More than tolerable, perhaps; a friend, if there ever was one. Maybe more? But maybe not. He couldn't forget the fateful day when her former -- uh, mate? -- appeared. The female had been robust and masculine, scarcely feminine and somewhat similar to him in appearance but more rounded in personality, whereas Sootstorm was all sharp edges and planes. Sootstorm felt his hackles lower, and calm slipped over him yet again. Something that he hadn't truly gotten to appreciate or feel in the two moons since his daughter kitted, especially when he had pushed himself so hard to stay out of camp at all times; he could barely stand the idea of breathing the same air as his daughter and her mate, Stonejaw, or their kits. It was too hard, and he knew it was stubborn and mindless, but he couldn't help it. He was just so angry.
The skinny tom, his large, long clumps of fur hanging off of him pitifully, would feel the faint beginnings of a smile slide onto his angular, shadowed face. "It seems I have." he dryly remarked, his intentions good even as he dropped the prey in front of the female, meaning to move out and get more comfortable nearby before she addressed him further. He listened with an interested, lifeless twitch of his translucent whiskers. "If you're so cold, why deny my company when I'm merely just a bag of bones and fur? Fur that you could use, no doubt; so yes, I think I will move in here, however uncomfortable and intimate it may be for you." his voice had lost his dry tone and became more playful, especially as he moved forward, pushing his larger body inside of the awkwardly small bush, before abruptly curling himself around her. After all, with his long limbs, he couldn't fit himself anything but around her -- if he did, his legs would stick out from cover! "Besides, I think this will be mutually beneficial. I provide you with decent company and a warm coat, and you make me forget of the chaos inside of that dreadful camp."
