The angelihund gave the newcomer a real smile this time, happy that the serval had accepted the Light into his heart. Well, at least in words--it would be Amatus' action that would show if this was true later. "Welcome to the kingdom of Sanctum, Amatus," the angelihund finally concluded. The great white beast glanced over quickly at Fidelitas, gesturing for the young one to go ahead and welcome the newest member of their community, too.

Fluffing his mane and wings up slightly to trap warm air against body and ward off the cold, Tephrael tilted his head slightly, eyeing the heavens. It didn't appear that the day was going to get warmer and the snow didn't seem to want to stop. It would be best for him to take Amatus to some sort of shelter before the cold crept into their bones and slowed the blood in their veins.

"We should find some shelter before the snow gets worse," the angelihund suggested with a twitch of his ears. Already, he could feel the tips of his ears go numb in the biting wind. "I know of a small temple where we can take shelter, Amatus, a short distance away by flight." Tephrael gestured towards his back, inviting both the serval and Fidelitas to climb on. He would be able to bear their weight--the angelihund was the size of a horse and could bear most smaller creatures comfortably.

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]He couldn't help but feel a little bit of amusement at Amatus' slight hesitation and his caution. Though many creatures had wings these days and could offer the experience of flight to others, it appeared that this joy was not something that Amatus was well acquainted with. The pale creature gave a small nod of agreement towards the serval's request. "Of course," he returned.

Tephrael adjusted himself, shifting the weight so that they rested comfortably against his broad back. However, an ear perked slightly at Amatus' next question. There was a flicker of shame--how could he have forgotten? "Forgive me for not introducing myself earlier--my name is Tephrael. It's a pleasure to meet you, Amatus."

With that, the angelihund spread the four remaining wings he had against the wind and felt the air cushion underneath the wide area offered by the appendages. With a few powerful beats of the smoky grey wings, they were off into the air. Narrowing his eyes against the whipping cold and snow, Tephrael could spot the dim light of a small commune tucked against the mountain. That was the place to go.

Angling his wings and adjusting his course, the angelihund began to head towards that area.

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]
Tephrael was generally wary of most newcomers. He was of the belief that the kingdom should shut its borders and administer the most stringent tests to anyone who wanted to join the community. After all, they had to be fully devoted to the Light before they should be allowed inside--otherwise, they risked bringing Darkness into the valley they called home.

Amatus was someone he kept an eye on. The angelihund wasn't sure what to make of the warrior serval, so he found himself attempting to follow up on the other when he had a chance. And here, he found Amatus deep in silent contemplation with their books.

There was a trace of surprise in his features, but Tephrael hid it as he padded closer towards the serval, making a small chuff of noise to announce his presence if the serval was not yet aware. "Enjoying the books?" the creature offered, raising a brow. He glanced over the texts by the serval quickly before his attention turned back towards Amatus.

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]
Grieving? Tephrael thought that was no excuse to treat a guest badly. However, the pale angelihund stifled his comments about that and nodded in return towards the LithiumClan leader. "Apologies accepted," he answered. "That would be wonderful. I look forward to the opportunity of speaking with your Clan."

At the generous offer of water and food, Tephrael shook his head. "No, thank you--I should be fine for the journey back. The offer is much appreciated, however," the creature returned. "If there is no other matter to discuss, I will be off then, Mister Hearst. "

As the Grandmaster scurried about, meeting all the outsiders, Tephrael settled down near the lantern making table, watching the young ones of Sanctum to make sure that none of the outsiders did anything untoward to them. The angelihund was naturally distrustful of all these people and expected them to pull something, despite what the Grandmaster assured. They were tainted with Darkness, all of them, and they bore their taint to Sanctum when they came here. The only comfort he took was in the fact that this was not exactly inside the borders of Sanctum.

Flicking his long tail, he offered a small piece of praise towards a kitten who had just finished his own lantern. The pale winged canine then returned his guardian's gaze over the proceedings in his usual wary manner.

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]
He was back here in HawkClan again. The angelihund had no opinion of them yet, though they seem guarded in a manner. But who could blame them? The darkness was strong outside of Sanctum and turned the thoughts of friends against each other...

The angelihund stepped to the borders and waited for someone to approach, pale wings folding against his side.

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]
Despite the leader's promise of alerting them when the next meeting was to happen, Tephrael had received no such invitation. The angelihund was mildly disappointed in the Clan's commitment, but kept those opinions to himself. He would report to the Grandmaster afterwards, perhaps, but he was to deliver this invitation right now.

The angelihund arrived at the borders, his pale eyes glancing around for someone to approach him.

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]
    // no problem

There was a small twitch of his ear at the news. The leader gone? Dylan had been the only one in all of LithiumClan who had shown him an ounce of kindness. Of course, he was mildly disappointed by the news, but leaders come and gone--but the Light was eternal and so was Darkness, locked in a struggle with jaws at each others' throats. Even if there was a change of leadership, Tephrael would still have come to do his duty in bringing the Light to these tainted creatures.

"My condolences," the angelihund returned slowly. "I would like to speak with the new leader then. In addition, the Grandmaster extends an invitation to LithiumClan to attend our Festival of Hope. The main activity is creating wish lanterns, but there is food and drink for those who prefer otherwise."

The angelihund turned his head towards the cub, a small smile on his features. Young ones were such pure creatures--they deserved better than to be raised with the darkness heavy on the land and with the threat of violence over their heads. Especially outside the community of Sanctum--he'd heard tales of brutal captures and tortures and even murders.

"Of course HawkClan doesn't," Tephrael assured Alphabetcub. At least, not outwardly. Some groups frowned upon those acts, but there was nothing banning them outright. "Anyone can learn on how to be good--if your leader says so, I will visit and teach you on how to be good, little one."

