UGH I'm sorry y'all, my muse keeps trying to die. I don't wanna drop ember tho. I'm trying to kick it back into gear. Can ember return to shadowclan soon? Like a patrol come and get her from tc?

Finally feeling secure in her knowledge of herbs, and feeling like she had overstayed her welcome in ThunderClan, the small calico had parted ways with the clan and made her way through the tunnels and to the border of ShadowClan. She decided to wait there patiently. Emberpaw knew she smelled entirely of ThunderClan now, and didn't want to raise the alarm. She was excited to finally be back in her cold, swampy home. ThunderClan had been great, but it was not home to her. She couldn't wait to finally eat a lizard again once the weather warmed up!

Emberpaw stood, her tail waving at Mistheart. "Hi." She mewed. "Of course I am, I'm coming back home. It's me, Emberpaw!" Was she truly that unrecognizable? She couldn't wait to smell like ShadowClan again. Her blue eye regarded Snakestar pleasantly as he approached her. "ThunderClan treated me well. Icegaze is a wise medicine cat." She assented, head nodding. The calico was happy for the friendships she had made while in the forest clan. Perhaps they could meet again on more pleasant terms one day. An unknown apprentice suddenly, sheepishly came into view, and Emberpaw purred softly, hoping the alleviate his worry.

"Hello Littleberry! How are things? I hope they've been well." She stepped over the border, feeling content to finally be back in her swamp. ThunderClan had been rather chaotic for her time there, so she would be unwilling to divulge much. It wouldn't seem fair to exploit them while they were very weak with sickness. She was glad to be away from it, though.

{sorry for innactivity ++ aging her up some bc a medicine cat at 8 moons is... odd to me. also i cut my finger bad so typing is very awkward rn, expect short posts}
The death of Littleberry had been sudden. Emberpaw had just become comfortable in her home when the dogs had attacked. Her blue eye seemed exhausted, as she finally made her way into ShadowClan camp, but she still stood tall. She had traveled to the Moonstone, and received StarClans' blessing and her medicine cat name. Now Embertail, she took a deep breath and looked around her home. Time to get back to work healing.

Freakin ay guys I am so so sorry for just not being here. After the site change my muse has been not so great, and a lot has happened since then too, occupying my time and headspace. Not to mention I gave myself a good 1-inch deep cut while chopping veg today so urgh.
-
Yeaahh thankfully it's not a huge cut otherwise. Stupid carrots, I hate squaring them off for dicing. It rolled away when my knife came down and got my finger instead
-
Her blue eye regarded the kit, and she smiled wearily. "Yes, Littleberry was there. A lot of ShadowClan was there, in fact. And the Moonstone was beautiful." Ratkit's bubbly attitude gave her a small swell of happiness, which would give her strength for the coming sunrises. ShadowClan seemed so dour lately, it made her glad to see a few were recovering emotionally. Her mottled tail twitched in greeting at her fellow clanmates. "It's Embertail now." The calico responded to Snakestar.
Embertail blinked at Oakpaw, then approached him carefully, placing her tail over his shoulder. It was okay to feel grief. She always considered it better to let your feelings out than to let them fester inside of you. -
"Hello, Lizardbreath." The medicine cat, busy sorting out herbs, had noticed the queen. Though the black she seemed to be deep in thought, Embertail decided it would be good to check up on her. "How are you doing?"
-
Her eye cast a reluctant look upon the herb stores. A snowy winter had not been kind to the precious plants, and neither had the recent dog attack. They were running low on goldrenrod, comfrey, cobwebs, not to mention thyme and marigold. Embertail sighed softly, before she stepped out of the medicine den, her tail raised. "If anyone is healthy enough, I'd love to have some help looking for herbs." She mewed, raising her demure voice a few levels so that she would be heard.
-
Embertail laughed softly at Ratkit, sitting down on the cool ground beside Oakpaw, her tail curling around her paws. "You probably smell WindClan. Their scent carries over the thunderpath." She was sure though, with how many medicine cats and leaders had visited the Moonstone, it did probably have its own distinct smell. How was it beautiful? Hm. "It is a large, white stone. But it glistens so wonderfully in the light, like... Like the sun shines down in the rippling water."
What is StarClan? Her blue eye blinked at Oakpaw for a moment, thinking. "StarClan is where our ancestors live, and where cats go when they die. A leader receives their nine lives from StarClan, and they send us medicine cats, and even leaders, visions of things to come sometimes."
-
She regarded Iris with a soft purr, nodding. "Yes, thank you." When Ratkit offered his services, she smiled and crouched down. "You're still too young to leave camp just yet, you know. Snakestar would get me in a lot of trouble, and so would your mother." The medicine cat carefully looked to Smokepaw next. Such a meek apprentice. She could understand, though. A kind smile dashed across her muzzle. "No, three would be just enough. Thank you, Smokepaw."

