    Spottedpaw turned to look at the tom. "Hi Caterwaulpaw! Two mice," she replied, a smile on her maw. Spottedpaw had always been a good hunter, just like her sister, Halestorm, because they were both built for speed and stealth. In battle, the apprentice was quite weak, but did a good job at confusing her opponent by darting around them, but that only proved to be useful for so long. "Although I missed a few kills this time," she confessed. "The leaves cracked under my paws and it alerted the prey." Her tail lashed once. Leaf-fall was no fun.

    "Hi Rowanpaw and Leafpaw!" Spottedpaw mewed as the two she-cats arrived. She turned back to Ashheart. "Okay!" The she turned to Tanglepaw, flashing her friend a smile. Then she arranged herself into a battle stance, keeping her claws sheathed, of course.

    Spottedpaw nodded in agreement. I suppose there is always a next time.
    "Mhm. I'm worried about leaf-bare," she mewed anxiously. "I heard that it's really bad. Apparently prey gets really scarce. I've never experienced one myself, but I can just imagine how bitter it is!" The usually well-fed apprentice hated the idea of having an empty belly. ThunderClan's forest was usually plentiful in prey, and she couldn't imagine not having a mouse around every bush. "One of the elders even told me that their sister died during leaf-bare!" Her eyes grew round. "I can't imagine losing Halestorm!" She felt a rush of panic at the thought of losing her precious sister. Although the apprentice was more likely to die in the harsh conditions of leaf-bare, as she was younger and smaller, but she was certain she would cope with it.

    Spottedpaw slipped around a bush, her pelt brushing the leaves noisily as if to announce her arrival. She'd been observing Softpaw's training closely. He looked like he was having no fun at all training with a log, so she figured maybe he might like training with a real cat. Besides, all the extra battle training would do her well. "Hi Softpaw," she greeted the black apprentice cheerfully. "May I train with you?"

    Spottedpaw arrived after Nightstar, bewildered. What were all these SkyClan cats doing here? Her gaze trailed to her leader, and he looked calm. What was going on? Nightstar said something about flames. Her fur bristled. There must have been a fire on SkyClan territory. How awful for them! She felt sympathy for the gathering SkyClan cats. The apprentice couldn't imagine having to flee her home, terrified for her life. She assumed they were going to stay here, which she was okay with.

Spottedpaw had grown to like the rush of adrenaline she felt when she was fighting, and the feel of victory. She really had to sharpen up her battle skills, so what better way to do it than with her best friend?

    Spottedpaw's eyes gleamed playfully and she crouched back, bunching her muscles. With these cats watching, she had a choice to embarrass herself or succeed... So of course, the apprentice chose the latter. Claws sheathed, she leaped at Tanglepaw, attempting to bowl her friend over.

    "Well, if you don't want to, we can do something else," Spottedpaw suggested, noticing how uncomfortable Tanglepaw was at the idea of battle training. "How about about a race?" As she said the word 'race' her eyes brightened. "We'll race to Snakerocks and back here. Whoever wins gets first pick of the fresh-kill pile!" She waited eagerly for her friend to respond.

    Spottedpaw kicked Tanglepaw's belly with her hind legs in an attempt to get Tanglepaw off. If she succeeded, she would stand up again and wait for her opponent's next move.

    The apprentice waved her tail in greeting to Clearpaw. Spottedpaw's whiskers twitched and she dug her claws in the wood and pulled, straining to get the log off. Finally, the log was off Softpaw, followed by the sound of it lightly thudding on the ground. "There you go," she mewed.

    Spottedpaw bounded over and waved her tail in greeting, a smile decorating her features. She'd never formally introduced herself to Amberkit before, though she had heard his name many a times. The apprentice knew the names of most of the cats in ThunderClan. "Hi Amberkit, Shiningkit, Stoatkit," she greeted the three kits, seating herself on the ground and wrapping her tail around her paws.

    Flicking an ear, she turned her head as a new voice spoke. She knew this tom's name was Goosestep. "Okay!" she agreed. "How about you two spar first, then maybe Softpaw and I?" the spotted apprentice suggested. She plucked at the earth with her claws. The she-cat was eager to start.

    Spottedpaw had emerged sleepily from her den, shaking off bits of warm moss that clung to her golden fur. Blinking sleep from her eyes, she seated herself at the middle of the crowd, green gaze looking expectantly up at Nightstar.
    At the mention of SkyClan's territory being burnt, she felt a pang of sympathy for the Clan. Poor SkyClan. If there was one Clan she didn't mind, it was SkyClan.
    Her eyes brightened and ears shot up as Nightstar spoke of training sessions. Wonderful! Spottedpaw couldn't wait to partake in one.
    The apprentice's eyes gleamed as Nighstar praised her and her best friend. She smiled sheepishly and grew warm with embarrassment, though she was ready to burst with pride. She puffed out her chest as gazes turned on her. Her leader had praised her in front of the whole Clan!
    She felt a pang of sadness at the news that Stormypaw was demoted. I suppose it's for the good of the Clan.
