I'm currently doing a small worldmap, sort of showing all the places that could potentially be in the game. It'll be a while before I can do individual maps for each area!((I'd totally do the White Crystal map tho))

This map is gonna highlight important areas, too, though. Such as populated areas where shops and inns can be found, and structures that can be explored and looted.

"I've been here as long as everyone else has," Vex answered, his voice sounding just as impressed as he looked, "I just didn't want to join in. I've got reasons, trust me." He looked up at Acon and Itum after saying this, giving the hint that other spirits like them were a part in the reason.

Vex simply leaned against the pillar he stood by. He kept his nose low, something quite unlike Vex. "What, do you have something to offer me?" He looked at Rebel accusingly, "Trust me, I'd be asking you personally if I wasn't surrounded by some bigger bads. They'd want whatever I've got."

"He's always been oddly nice to first visitors," the Queen chuckled a little bit, though it seemed half-hearted. "So I suppose you won't have to worry about an incident like that happening again, will you?" She put many of her hands together, looking expectant for the right answer.

"Well, at least you've got something," Vex claimed, "And why should I be worried? Being beyond dead and thinking is far better than being here. You wouldn't believe what it's like..."

For a second, the Queen's hopeful gaze suddenly shattered, but she contained herself as quickly as possible. "You... Want to go back? Is there something to study? Do they interest you?"

"I'm just worried about you," The Queen admitted, "You're going into the territory of something that nearly killed you. I will allow you to go, but..." She trailed off, "I am not going to interfere with matters between you and the Infected Colony, good or bad."

At the thought of his only chance being taken away, Vex almost reflexively slithered up close and grabbed Rebel's arm, putting both of his hands around Rebel's wrist. Putting himself in this vulnerable state was, again, very unlike Vex. He truly did want something, and he was desperate for it.
"Please, you have to understand," Vex nearly pleaded, "This place is torture. It doesn't matter whether you belong here or not, it's impossible to stand all of the more horrible things lurking here..." Vex looked around and behind him to be sure no one else is around, "And you have to learn quick that there is always someone vastly scarier and more dangerous than you..."

The Queen's face almost lit right back up as she saw this drawing once again, and she gently took it in her hands. "Thank you, for bringing this back to me," She told Kono. "I was planning on keeping it."

((Headcanon: The Queen is the mom that puts drawings on the fridge))

Some of them are direct references- Serpentine Forest has a lot of snake enemies in it. Malachite Marsh is considered a toxic Wetland, like the mineral. Quartz Islands is composed of all sand, a substance made mostly of quartz minerals. And then Pyrope Hotlands is literally just a bunch of references to a stage in another game called Hotland.

Also, Tegu Town is named after a type of lizard. Bang bang.

I'm not sure if you'd want to make the openworld of this game so large, I just mostly wanted it to be relatively explorable, much like other RPG games (Like Pokemon)

"I would do anything to get out." Vex began to plead, keeping his nose low as he came so close to Rebel's face. "I'd rather be serving any of you goody-two-shoes for the rest of my life than be stuck here. You could strip everything from me."
It was now apparent that the spirit was more desperate than he'd ever been, giving everything he was away for the mere promise of a second life.
