/this got really long but there's a paragraph for everyone so??
NORTH keeps an eye on the twins, but he still sees Bigby coming out of his peripheral vision, and he angles himself toward the larger canine, giving him a greeting smile before looking back to the kittens. Bigby is a curious character to North; he can't figure him out so quickly, but he doesn't do that with many other people, either. It just seems more difficult with someone who North knows has to care very deeply, from the defensive way he's seen him respond before, yet he manages to hide most of it. It's hard to know what a puzzle will look like if you can't see it.
"Wait, what?" He looks back at the wolf quickly, surprised, and a little embarrassed, but he knows he's being teased from the almost there smirk he's wearing. North huffs, and means to answer, but Connie beats him to bat.
"He's not our daddy- our daddy's not purple, and he's a lot shorter!" She packs more snow into the snowman's side, distracted already, and North shrugs with a sheepish grin.
"There you have it." He clears his throat and checks on Derrin's progress, who must have taken inspiration from his sister because now he has eight rocks for the snowman's eyes, arranged like a spider's. Frankly it's creepy as hell but North doesn't say that, and then his attention is on one of the newer members. Nicotine is a nice guy, from what he's seen, but he hasn't seen too much of him yet. Obviously he has a sense of humor, even if the puns are leaning towards the bad side, though North's always tended to laugh at bad jokes and good jokes alike. "That was awful," he says with a light chuckle, shaking his head, and he looks up from watching Connie fix the base to Nicotine's enthusiasm. He seems embarrassed about it, but they all have those things that remind them of when they were kids.
"Okay, but if it's an army, we're in charge!" Der's expression toward Nicotine is almost stern, and North has to smother a laugh, which turns into a coughing sound when Trey comments. Actually, it's the wink that does it. "What am I supposed to say to that?" So he...doesn't. Luckily he can pretend he's busy with the kids, since Derrin is now giving his snowman eight arms. "Hey, don't put too many, okay? He might not be able to hold all of them."
North watches him pout, but he removes several so he's left with four arms instead. Better, but still creepy. The serval looks up to see Icarus as he joins the group, and he doesn't know him especially well either, though he's always been sociable and North appreciates that. Plus he still likes his cape, and Derrin does too, from the way he's staring at it. "That'd be great," the serval answers with a smile, and Connie nods at the compliment she's given. "If there are two noses, then it can smell in two different directions! At the same time!"
Still smiling, North shakes his head, and he glances over all the people who are here, more than surprised that there are so many of them here. He's not complaining, though; far from it. It's nice to have everyone together for something that isn't a meeting or someone getting injured, as important as it is to be there for both of those. Turning towards Lorraine, he can see that she finds the whole thing pretty amusing, and that's good; it's what North wants. They all deserve a break and if this is what helps them there, he's more than glad for it. "You could help them with their army of snowmen," the serval suggests lightly, hoping that she will stay, because again, she could use some relaxation. Not that she looks like she could use it, but- er-
A distraction from his own rambling thoughts comes in the form of Scott, and concern immediately fills pale eyes. He still doesn't look good, and this cold won't be doing him any favors. He's not his keeper, though; Scott will do what he wants to do, and as much as North wants to help, it doesn't mean that Scott will want it. "We can find something for you."
"You can hold the scarves!" Der exclaims suddenly, rushing over to try and throw one over Scott's neck, but he misses and it drops to the ground instead. "How about you ask him first?" North, once again, has to restrain a laugh. "Uh. Okay. Can we put scarves on you to hold?"
While he's doing that, North spots the two snowballs soaring towards them, and he shouts at Bigby,"Lookout!" He'd dodge, but he's healing and he doesn't want to make it worse, so he takes the snowball in the face and splutters, shaking the cold from his face. "North is down!" Connie shrieks, and she dives behind one of the snowmen, while Der is still there, wanting to put scarves on Scott.
