THE FOUNDATION
[center]
Introduction
The Foundation is a Clan that is not pro, anti or neutral, that is determined to bring justice to those that would seek to disrupt the peace and hurt others. After apprehending a suspect, they will put them through a trial, compiling all of the information for and against them. In the end, the creature will be classified as Safe, Euclid, or Keter. In extreme cases in the field, a designation may be chosen. Another vital focus of the Foundation is community - they strive to strengthen communities both in-Clan, with allies, and throughout the world. Lastly, the Foundation currently serves as host to the Resistance and Brotherhood.
Credit for the information used in this guide goes to Honkfriend, Pegachu and Pyre.
History
The Foundation was formed by Gabriel {Honkfriend/Snow Mercury}, with the help of SirenClan, in September of 2016. They took over a Clan previously known as the Deserted Kingdom and made a great deal of changes, from renaming the ranks (Class A was leader, Class B was deputy, Class C was an HP position, Class D was the bulk of the Clan, Class E were the traitors) and declaring a few people suspects (Darth Vader {Owlie}, Bill Cipher {Maple} and Barron {Sock}). The Exiles and WindClan were declared enemies and SirenClan/SeaglassClan became allies.
A festival is held for potential allies, games are played and people have a good time. Not long after, Gabriel invites EnderClan to stay with them while the EnderClanners look for a new territory, as their old one was flooded. Whatever peace the Foundation had with WindClan is destroyed when Darth Vader kills two of Gabriel's holomoths. Gabriel takes this as a declaration of war and promotes Judith {Pegachu} to Class B in the next meeting.
Gabriel and Poe {Baratheon} arrange an alliance, one that allows his group, the Resistance, to take up residence on The Foundation's land so long as they can help around camp and aid with building.
Eventually, Gabriel died, passing leadership on to Judith (this being in the beginning of October). Their spirit remained, manifesting in a statue that soon had a guard and defenses placed around it. The first thing Judith did as leader was change the name of the ranks, Class A becoming Queen, Class B becoming Prince/ss, Class C becoming Duke/Duchess, adding a new s/HP rank called Baron/et and a new Doctor rank, Class D becoming Citizens. She also sent out some alliance requests, but they yielded nothing. Horizon began spying in the Exiles after WindClan turned him away.
Not long later, the Resistance arrives and sets up camp. A bit more than a week after that, the First Order launched a huge and successful attack on the Foundation and the Resistance, led by none other than Darth Vader. Several members of the Foundation were captured, several members of the Resistance were injured and the territory was burned.
Judith called a meeting at the beginning of November and passed leadership on to Phantom, who promised to do their best for the Clan and promoted Horizon to Prince.
In Phantom's first meeting, they changed the ranks to Chief (formerly King/Queen), Deputy (formerly Prince/ss), Lieutenant (formerly Duke/Duchess), Surgeon (formerly Doctor), Sergeant (formerly Baron/et) and Nurse (formerly nonexistent). They also held a boot camp that week to draw more attention to the Clan.
An alliance with StormClan was made, and Phantom broadened the Clan's theme to include community as well as justice, believing that the two were tied. He also returned the Foundation's political stance to other/independent rather than neutral, as the idea had been well received by his Clanmates. Soon alliances with SeaglassClan, the Arcane and the Sanctuary were formed.
As the Foundation had hosted other small groups in the past, Phantom agreed to let the Brotherhood, a small nomadic Clan, stay for an undefined amount of time. Not technically a merge, and the Foundation still held the power to kick their guests out should it become necessary. This was followed by an influx of joiners. In the next meeting Phantom announced the titles, though they weren't so much titles as medals. They were the Medals of Honor, Valor, Hazardous Duty, Outstanding Duty and Special Merit. A bit later he also introduced Divisions: Combat, Community and Information, each handling anything pertinent to the somewhat broad names of the Divisions.
