    Aspenstar looked at the cats below him who had guarded the camp. "You three are permitted to sleep as long as you need. But, when you wake up you must put yourselves to work." He looked at the other cats, "who would like to volunteer?" He noticed Blackthistle stepping forward and he nodded. "I need more cats."

    Anipaw ran to the stone and looked up at his mentor, puffing out his chest. He was hoping that everyone thought highly of him.


    Heatherfrost padded over to Darkfrost and leaned her head on his shoulder.

    Anipaw trod to the front and sat in front of his clanmates. His time had finally come and he was so happy. And, the fact he would become a warrior with Goldpaw!


    Heatherfrost smiled at Anipaw. She couldn't wait to have kits so that she could share a moment like this with them. She looked up at Darkfrost. Were they moving too fast? She hadn't really gotten to know him but who else was really willing to take care of her?

    Blackthistle also padded over and congratulated Firesong before padding back to Sakura. Aspenstar watched his friend with the she-cat quietly and began to feel angry at him. he felt the need to destroy it but he knew deep down it was wrong. But, he couldn't lose his friend... Not after losing his father, Elmstar, or even his first mate for that matter. He looked over at Silverfog and quickly looked away. After all he had done to her there was no way she would take him back.


    His eyes swept over his two children. Aspenstar wanted badly to be a good father, but he knew that they would be angry at him for remaining silent for so long.

    Aspenstar stepped down and padded over to Firesong. "If at any time you need rest, just tell. I would hope that Acaciastar would be considerate enough to allow you some space of your own." Blackthistle padded across Aspenstars path and walked to Sakura, "Sakura and I volunteer." He spoke out. Aspenstar nodded and lashed his tail at Blackthistle.

    Heatherfrost nuzzled Darkfrost's shoulder and then chanted Anitalon and Goldstrike's names. She didn't care if they were moving too fast, there was no reason that they couldn't be together. What others thought didn't matter. Not in that moment, not ever.


    Anitalon felt giddy. He had never been celebrated before and it felt perfect. He forgot about the prior events and sat before his clan, enjoying the moment.

    Our country was the best and now... now it's a wreck. We call BLM and Standing rock petty problems because as children we were taught to act upon what we thought was right socially. But, most of us were wrong.


    And I, am just an ordinary boy. I'm sitting in the back of a classroom thinking this in my mind rather than speaking out loud. I look to the left, to my right. I try to see inside their minds. What are they thinking, the other students? Maybe they're thinking about clothes or movie dates, first kisses and make overs. Were any of them thinking as I, about the cost of our actions.


    "Mr. Knox, please pay attention." The teacher pulls me back and I begin writing again. The notes. Everyday we are brought here and given orders on how we are to do things. And that's how they catch us. We do what they say and we comply.


    We comply, and they brainwash us into believing that this is what we were made for. "Alright, have the rest of the hour to talk." Everyone seems to be talking but me, their chatter so loud and overwhelming. I look out the window at the fence, a guard with a gun and a large dog pacing back and forth. What was this world coming to?