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]A long ear twitched as he heard voices in the distance. The angelihund raised his head, his pale eyes scanning the foliage until he spotted the figure of Pit heading towards him. The smoky colored angelihund dipped his head graciously as he was addressed. After Pit came a few more creatures. He was about to answer to Pit, at least, until he heard Karin's remark.

It was acidic. The angelihund's muzzle twitched slightly as he held back a frown. Was this what passed for friendliness these days? "You must have mistaken me for someone else--I have never met you before in my life," Tephrael answered coolly. He had not been rude to anyone in his previous visit here and wondered who was poisoning his reputation within this group. "And I have not been unkind to any HawkClanner here--who are you to place such a judgment on me without evidence or proof?" Despite the fact that she was the accuser, Tephrael thought that her own words also could apply to herself.

It was the sign of darkness in these lands that people would be so arrogant to presume such things. Ignoring Karin now by pointedly turning away from the HawkClanner, he returned his attention towards Pit again and finally answered the original inquiries. "Tephrael, of Sanctum--I am here to extend an invitation towards HawkClan to join our Festival of Light. The main activity is making wish lanterns, but there is food and drink provided for those who prefer to enjoy themselves."

"A wish lantern is a lantern that you make a wish on before you let it go. The lantern goes into the sky...perhaps becoming one of the stars in the night," Tephrael offered Perseus kindly. What an innocent little child--though others may have taken his second inquiry to be rude, the angelihund only saw it as playful childish curiosity. "I am an angelihund, child." He was pleased by the child's response to the Festival of Hope and his head turned towards the leader when he arrived.

The angelihund did not like the tone of this James. Dylan had been much more welcoming in receiving his offers. If they did not want to hear what he had to say, they could simply leave the meeting. It was not as if he was going to talk before the leader got the important announcements, the things that people came to meetings to listen to, out of the way. However, the leader dictated the situation. "Of course, James," Tephrael agreed. "A pleasure to meet you. My name is Tephrael."

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]Tephrael could not help but get defensive. As an envoy of Sanctum, he was envoy of the Light, and to hear the purpose of his presence here and his own self smeared--that was an affront to the Light. The angelihund was determined to find out who had begun the campaign of denouncing his presence here. There was a brief movement in his wings as he listened to the HawkClanner Darkknight. "The only thing I have said to HawkClan prior to this occasion was a proposal from the Grandmaster about a discussion on how to resist the influence of the antiClans in our lives. I am curious as to how that can be twisted into something that turns this noble cause into something to be mocked."

The only HawkClanner that had been participating in the discussion in his first meeting in HawkClan was the leader--Ichigo. Had the leader himself spread rumors to destroy the foundations of a relationship between HawkClan and Sanctum? For what reason, Tephrael could not guess, but the angelihund was incensed at the thought that someone would dare falsify his words. There was a set to his jaws but he managed out, "Forgive me--I am merely irritated at how my purpose has been...so denigrated here without cause."

The Light would have wanted him to forgive them. After all, the influence of Darkness was strong outside of Sanctum and it could very well be the Darkness working a mortal guise to twist his words. He was satisfied enough that Darkknight had accepted the invitation. "A pleasure to meet you, Darkknight. I look forward to seeing HawkClanners at our Festival. The Grandmaster has selected friendly groups such as ThunderClan, BlizzardClan, and others. Any groups with antiClan tendencies were not invited."

"However, I do have one more request--I would like to figure out who is attempting to undermine the extension of a relationship between HawkClan and Sanctum through the spreading of rumors."

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]
Tephrael spotted someone moving alone through the Festival. The Grandmaster had told the community to be welcoming towards all those who were coming and make sure they were enjoying the festival, so Tephrael decided that he would see if he could do anything with this one.

The angelihund approached James curiously, raising a brow. Letting out a small sound to announce his presence, Tephrael offered, "Making lanterns not to your liking?" He himself was rubbish at making them with his paws so usually, the children banded together to make one for the creature. The first Festival he had witnessed, he'd been astounded by the sight of the lanterns floating on the water and rising into the air that he could've believed that these lanterns became stars in the night, though he knew better.

[fancypost bgcolor=; width: 480px; font: normal 16px times new roman; borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]"I wonder what has turned her opinion for her to label me with such a term," Tephrael remarked dryly. Was name-calling not mocking? He was not going so far as accusing her of disagreeing with the promotion of the good. At least, not out loud. Perhaps he could talk with Tiberius when he returned about HawkClan's position--if there were creatures in this group that disagreed with the staying the influence of antiClans, perhaps they were not worth his time. Compared with even LithiumClan, he had been treated with a worse response. It was a sad state in the world when envoys were harassed and unwelcomed.

He turned towards Karin as the HawkClanner directed the slight inquiry at her and the angelihund's ears twitched with irritation at her response. "Perhaps," he commented, humorlessly. "And what have I said today that makes you regard me as close-minded? I have not shouted down anyone's opinions. I have not forced my ideas on others. I am only irritated that people are placing judgment on me before I do anything worthy of it."

"Before, I only requested a discussion with your leader about the influence of antiClans. Now, I come here with an invitation and, even before I open my mouth, I am treated so rudely by you. Is my reaction not justified?" Of course he was outraged--he'd only had a few words with Ichigo before he left and already, someone he had never met before was placing judgment on him for something he hasn't even done.

"Everyone has the choice to be rude or polite--but you chose the rude response," Tephrael finally stated. "Perhaps you can reflect on that." The white angelihund turned decisively away from Karin, deciding that he was done with that conversation. Some people were just rude, after all. He offered Darkknight a small smile before dipping his head respectfully towards the HawkClanner. "I look forward to seeing you at our Festival, Darkknight."
