Whisp couldn't imagine fish big enough to eat a cat whole. Or lizards. And despite how dangerous a picture Leopard painted, Whisp couldn't help but be fascinated. Thinking that it was to bad he couldn't go to this faraway place and see these things for himself.

Eyes brilliant with barely contained excitement he meowed, "That's okay, I can find a RiverClanner later to... teach... me..."

His voice trailed off, blue orbs wide with disbelief that he'd let his words get ahead of him. Again. It was already against the rules for him to be out here, and while Leo seemed to take it well, but no one here usually took it well when cats went off getting chummy with rivals. His ears flattened against his skull, a mixture of dismay and determination on his young face. He wasn't about to go down without defending himself. Or maybe he could mow on without the older cat having noticed his slip up?

"And maybe you can teach me some cool climbing moves? Oh! And how to fight and hunt from the trees?"

He clucked his tongue at her, as if she'd gotten an answer to some test wrong, and sat up. Poking his chest with a paw as he replied, "I'm always serious when giving a pretty lady a compliant."

His pulse raced as her gaze dropped away. He'd always found shyness of any kind attractive, sending a thrill down his spine that reminded him of hunting. The tabby tom taking the opportunity to slide closer to the apprentices side. Fur brushing and mingling together.

"How have you been, Briarpaw? Staying well now that you are an apprentice, I hope."

The closer he got the more detailed she became. The shade of her eyes reminded him of icicles, so clear and blue and beautiful. But at any moment they could turn deadly, falling to spear some unfortunate cat. Her nose was the kind of bright pink that reminded him of a young rose, one whose red hadn't come in full yet. But what he adored most were her ears, their tips curled backwards in a manner he'd never seen before.

"I know it like the back of my paw," he replied smoothly, giving her a playful wink. "I'm running around SkyClan all the time."

He paused to eye her thoughtfully, his own blue gaze running up and down her figure.
"And you, lovely lady, what are you doing so far from ThunderClan's camp?"

The tabby tom almost winced but laughed instead. Sunkit was sure to be more than just a challenge and suddenly he envisioned the kind of plan that could break her. Or rather soften her to his side.

He shook his head, expression softening into thoughtfulness. "Haven't you ever heard that you shouldn't judge somecat by the color of their pelt?"

// Oh this is gonna be so much funnnnnn. :D Also, sorry for the short post. D:

Of course they did. The barn was huge, filled with stacks of hay and places to climb and hide and play. But after spending every waking hour within she could understand why her cubs were so eager for something outside of these four walls. Regardless she needed to hold firm to her decision.

    "No, Little Fawn, I-"

    "I think it's a great idea!"

Spring shot the male a stern glare but didn't protest. Waiting for Sun to explain himself. Dancing around his nieces and nephews the caracal grinned. "We haven't seen hide nor hair of those pesky rats in two days. It's possible they are laying low or gone entirely. And even if they aren't we'll be there to watch over them, it'll be fine Spring."

The queen grunted. Angry that the normally reckless male was swaying her at all. But going outside would be nice. And so she shoved herself to her paws and turned to her cubs. "Feather Step, don't taunt your siblings," she began sternly,
"I suppose we can play outside the barn doors today... But you must listen to Sun and I. What we say goes and if we tell you to get back inside that barn you'd better, do you hear?"

    // I'm back! :D

Blinking up at Tatteredstar the tabby kitten frowned. Realizing that, in his moment of determination and excitement, he'd forgotten. Thrushstar was gone and Tattered was their leader now.

Shaking off the mistake he beamed up at their new leader with the natural confidence he seemed to have in spades. "Sorry to disturb you, Tatteredstar, I was just hoping to talk to you about my apprenticeship."

One I hope isn't ruined because of my adventures, he thought to himself.

It was strange not to hear Thrushstars voice calling them all together, not to see her fine figure standing above them. Commanding respect and attention. But he wasn't fool enough to believe that leaders lasted forever, even with extra lives. The tabby kit had heard news of other clans, who changed leaders with alarming regularity.

He only hoped that SkyClan would now fall into that trend.