Gabriel {Honkfriend/Snow Mercury} takes over the Deserted Kingdom with the help of SirenClan on 9/10/16. They rename the Clan the Foundation, the ranks to Class A, Class B, Class C, Class E, Class D and Class E (leader, deputy, officers, citizens and traitors, respectively). They also declare Bill Cipher, Darth Vader and Barron as Suspects, promoting Judith {Pegachu} to Class C and Shae {Imagination} to temporary Doctor. WindClan and the Exiles are declared enemies, and SirenClan/SeaglassClan are allies. Rules are set in place and a title/classification system is also established. [link]
A festival is held for potential allies on 9/11/16 by Gabriel, and things go rather well. [link] On 9/12/16 Gabriel invites EnderClan to temporarily stay with them while they look for a new territory. [link] The precarious peace between the Foundation and WindClan is ruined when Darth Vader kills two of Gabriel's holomoths roughly on 9/12/16. [link]
In the second meeting of the Foundation on 9/15/16, Gabriel promotes Judith to Class B, Horizon {Maple} and Christmassnowfall {Pioneer} to Class C. Politics are discussed as well, mainly surrounding WindClan. [link]
Gabriel and Poe, {Baratheon} the leader of a group called the Resistance bent on taking down the First Order, discuss an alliance and sharing the Foundation's territory, as their goals align and it would be beneficial to both groups to work together. The negotiating process takes quite a while real-time. [link] Soon enough the Resistance moves in.
On 10/3/16, Gabriel died. All that was left of them was a statue in the forest, with a note apologizing, promoting Judith and asking that the statue be taken care of. Judith stepped up, and a guard and defenses are arranged to be put around the statue. As time went on it became clear that Gabriel's spirit still lingered, and sometimes Gabe themselves would appear to provide commentary or give the members something to do. [link]
On 10/4/16, Judith held her first meeting. She changed the ranks to be Queen, Prince/ss, Duke/Duchess, Doctor, Baron/et and Civilians (leader, deputy, HP, HP, s/HP and members, respectively). She put Christmassnowfall on probation, promoted Phantom {Pyre} to Duke and shouted out Horizon. She also sent out alliance requests to SunClan, BloodClan and ScarClan, though nothing came of any of those. [link] Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Horizon was organizing an espionage system, starting it by placing himself in the Exiles after an unsuccessful attempt to infiltrate WindClan. [link & link]
On 10/8/16, the Resistance arrived, bringing with them a great many members. [link] On 10/17/16 the First Order launched a huge attack on the Foundation, leading to the capture of Judith, Shae and Chisk {Darky}. Many people were injured, and many of the holomoths were killed. The territory was burned and it was overall a huge loss. link]
Between the Resistance's arrival and the First Order's raid, on 10/12/16, Judith hosted a meeting where she promoted Chisk to Baronet and demoted Christmassnowfall. Aside from that little of note happened. [link] On 11/3/16, Judith called a meeting and on 11/6/16 she passed leadership on to Phantom. They stepped up, promising to do their best for the Clan and make some changes to bring the Foundation closer to allies an in general increase activity. They also promoted Horizon to Prince, and by that time both Shae and Chisk had stepped down and left. [link]
There was a boot camp held on 11/12/16, with all allies and neutrals invited [link]. In Phantom's first meeting on 11/13/16, they changed the ranks to Chief, Deputy, Lieutenant, Surgeon, Sergeant and Nurse (King/Queen, Prince/ss, Duke/Duchess, Doctor, Baron/et, nonexistent, respectively) and discussed some of the possible upcoming changes. [link]
On 11/18/16 Blazeheart {Timur} visited, seeking to form an alliance between StormClan and the Foundation. [link] After a bit of discussion Phantom agreed, and they arranged to have a meet and greet with their Clans. Later on, in the meeting that they held on 11/21/16, Phantom spoke about expanding the Clan's theme so that justice was not the sole theme, proposing that they focus on both that and community. The Foundation's political stance was also changed from neutral back to independent, like Gabriel initially intended. [link]
A feast was hosted for their allies, though they were still few in number, on 11/27/16. [link] In the meeting on 11/28/16, Abner was promoted to Sergeant, though little else of note happened in that meeting. [link] On 12/7/16 Horizon arranged an alliance with SeaglassClan, who accepted. [link] Aside from announcing that SeaglassClan had accepted the alliance request, the only thing that happened of note in the 12/12/16 meeting was Abner's demotion. [link]
On 12/18/16 Phantom agreed to let the Brotherhood, a small nomadic group, share the Foundation's territory for a while. A merge was thrown in the air, but no one was sure about having one just yet. They'd also arranged alliances with the Arcane and Sanctuary round about that time. [link] and [link], respectively. There was also a sudden influx of joiners, leading to the promotions of Sleeplesscity {Darky} and Sebastian {Centurese} to Sergeant in the 12/26/16 meeting. [link] In that same meeting he also unveiled the new title/medal system, introducing the Medals of Honor, Valor, Hazardous Duty, Outstanding Duty and Special Merit.
