Softkit pads out into the clearing from the nursery, her eyes wide with wonder. She's never seen silverpelt this clearly, being as small and young as she is. She hasn't even met all of her clan yet, and she certainly doesn't have many friends. With a small huff, she sets herself on remedying that. Scanning the forming crowd,her gaze settles on Thornfang. He looks lonely, she notes. Without really thinking it through, she makes up her mind and bounds over to him, smiling. "Hiya! My name's Softkit, what's yours?" She has no idea what's happened recently, nor what may come. She only knows that this looks like a lonely cat; and no cat should be left alone.

Looking up from the mossball she's been playing with, Softkit greets him with a happy purr. "Hi Thornfang! How's it going today?" She asks, tail held high. She has no idea whatsoever of what's happening in her clan; all she knows is that Thornfang is a face she hasn't talked to much, and she wants to remedy that.
She's actually quite lonely, being one of the youngest kits in the nursery. Any potential friendship is something she'll pursue immediately. Maybe Thornfang won't play mossball with her, but he'll talk, and that's enough for her.

Softkit frowns and tilts her head. "Wait, you're clan leader? I thought that was some other cat." She stops, gazing up at Thornfang in awe before confusion washes over her face. "Shouldn't you be Thornstar then?" Lifting her paw to remove a bit of moss snagged under her claw, she looks at Thornclaw expectantly, eyes wide with curiosity. For a moment she's distracted by the moss- it's really caught on her claw. She hisses in pain when she finally gets it out, only now realizing that there had been a thorn embedded in the moss. She looks at the thorn, dotted with her blood, and then back at Thornfang. Did that mean something?

Softkit flattens her ears, scowling. For a clan leader, he sure seems impatient. She thinks, giving her paw a quick lick before glaring up at him. "It's just a thorn. I may be a kit, but i'll live," she states firmly, holding her ground. He's more of a grump than she had previously imagined. "You're not going to make any friends if you're being a meanie. A leader needs friends, right?" She's already forgotten any suspicion she had upon finding the thorn, focused only on Thornfang himself; and possibly helping him as much as a kit could.

Softkit flinches at Thornfang's raised voice, starting to get a little scared. She fluffs her tail defensively. "I obviously wasn't going to die. Being sarcastic is mean." With a small hiss, she licks over her paw, dragging it behind her ear. "Even I know that trying to make everyone happy is a waste. Why bother with it when you can do more important things?" After a pause she sighs, shaking her head. Grown-ups are the worst.

Eyes widening, Softkit stares at Thornfang in wonder. "You've seen a rebellion?" She deliberately ignores the rest of his statement; it's all things she's heard before from the elders and queens. Dazing out for a moment, she imagines a rebellion; blood and fur is everywhere, hissing and snarling cats tearing at each other's pelts mercilessly. Shaking her head, she comes back to herself, slightly frightened. A rebellion seems scary.
