at the sound of her shaky voice, a small deer appeared before her from behind a tree, startling her a little bit. a deer wasn't something that she was familiar with. she most certainly don't think she ever had seen one before in any lifetime. pulling back, she tried to put together a nervous smile, just realizing, she really didn't have anything planned. of course not. she was here in a foreign place she couldn't remember arriving at, with strangers here probably wondering how she ended up here. how was she going to explain herself? truth? seems hard to believe for her situation.
"h-hi uh, ulla?" her ears perked at the mention of shadow veil. shadow veil. the name seems familiar to her. she might had heard of it. if she really thought about it, she must had lived in a group right? if this area, this territory, was owned by the clan of shadows, surely, she must had come from a group of light? but what group was that? a frown furrowed on her face as she thought of this, trying to make sense of her situation, unaware that her face was open to public. maybe she should just ... but wait ulla wasn't asking where she came from, right? what did she say? name and .... something? maybe she didn't have explain herself.
and suddenly a hellish beast stood besides the deer, a total opposite of ulla, almost exactly what she could imagine of shadow veil. the tall creature's silent. although his intention is not to frighten her off, his silence is almost worst, she thought. his form's distracting her, her thoughts are all jumbled up now.
"uh, sorry i forgot w-what you were asking," she managed to make out, directing the statement kind of into the open. oh right, her name, of course. she should at least mention that. "i. . . i think my name is chionodoxa. but chi's fine too." the feline attempted to dip her head in greetings towards the two shadow veilers. "s-sorry, i don't know how i ended up here. i don't really remember what happened," she added in an afterthought.

ulla's face contorted into a frown and look of concern upon hearing the words spoken out of chi's mouth. rattling a list of names of individuals whom chi assumed were probably some sort of healing specialists, the small feline bowed her head out of embarrassment and shame. "i t-think i'm okay though," she responded to the doe's concerns. she wasn't hurt, not that she thought so. she felt fine and seems fine. just that she couldn't just remember. but she was pretty sure she didn't her head against something (or did she?) and just lost her memories. no, she was a little bit confident that she was okay.
"b-but umm, i guess it's probably a good idea for me to stay a little bit until i figure out what's going on," she added, to try to ease the female's worries. she didn't have a choice did she? where else could she go if she chose not to stay in shadow veil? who knew if there were groups not as friendly as this one? "it would be nice to rest."

not the one for such extravagance, a large room decorated in glory of gold and shine, seemingly expensive ribbons draping above their heads high up with the super high ceiling, long tables filled to the edge with delicious food you could imagine and jugs of drinks, the long staircases from the top of the entrance leading down to the main ballroom. the crowd is not that thick, but it is getting there. laughter rang in the air, everyone was chattering, dancing, eating, drinking, enjoying themselves at this wonderful party. it was everything that chi didn't mind, yet, hated.
where that conflicted feeling came from, she wasn't sure. it felt like she might had been in a sea of faces before, but when, she didn't know. she couldn't really remember much of anything that happened before, what happened then while the present was spiraling around her. but all she knew for sure was that, as much as she didn't mind being in the crowd, hiding in the ocean from hawk eyes, she disliked the feeling of being squeezed in. maybe it was something like claustrophobia, the feeling that she was losing oxygen in a cramped room.
glancing around nervously, hands covered in a soft pastel blue-white gloves gripping each other, she searched in hope of a familiar face to escape from the strangers. unlike many other attendees, she did not spend much on her dress. it was quite plain, almost like any dress you could probably just wear out on a nice day. the dress matched her gloves, light blueish white. no golden vines and flowers like ulla's beautiful green dress. speaking of the which, her roaming eyes spotted the somewhat familiar face right at the bottom of the stairs, caught in between the movement of people.
"o-oh, ulla!" chi called out to the woman, moving with no ease, bumping into strangers and offering quick apologies towards them as she made her way towards the decorated green and gold princess. "thank goodness you're here!" she exclaimed as she finally arrived to greet ulla. "i-i thought i was going to be all alone here! did you just get here? i t-think i need some space to breathe, i don't know how anyone like going to these kind of events."