In the 1/1/17 meeting, Phantom brought up a possible merge with the Tribe of Burning Eclipse to see if people would be open to that. They also implemented Divisions: Combat, Community and Information, which would deal in anything related to the names of the Divisions. They gave a warning to Sebastion and Sleeplesscity, while promoting Immy {Happeh} to Sergeant and Claudia {Wishy} to Nurse. [link]
Territory
The Foundation has made their home in a large valley, secluded from the rest of the world by an extensive mountain range and the outlying lands that are difficult to traverse with foes and natural obstacles. The territory as a whole is a mix of forest and plains, with the forested areas beginning around the foot of the mountains and extending upwards until the cliff faces become to rocky and sheer for plant growth, with a few more clusters of trees spread throughout the flattening valley basin.
The center of the valley is more so a plains area, dominated by shrubs and grasses of varying heights. It is here where the group finds most of its prey and does most of its hunting.
Through the very lowest point of the valley runs a large river, pooling at one end in a large, clear lake, and narrowing at the other in deadly rapids battering their way through the mountains.
The mountains surrounding the territory are large, almost appearing to touch the heavens that the Foundation so revere, tall enough that the tops are permanently capped in heavy banks of snow, the heights too cold to allow them to melt. Any paths up these mountains are dangerous, it is far too easy to find yourself tumbling over a sheer edge or find yourself lost - many have been lost to these mountains, and in the harder months members of the Foundation take to scavenging the carcasses of prey who made the mistake of attempting to take the paths. During the living legend event, a stone wolf emerged from mountains to push back the people before resting once more in the ranges.
It is at the thinning edges of the forest that decorates the base of the mountains that the scouts gather in the morning, playing and refreshing their lessons for the day of training ahead. It is also a prime place for hunting parties to search for the herds, not only giving them cover and keeping them out of sight but is also used as a location to escape the heat of the sun through the summer midday by said prey. When hunting at night, it is used as a rallying point, gathering those going joining the hunt together and taking part in the team building needed before larger hunts.
There are many legends within the Foundation to explain the existence of this particular spread of forest, one being of a great battle taking place in this location where many lost their lives, though none know the true answer. Where the largest mountain in the range beings its slope towards the sky, an odd circle of forest stands barren and bare. Nothing has grown here for generations, the ground beneath paw that of firm, dry soil, not a hint of plant life found no matter how deep one may try to dig to find traces of living roots. The trees that remain standing have never gained leaves, no matter how many springs pass, long since dead and many only kept standing by the tightly packed soil. Barely a breeze seems to pass through these trees, and the location is long since thought to be haunted by the souls of the lost.