Embertail woke up in ShadowClans camp. No, wait. That wasn't quite right. It was ShadowClan, but it was leaf-green. The tufts of swamp grass stood tall, proud, and plentiful. Frogs could be heard croaking in the distance. The peat beneath her paws was pleasantly cool, not freezing. The medicine cat frowned and got to her paws, ears flicking as they listened to the sweet sounds of leaf-green. Her peace did not last long, however. Despite the air being perfectly warm and clear, the calico came to the realization that she could hardly breathe. Her blue eye became wide in shock, taking in desperate, wheezing breaths, attempting to stay awake. As if things could not get any worse, Embertail caught the smell of something acrid. Smoke. A fire. Her fur bristled, the she-cat attempting to stand and run away, as far as possible, but she could hardly move, much less breathe. She was helpless to watch as the smoke crept closer and closer to her, overwhelming her. Embertail took a breath, and to her shock, she could breathe. She could breathe this smoke like she would air. It cleared her lungs and mind and set her body at ease, and her blue eye slid closed once again, peaceful.
Her tail was bristling when the medicine cat shot up, awake. A sign! StarClan had sent her a sign! She dashed from the medicine den, nearly running into the thorns. "Snakestar! I need to see Smokepaw!"
-
"StarClan sent me a dream." She mewed hurriedly. Her ears did turn hot as she realized she had just roused the tom from his nap, but that was her first dream! "I believe they want me to take him on as my apprentice. I was wondering... May I make an announcement?" Embertail smiled, her heart still pounding lightly, and gestured down the high rock to the camp below.

Putting away a wilted batch of herbs, Embertail perked up when she heard the cry. The calico was there in an instant, stopping short before the queen. The tired medicine cat offered a small smile of encouragement, placing a paw gently over Snowflowers' stomach and, indeed, feeling the beginnings of contractions. "They're coming alright." She mewed to her, nodding. "Do you think you can lean on me and get into my den?" It would be much easier to do this in there, where her supplies would be right beside her, and she could be right next to the soon-to-be mother.
-
She stepped to the edge of the high rock. Kittypet or no, StarClan had made their choice quite obvious. "ShadowClan!" Embertail called. "Our ancestors sent me a dream. Smokepaw." Her eye searched for the young tom. "I believe you are not meant to walk the path of a warrior, but a medicine cat."
-
She offered the tom a small smile of encouragement. She was relieved in a way. It would take some time to learn everything to be sure, but Smokepaw would be a great help.
"You will make a great medicine cat, I'm sure of it." Embertail said, as she made her way down the high rock. "I won't lie, it can be very overwhelming at first. But don't rush things. In time, you'll know every herb by scent alone."
-
As Embertail left her den, stretching her limbs, she headed over to the fresh-kill pile and overheard the conversation going on. She felt a small swell of sadness. Ratkit was such a joy. He was unceasingly cheerful and made her tired days a little brighter. It was truly a pity his mother would enforce such a rule... Though it wasn't uncommon among her ShadowClan brethren. Which is why it made her all the more impressed that the apprentices and warriors who had begun speaking with Ratkit instead offered him support. The one-eyed medicine cat smiled lightly and turned, forgetting about breakfast for a moment. "They're right. Your clanmates are your clanmates. A kittypet who chooses to leave their former life and become a warrior? That takes true strength."