It feels odd to be on a familiar terrain, yet so foreign. Her home, the open grassy land of Wind Haven with its towering Mt. Kodiak in the background scenery, seems like from another timeline, another world. She remembers so vividly of her life here, a little child running around with her amused and guarding parents. Soft Duskstar, living his retired life in their cottage, and the kind Jericho, tending to their beautiful garden. Her siblings, roaming around in the sunlit house. Chi herself, living the life beyond the indoors. But that happy life turns upside down so fast - life's flashing before her eyes. The blood of Olivia, staining her paws red. Ghiaccio's barely breathing from his torture in Exiles, reaching faintly to her. The vision of Breakdance over her head, demanding names, names. The cries of her own, mixed with the voice of her past. Falling, falling, falling down the cliff, she's about to hit the ground, she's going to die, die die—
Chi blinks. And she's here. Back to where it all started. Almost. She had actually waken up in Shadow Veil's territory, unable to recall how she had gotten there. She was so sure she had died, but maybe, that was an imagination? Did she dream her whole life? She isn't sure anymore, she needs answers. She needs Jericho, she needs her dad right now. But he's gone. He's gone, gone, gone. He's not coming back. Her stomach churns, it hurts. It hurts to think of everything. So she's trying to forget, forget what happened. There's no familiar faces in this familiarity. It's better to move on and pretend it never happened. Right? The child's hesitant. She doesn't really want to return here. But where can she go? Nowhere to go in this world, nowhere to call a place that's truly home for her. She's quiet, mulling over this thought. Standing on the border of Wind Haven, unaware that she's about to be approached by someone.

"Are you okay?!" Chi's voice floats towards the stranger, a sound of panic. She had been gathering some herbs on her own, almost out of habit. Having a father who was a healer of the clan really helped her to learn the ways of medicine and treatments. Running errands for him, tending to the garden, and other various duties of nature have all been her pastimes while other kids had been playing games and training to become warriors. It never really bothers her that she was set on a different path from others. She was never a fighter, never a warrior, and deep down in her heart, she knows, she couldn't imagine fighting with every fiber of her being as much as anyone else could. Did she want to be a medic? To be honest, she isn't sure. She's afraid of following the steps of her father, even though he is a very talented healer. Maybe it's the pressure of having to be good enough, when both of your parents were leaders.
The young feline quickly darts to the side of Phantom, dropping the basket of herbs. There's a blindfold over his eyes and a cloak that covers their face, making it even hard to tell what exactly is underneath the cover. However, she could definitely see their body had been scarred and worn down from pain. The wounds on them seems to be there for a bit and have not been treated, which Chi knows it may bring about infections. They're barely holding it together, their legs might had given out from exhaustion. The Wind Havener looks around, trying to think if there is an official healer in this clan. She's newer, however, and haven't gotten to really meet anyone. She looks back at Phantom. Looks like there's no choice but to help them as much as she could.
"Can you hear me?" she asks of the injured stranger. Chi's looking over her basket, trying to see what she could do. She had only collected poppy seeds and marigolds so far and hadn't gotten the chance to gather anymore. She doesn't think these would help at this moment. The best she would have to do is bring them back to camp. A quick glance of their body. She's small, she don't think she can carry him. She turns back over her shoulder, just noticing a npc nearby. "Please, please grab someone," the child tells them and as they runs off she turns her focus back to Phantom.
"I'm sorry I don't really have anything proper to treat you," she apologizes, feeling a bit of anger at herself for not being able to do something. "We're going to try to get you back to camp and treat you, okay?"

Answer a question correctly, win a prize, the sign says. It's clearly written and seen in the middle of the village of Wind Haven. Curious, Chionodoxa lets her eyes roam to Juba. He's sitting next to the sign and with a barrel besides him. Her eyes fall to the ground, noticing woods peaking out from underneath the cloth thrown over the table. It's not exactly a well-put together table, but she couldn't complain, right? Glancing between the sign and Juba, she makes her way over, deciding to satisfy her curiosity. "What kind of questions are you asking?"

Chi had never seen snow before. She had only lived long enough to see summer and that was it. Not even autumn. And of course, she had come back just when it became spring and the sign of snow disappears into the ground and air. In a way, she's fortunate she didn't have to worry about the cold season. But the destruction winter can cause is not very kind, evident by the damages of some houses. Very luckily, her cottage, or rather, her family's cottage - home to Duskstar, Jericho, her, and the family - was left untouched. She's really grateful for that. But for other members, maybe not. She comes to a halt besides Eventides, examining the same structure he is taking notes on. "My house's lucky, I suppose," she answers him. "I haven't gotten to check the other cottages though." She lets her eyes roam to take in her surroundings and the town. She wonders if the infirmary area is okay. It's an important place.

chi's look is in the avatar to the left and here's a description from her bio!
- solid lilac domestic feline l shorthaired
- copper eyes l rounded face l semi small sized body
- appearance: a lilac tortoiseshell domestic feline, doxa is a shorthaired breed with copper eye colour. despite the short length of her fur, she does not feel cold as easily as other shorthaired felines do. although not close to pure white of snow, her off colours of lilac and copper still resembles so. eyes are big and wide, a clear appearance trait of hers along with her seeming perfect rounded head. all aside the outside looks, she has a lean frame and has strength rivaling of males her age. she presents the beauty of one that may makes others jealous.