A long abandoned hunting shack, the humans driven from the Foundation's lands like so many other potential threats. It sits almost in the very center of the valley, looking pleasant and cozy during the day, used as a location for short rests in long journeys from one end of the valley to the other. at night, though, the members of the Foundation automatically avoid the location, driven away by some deep sense of distress and dread that settles in the heart of any who go too close. perhaps the source of these unsettling feelings can be found in the radio - known to the pack as the screaming box - that seems to have a mind and power source of its own once father sun retreats beneath the mountains. at mother moon's highest point through the night, the screaming box switches on and begins to pick up signals - sometimes voices, sometimes nothing but static, both made eerie and uneasy by busted speakers.
Yet since the most recent earthquake during mother moon's bout of rage, the shack has all but caved in, though some can still squeeze in and under the debris, the screaming box still sounds, casting fear upon those close enough to the shack to flee.
Previously an expansive system of caves and caverns before the earthquake, set into the base of the largest mountain surrounding their home. Through natural processes or ancestral interference, its walls and empty spaces are dotted, sprinkled, or filled to the absolute brim with crystals and gemstones, creating wondrous displays of color and light - where the sun reaches in far enough.
This beautiful location was once a safe haven for the group, the labyrinth of tunnels and jumble of crystals providing a means of confusing enemies or blocking them out completely.
Now, though, the cave has been abandoned. The once secure walls and ceilings rumble and rattle with loose rocks and gems, threatening doom upon anyone who dare to enter. when the earth beneath their paws rumbled and shook, many stayed behind to ensure the others got out. the caverns and crystals came down around their heads, sealing their fates.
Ever since, the caves have gone from camp to a location of bad omens and mourning, the constant stench of death seeping out from the entrances a constant reminder of what awaits those who dare enter once again.
From the caves stem a large fissure which extends towards the burn. Four kilometers in length and about 4 feet deep, it has become another reminder of mother moon's wrath.
The sun never seems to truly touch this part of the valley. Set between the lake's edge and the nearest mountain, the meadows here are constantly shrouded in a heavy fog, unrelenting moisture hanging thick in the air and clinging to whatever it can gain a hold of. Small prey is abundant here, safely hidden in the grasses and the mist, but those of the Foundation who linger too long report a consistent sense that they were being watched - by something far more threatening than the small prey they seek.
Centered within the Shroudedmeadow is a cluster of pines, a few ancient individuals, with an old swing tied to a couple sturdy branches, the ropes and wooden seat steadily rotting in the lingering damp.
The fog that, at times, engulfs the valley in the early hours of the morning seem to spread from here.
Looping around the burn is another odd cluster of forest. Here, the trees have grown curved and twisted, as though trying to follow father sun as they pushed themselves free of the soil. Again, there are many stories attempting to explain this, though many believe it is linked to whatever killed the forest that had once been in the place of the now dead trees. Whatever killed them twisted the trees that remained lingering on the outskirts, and any future trees coming from their seeds.
Ss the name suggests, the stones here seem to form a forest all their own. Higher up the mountain, where true trees can no longer grow, it is through these stones that the pack must travel to reach the celestial plateau, and through which the winds that rush around the mountains seem to follow, whistling through the gaps and creating howls all their own.
At the highest point the Foundation are able to reach up the mountain range, a section levels our into a plateau, opening up into hardy grass and shrubs, an open space at the point where they can be closest to mother moon. It is here the group travels for the sing to mother moon ceremony each new moon.
Mirror lake is large and clear, at one angle reflecting back the image of the sky and horizon, and at the other allowing one to see deep into its depths. it is a beautiful spot, abundant with aquatic life of all sorts, and the one water source that only thinly freezes over through the colder winter months, ensuring the Foundation have year round access to fresh drinking water.
At the opposite end of the valley to mirror lake, the water is anything but calm and clear. As river beds and river bands becoming increasingly rocky and water rushes down the mountain's slopes, it turns to rapids. Where the river works its way out of the valley, the water moves at its fastest - too fast to enter, a death sentence to any who are foolish enough to do so. It slows as the ground begins to even out, but there are still spots where the rocks are too large and water moves too fast for it to be safe.
