with the extensive training that was taking place for the bloodclan war, she needed a break. the sunningrocks seemed like a good area to wander off too, it was an area open for all clans. maybe there was someone there who didn't discuss bloodclan every minute.
on her way to the sunningrocks, cherry noticed that the forest looked tired. mice were dragging themselves around like they didn't care about getting eaten. there wasn't a peep coming out of the birds, either, it was sad almost, cherrypaw missed their songs.
cherry didn't know what to expect, the sunningrocks looked boring and smelled bitter. it was quiet, too say the least. she sighed, dusting a small part of snow off the rock.

bloodclan was ruining everything for skyclan. after sheograpth died during a raid, the bloodclanners swore revenge. for moons, everyone was on their toes until a bloodclan patrol burned down the territory. after a forceful removal of their home, thrushstar announced a war against bloodclan.
the idea that cherrypaw had to soon raid bloodclan, made her stomach twist. taking back shadowclan felt like a lesson, after the order to sit back cherrypaw zoned the events out. if you asked her too recall what happened, she would have to sit back and ponder for a few minutes.
another cat's voice rang out, kicking cherry out of her thoughts. cherry was slow on her way over, cautious of whoever it was. when the loner was in view, she eyeballed him for a long time, staring at his collar the longest.
"you're on skyclans territory, you know that, right?" she spoke, feeling her fur prickle with anxiety.

cherrypaw found herself trying to clear her head more often, there was a lot on her mind as of now. bloodclan was currently looming over her head, not to mention the member she found a few sunrises ago. the only excitement was the dead fox she came across, but now, that felt long ago.
soon enough, cherrypaw found herself at sunningrocks with someone else. she didn't know who they were, her nose caught whiff of thunderclan, that's all. with a flick of her tail in greeting, said, "hi, mind of a sit with you?"
although it was good manners to wait, cherry still decided to lay down near the older cat. still, she made sure not to lay across the border, not wanting to get into trouble if they got caught. "i'm surprised the river hasn't frozen over yet... this leafbare feels like it's been going on for days."