A glance over her shoulder at the pawsteps and she spies the leader Loey. The npc had done good to reach the leader first, although, an actual healer coming first would had been a bit nicer. Nodding at the request of his, she would quickly do as she's told. Using the cape, she would attempt to tie Phantom to Loey as bes as she could. As she do so, she hears someone speaking and assumes it's Juba. It seems her guess is correct - they would not be able to treat this stranger without he much needed herbs back in infirmary. "I got him onto you n-now," she tells Loey and Juba, nodding in confirmation that she had done her part. Chi casts a glance to the passed out cloaked figure. Poor him, she hopes he's okay.

The first to greet her is the leader himself, although she's unaware that he is the new leader of this place. Who had been the leader then, when she had died? Or did she actually die? She couldn't remember, she don't think it was her dad. He was probably just a little after her - or to be honest, she couldn't even know for certain if that fact was true or not. Time had passed too much for her to know. As she listens to his words, she realizes she still smell faintly of Shadow Veil. She had forgotten about it, lost in her own thoughts of coming back, to return home to Wind Haven. She hadn't really actually joined the clan, to say the truth, but rather, had been treated. She didn't remember how she ended up on Shadow Veil's territory, only that she thought she had died, but only to awaken and see that she was in their forest. Concerned for her health, they treated after her, but found no concussion or anything of sort. She wonders if right now, she's living in a fairytale dream, making up everything happening right now.
Just as she thinks this, someone comes barreling at her, screaming her name. A startled look on her face, she lets out a shocked meow as the rabbit slid to a halt. Windwaker. She remembers him, she remembers the rabbit and the company he kept with her along with Ghiaccio during the last moons before then. "W-Windwaker!" Tears bust from her eyes as she spies the familiarity and rushes in to attempt to hug him. She misses him, but most importantly, she misses everyone. She misses being able to forget about death looming over them, the peaceful time they had. She just wants to forget all the bad things and pretend everything is okay. That's all she wanted. She sobs into the soft fur of his, unable to hold back the emotions she had been trying to hold in. "I-I'm so sorry!"

Oh? A medicine challenge? She's not a current expert by any means, but she supposes with the little knowledge she has thanks to her dad, she supposes she could manage to get by. She's quiet as she watches the others come gather along and take a shot at answering the first question. It's a basic question and pretty important as poppy seeds are commonly used. She doesn't see how anyone could get that wrong, but she wouldn't know - not everyone knows medicine obviously. As Juba moves onto the second question, she reads the question. It seems a no-brainer too. "Honey," she answers, raising a paw to point at the last option. Surely, he must have a bit more challenging question?

chi demands friendship even after the landslide >:u

She's been prized with a small book of flowers inside a bag. She wonders if he knows of her being familiar with the garden due to her father being a medic. But the thought's gone as she accepts the prize quietly, stepping aside to allow other members have a chance - it's only fair after all. Sitting back, she watched Windwaker takes a shot at the next question. She listens to the rabbit considers the answer. It's another easy one - yarrow is pretty much used for inducing vomit, so you could guess stinging nettle do the same. A small chuckle escapes her maw at the rabbit's answer. "Most herbs stop someone from dying," she lightly hints for him. "The wounds one isn't in the answer, Wind."

A faint lingering scent of Volary Flights, but tucked away underneath. Curious, the feline is the next to join the crowd of members, coming to a halt behind Windwaker to examine Strelitzia and her little bird. Those Volary Flights members always have a bird companion, and she somewhat envies them for that. How nice it would be to have someone to call a friend that accompanies you everywhere you go. Seeing as the rest of Wind Haveners have already asked the stranger the questions and whatnot, the former honorguard sits and awaits for a response.

Everyone's shouting. Ground's shaking. Rocks are falling from the mountain and the sky it seems. A glance out of the window of her home confirms it all - it's a landslide, a chaotic one. She wastes no time, grabbing her little satchel of herbs and a journal, throwing it over her beck onto her back and she quickly exists the cottage of her family's home. Sending a prayer that the cottage would not be damaged, as it's not that close to the mountain compare to the other houses, the feline makes her escape, noticing other Wind Haveners also running for the meadow. She tries to make a head count from what she sees (although she haven't met all the clanmates yet) and it looks like almost everyone is there, but it's hard to tell. "L-Loey! You need to do a head count!" she calls out to him, as she runs at Juba's legs. Loey knows his clanmates and how many there are best.