Set just within the largest concentration of forest within the territory, where the trees temporarily thin out in a clearing that backs onto an outcropping of rock. The area is naturally camouflaged, lined with threes, rocks and shrubs dotted throughout, looking very much like any other clearing you'd find within the forest, the only thing particularly noteworthy being the presence of the large, ancient tree within the center, whose root system seems to have been increasingly exposed by the elements over its lifetime. The only sign of the Foundation, should they not be in the camp itself, is their lingering scent. They do not waste their time building dens and structures as the clans do.

Keter these individuals are the worst of the worst, and are considered kill on sight. the only way for this ranking to be revoked is through extremely special circumstances
Euclid these individuals are considered at large. they have committed many... relatively minor crimes, or one severe one.
Safe these individuals are considered safe to be around. if they commit any crimes, it is not severe enough to warrant suspicion from the foundation.
Neutralized formerly keter or euclid class, but circumstances have altered them to the point of them being safe to be around.
Thaumiel these individuals are considered saints, practically. they have done much for animal kind. awarded to individuals that kill keter classed individuals permanently or neutralize them.
Divisions
The Foundation has three Divisions (which are similar to branches): Information, Combat and Community, all focusing on a broad array of subjects and tasks that are crucial to the Clan. Any member is free to join any one or multiple of the Divisions based on their skills, personality and calling, and are in fact encouraged to. Even kits or apprentices may join, though their role may only be to begin learning from more experienced members of the Division, and their training will be overseen (but not necessarily conducted by) the Head, who is in charge of running the Division. The Head is usually either the highest ranked member or the most experienced, and can be demoted by the Chief of the Foundation much like any other rank.
INFORMATION DIVISION
Espionage | Infiltration | Tracking | Missing Persons
Those in the Information Division are often the most intelligent and secretive of the Officers, skilled in more subtle things that play into gathering information on suspects and maintaining watch over potentially suspicious individuals or Clans. They are trained to never reveal Foundation secrets and are dedicated to finding suspects that have disappeared off of the Foundation's radar. They may also be called in to monitor rehabilitated convicts that have a high chance of returning to their old ways.
Division Head: Horizon
Phantom
COMBAT DIVISION
Offense | Defense | Raids | Rescue
With the information collected by the Information Division, the Combat Division works to protect not only protect and defend the Foundation, but to arrest suspects and rescue captured members and missing persons reported by visitors. They are usually the strongest and are good at thinking on their feet, and will serve the Clan's cause and defend it to the best of their abilities.
Division Head: Phantom
n/a
COMMUNITY DIVISION
Foreign Relations | In-Clan Relations | Events | Welcoming Committee
Members of the Community Division are often the most friendly and/or politically savvy of the Officers. It's their job to host events, welcome new members and visitors and in general do their best to improve the atmosphere of not only the Foundation and their allies but, if they can, the world. They work independently as often as they work with the other Divisions, and likewise members should be good on their own and in a team.
Division Head: TBA

Traditions
Trials once a suspect is apprehended, all information for and against them is compiled and a trial is held. In the end the suspect will be classified as Safe, Euclid or Keter. It will be assessed whether they can be rehabilitated or if it is necessary to terminate them.
Boot camps every now and then the Foundation hosts a boot camp to keep it's members in shape. Sometimes allies and prospective allies are invited and other times it is only open to members and visitors.

"Can I join the Foundation?"
Of course! the Foundation has an auto-acceptance policy, meaning that anyone may join, and anyone may accept new members. simply make a joining thread, or jump right in, as if your character has been here the whole time!
"Can I play a high position? If not, how can I achieve one?"
Unless your character has been promoted to one, no. However, everyone has the opportunity to earn a high position, so long as your character is active, contributes, and interacts willingly with members old and new alike!
