Yes, a something. There were no someones nor any somebeings, but simply a something. In the night, someone had arranged a few rocks near the waterfall, and left a single, large egg sitting inbetween them, submerged in water. The current not strong enough to drag the heavy thing away, it simply sat there, what appeared to be scales covering its shell. It's colors hid it well, but it was all too clear that whatever it was, it was neither water nor rock. Nay, it was something else entirely; an egg, left here for some unknown reason.

The heavy looking egg was as large as your average husky, scales acting like armor to protect it from degrading in the current. It seemed cold, but it didn't seem to mind that; in fact, it appeared to be enjoying the icy waters. At least, people could sense that around it. It was likely somewhat telepathic; it now attempted to draw others near it, giving others a mere urge, easily ignored and dismissed, to go over to it's location and place a paw, talon, or some form of hand on it. Perhaps it wanted attention, perhaps it was uncomfortable, but that would be more difficult to tell.

For now, it waited, for the egg was very patient. Well, for an egg. It didn't know of the concept of time yet, and alas, it likely wouldn't need to. The animal inside of it was unknown, but whatever it was, it was certainly large. At least, it would grow up to be, if it's egg was that big. It could be stolen and placed here, or worse abandoned, but the egg didn't know. It just knew it was an egg, and it just wanted some company.. and perhaps a few hugs. Yes, hugs would be nice. What was a hug again? It didn't know, but it certainly liked the sound of that word. It sounded.. comforting. Yes. Perhaps it should ask for many hugs when it grows up.[/fancypost]

With the shell around it, it could try all it's might but it couldn't know when things were there. However, the egg felt something; a touch, from a smaller being. It was content; it had company. It reached out to say hello, but yet, no greetings went through. The egg was still an egg, it's words couldn't reach through the outer shell that protected it from many a thing. A quiet skree of it's own unhearable to anything outside of the egg, the creature reached out a limb and lightly touched the inner side of it's protective shell, pondering, wondering.

What was this newcomer like? It remembered the protective clutches of it's mother, and the hugs.. yes, that's what they had been!.. the hugs of it's older siblings. Yet this egg hadn't hatched with the others. It had waited, and waited, ever so curious and ever so patient to see what would happen. Perhaps a newcomer had been asked to greet it? Yes, yes, that had to be it. Closed eyes but a wide open mind reached out towards the pup, trying to say something.. anything.. Los hi til? Zu'u los het. It struggled to say, it's native language not that of any common sense.

Yet it tried anyways. It wanted to commune. Hugs would be nice, too, but communication was often key for the creature. With no way to speak while still in the egg, it pondered.. could it reach it's head out of it's shell, just for a moment, just to speak for one time? It was scared of abandoning it's shell, something it might soon forget. It was safe here; nice and cold, nice and safe. At least, that was what it knew, and it knew well of the makings of it's own biology.

All the egg was emitting was a simple urge, a simple plea for attention. It was a child of some fashion, and all children wanted attention. They either wanted food or comfort or food again, but in most cases, it was something to do to pass the time. However, for this creature's sense, they just wanted to know. Knowledge seemed so important to it, so important to all. It noted it was being hugged, but not in the way it remembered; it remembered being encompassed by limbs, held securely in a creature far bigger than its grasp, but never something so.. small.

Perhaps it was a younger sibling. They didn't remember communing with a younger sibling back when they were all eggs, but perhaps this one had been mute. Yes, since it had stayed in it's egg for much longer than expected, it was reasonable if it had a younger sibling, it would be small, too. Newly hatched, perhaps. It was greatful for the attention from a being that demanded such attention themself. Pressing its head on the inner shell, it tried so hard to hear beyond it, but the scaled shell didn't offer it that.

Humming. Yes, it detected that. Though it hadn't been directed towards it, sound moved quicker through matter then air; at least, for it it did. It heard the humming. What a strange language; if the sibling was mute, why would they not use their Voice? Brod dovah, fen hi hon? Kolos los hin thu'um? It telepathically sent out once more, a faint mind of distress appearing in it's head. Perhaps it's kin was in danger; nay, perhaps they were all under attack! Surely, with an additional Voice, they could all defend themselves..

That line of thought only made it conflicted. Stay in the egg? Leave, and be just? It was of tradition for the Elder to speak first, and alas, it was certainly the elder if its guess of siblingship was right.

Another touch- instantly, the telepathic being recognized it and yet another being, rather than the first one again. A bit overwhelming, but it handled it well. From the inside of it's shell, it placed it's head where it felt a head pressing on the outer side, a quiet hum radiating out of it's mouth. It was filled with power, it's voice was- yet as it had formed no word, this power wasn't projected in the form of a shout. Yet it recognized this harmless manner of speaking; it didn't know it was known as telepathy, but it knew it didn't project itself the way the Thu'um did.

