start on with a trot before his paws thumped against the staircase swiftly, he had always been observant of four-legged creatures back at home especially his Umbreon. Tail was for balance and well, he just had to do the rest as he managed to catch up to Ash. He glanced over at him out the corner of his hazel-green eyes, he would feel his speed increasing realizing how long his strides and legs were. "See you at the top, Ash!" He mewed as he would pass him continuing to bolt forward keeping careful with where his paws would touch. One mistake and Gary could fly off this staircase any moment.

"Phew, that felt great." He mewed quietly to himself as he finally made it to the top and would sit his ass down as he examined his paws and glanced over at where he had left Ash. Cute. I mean, he had won and he felt so proud of himself right now but he wouldn't brag about it.

What was he supposed to do when his former rival was acting funny? Was there something he could do to the other so he'd feel better? Maybe if he forced it out of them but how, so many questions swamped his mind as he flicked both ears back soon taking a seat as a sigh escaped his parted jaws. What was he supposed to do with Ash Ketchum? He hadn't seen him in forever since Sinnoh and that was it, he would touch the pokeball half that he wore around his neck trying to figure something out and mentally prepare. Some girls passed by and he'd them a flirtatious smirk even if it all felt wrong as they walked away giggling and blushing. How long was he going to keep this up? How long was he going to let his feelings plague him like this? Maybe he should just overall forget Ash Ketchum and move on. It all sounded so easy but in reality, it was difficult and he hated it. He'd cross that bridge when he needed to but for now he continued sitting there fumbling with the pokeball half that he had knowing that Ash had the other.

Ah no, not for me. . .Not sure for Ketchum here, he might want one. . .It's good to see you too, Misty. . ." Where was that other guy? The Snorlax faced one who loved both Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny. Who knew. Ash did apparently.