Scrambling down from the nursery he joined his clanmates, pleased that today he was actually here to take part in the meeting, rather then out somewhere breaking the rules. Whisperingkit supposed he needed to be on his best behavior if he was going to be made an apprentice soon.

Spotting a fellow kit Whisp moved to sit beside him, shooting him a friendly grin. "Hey."

Had he stumbled onto the scene any earlier Whisperingkit would have likely been a victim too. As it was he was late to arrive, not that he'd planned to be anyway at any specific time, the tabby kit stumbling onto the scene with a grunt. Paws twisted up in vines and a twisted branch caught up around him. Whisp looked every bit like some comical tree monster as he peered up at the older cats of his clan.

Slow to realize the heavy scent of blood in the air or the body between them.

Of course when he did he rose to all fours, shaking the mess of vines and twigs off himself. Blue eyes narrowed into slits. "What happened?"

New indeed. How had Whisperingkit missed new additions to his clan? To the nursery?

Cause you're hardly ever there, he chide himself. Even when he did return to camp in the evenings he rarely slept in the nursery with his mother. He preferred the small nest he'd crafted for himself at the base of the tree, although he'd have liked to build a nest up high in the branches. Whisp wasn't that confident in his climbing or balancing abilities.

Trotting back from the dirt-place, where he frequently slipped out the back, the tabby kit joined the gathering of clanmates. "I'm Whiskeringkit," he began cheerfully. Reaching the other tom-kit he plopped down beside him. "It's always great to have new playmates!"

Even better when said clanmates had sisters. His blue eyes trailed to where Blossomkit curled timidly in a corner nearby. He blinked in surprise and then grinned with delight. Dreams did come true!

Whisp gave Robinkit a playful wink before leaving his side to join the she-kit. His smile was friendly and warm. His blue eyes teasing. "Hey, sweet. My names Whisperingkit." He sat next to her, tail flickering over his paws as he crouched forward. Pausing only when his face was level with hers, head tilted in her direction. "And what might your name be?"

Rising sleepily from his nest at the nursery's base Whisperingkit stretched his limbs out from his torso. Jaws parting to reveal shiny, white teeth and a pale, pink tongue. Bringing himself back together again the handsome tabby kit shook out his fur, blue orbs searching the morning camp for some sort of amusement while he filled his belly. Perhaps find some other kits to break away from camp with him.

But he found no kits roaming outside the nursery at this hour. Only a pawful of warriors near their own tree. Female warriors. And there was nothing more attractive then older she-cats.

His grin was downright devilish as he approached the trio, eyes sparkling with warm mischief. "Ladies," he meowed smoothly, "so nice to see our warriors up and ready with the sun."

Whisp didn't seem to need any encouragement to continue, steamrolling forward with is words without hesitation or thought about his candid speech.

"I'm past six moons now and it's about time I was made an apprentice," he began eagerly, tone laced with determination, "and more than that I know exactly who I want to be my mentor. He's by far the best cat, well wildcat, qualified to teach me."

The blue-silver tabby jerked his head back towards Leopard. A grin stretching his lips and lightening his already sparkling eyes. He didn't let the worry that was eating at him, strange that he felt worry at all sense he didn't regret his rule-breaking at all, show in his stance or eyes. Staring up at his leader. Struggling with his next words.
"I just don't want my past... exploits to damage my chances of becoming an apprentice as soon as possible."

Sun burst into laughter at his nieces string of questions, but answered them as seriously as he could. "It's big and filled with trees and grass and rivers. But the air is clear, you can't see it. And yes, lots more than just hay."

Spring chuckled under her breath, leading the way to the broken door that led outside. She slipped outside and scanned the stretch of grass before them. To the ditch just out of sight near the treeline. Where the rats could still be lurking. Shoving aside her worry she poked her head back inside, "it's already, come on out, my loves."

Bringing up the rear Sun beamed, nosing the cubs forward gently.
"move those little legs, I'm excited for you all to see outside of this barn!"

I love long posts. So much. It's something I thrive for. They help me write more or at least more quality. Unless of course I'm just rushing cause I don't have a lot of time, which was yesterday. Lol.

I'll be on later tonight and I'll have time for longer replies. If you send me the link I'll respond if I haven't already.