Aan vomindok zul. Los hi kras? It responded, unfamiliar with English, the language of mortal people. It was only familiar with the speech of dovah, but perhaps nonverbal communication would respond be better. However, it seemed to get the message all the same; perhaps being able to see would be better. It was ready to hatch at any time, but for some reason, it was unlike its siblings; it was able to stay in the egg, it still had room to move. Perhaps it should stay, but.. curiosity had it on it's ends. Just a tiny peek- that'd be all it'd take. Though he knew not of which direction it should take, it adjusted itself only faintly, and with that, released a single, powerful kick with both of it's back limbs.

    Crack.

Sadly, the kick was down, and now water was rushing through the crack. Not that it minded, though. The way it was, it didn't mind water at all. Inside of the egg was just it and air; no longer anything else, not after all this time. However, as the unfamiliar substance rushed in, it lowered a limb to the puddle and quietly placed a cloven-like hoof into the cold, chilly waters. It was calming, serene, but most of all: distracting. Krah. Daar los dii Tinvaak. It mused, realizing this lost knowledge as it felt the water. It was always there, yes, but the water just reminded it of it.

Such odd words spoken by those outside- perhaps if it tried hard enough, it would be able to understand. That had to be the case! Once again, the dovah released a powerful kick, further breaking the shell. It was so close to freedom; yet, it feared this. Before, it had known nothing but the egg, and now it could not undo the damage already done to it.

Though, with the sound of voices the telepathic dragon didn't mind. After hearing more and more different voices, strange voices speaking strange, strange words, it's natural curiousity and craving for knowledge caused it to once again kick. The crack on the bottom side of the shell was blantantly visible now, water rushing in through the crack. It was a good thing it both had gills and lungs; though, not most would know that. It murr'd again, a scree-like sound forming no word and activating no thu'um.

It was heavy, though it didn't exactly know what was going on outside of the shell it hid in. However, the water moving and it moving itself brought it's attention to the crack. Okay, new touch- it didn't recognize this being, either. Now in a heavy shell full of water, air, and a baby dragon, it made one last attack towards the opening crack. Instead of with it's feet, it headbutted it, stubborn little horns on the top of it's head doing the final hit to the egg.

With a splinter and a crack, the top of the armored egg slid off, and just a little, little head poked out. Eyes a cyan, the bluish dragon's body was still hidden well within the egg, folded and unused wings covering it and hiding it. Only the long neck was visible, but yet only the small little head poked out. For an egg of that size, the dragon was certainly.. smaller... then expected. Creme-colored imp horns were visible on it's forehead, right next to pale bluish white fin-like ears, while both nostrils and gills were visible.

Though he didn't look the traditional look of the Skyrim-borne dragon, he wasn't really aware of what the traditional look way. The first thing he saw was Mae, and then Stjepan, and then everyone else. Thus, the variety of creatures he saw was imprinted as 'normal.' Yet, too shocked and surprised to telepathically speak, it simply stared from inside of the safety of it's shell. The shell, alas, would likely make good armor itself; then again, it wasn't thinking of the future at the moment.[/fancypost]

Alas, the young dovah didn't understand the language of the others. However, he himself did not speak; it was tradition that the elder spoke first, and he was certainly not these one's elders. He'd watch Mae shift forms, but though not of it as a trick of an eye or shocking. If something was the first time you ever saw, surely it would seem normal? Spreading large wings, the youngling would beat them fiercely, once, to shoot himself out of his egg for mere moments before he landed in front of Mae and Cade. He was unaware of the agreement they were making, though it was likely he'd appreciate it.

Turning his head towards the eggshell he had just left, he pondered his own name. Surely, it must be important; it was whispered to him upon learning he could telepathically speak. Yet, he had never thought much of it. Roll 1d20 for a history check. Legs somehow already steady, the creature standing at 3'4 at the shoulders used his long neck to turn his head, looking about. So many had gathered; was this normal? Alas, he couldn't see any other of what he assumed to be his own kind aside from Mae. Perhaps Mae had been in disguise before? Tail trailing behind the young dovah, the bluish creature flew quickly, twisting through the air before finally landing near the entrence of the camp, folding large wings to his side. Once again, he raised his head; "Zu'u kogaan."

Taking a deep breath, he'd turn his head towards the entrence to the camp, wide eyes unsure. He knew what it was, sure, but he had never been inside of it; it was certainly scary, to say the very least. Caves were not the place of dovah; rather, the sky was much more peaceful. He himself favored water, really, but the sky would certainly do.
