MMM I need to post with Blues but I'm,,, kinda not feeling welcomed there so I dunno anymore. We'll see what happens.

And I'll try to think of some things! I'm not sure if I'll be any help, but I'll try. c:

He's pretty sure that he's not supposed to be here. It's not like he's done anything wrong or whatever, at least not yet, but the child is trotting along a border that he doesn't recognize, perhaps simply because he doesn't understand borders at all, simply knows that it means people are nearby. Not to say that Perseus is looking for people, not really. He likely should be, considering that he's too young to be safe out here and has no idea where his family is, but... He's just not. They'll find him or they won't, it doesn't at all concern him either way. Safety isn't something that the cub worries about, partially because he'd been well-protected all his life and doesn't know otherwise, and partially because he'll never care for safety. What's the point in that? It means that you're not doing anything fun. (And no, sitting at home playing pretend isn't fun, it's just something to keep him occupied.)

And this? This is anything but pretend.

The small clouded leopard is having the time of his life in the thick jungle at the edges of ShadowClan's territory, trying to climb up the oddly slippery trees only to slide back down again. He manages to swing from a vine, once, but that just ends with a bruise blossoming all along his back. Walking would be a little more difficult when the pain from that actually sets in, but again, Perseus isn't bothered. Instead, he sets his mind to climbing up yet again, using every ounce of strength a tiny kitten could ever hope to muster. And this time? This time, he makes it. The world looks different up high, and he can see paths where constant walking had worn down the grass. He can see cool logs that would probably be really fun to walk across, and in the distance (honestly, he's not even sure how far), he can see people.

    "HEY! Can anyone hear me?"

It was probably true that all of the kids these days were without a family. Getting dropped off at the border, running away, getting lost. Sometimes their families were dead, sometimes they didn't know them. And sometimes, if you were like Perseus, it just didn't matter. Sure, he loved them in a way. They were family. But they didn't matter. They kept him fed and safe and sometimes they would play with him, so that was nice. Yet they were boring, and that was perhaps the one thing that he could never stand to see. His life was fated to be a dramatic one, with an outlook like that. More than anything else, it meant that Perseus would never be content with a simple life. The people had to interest him, as did the work, and the adventures ahead. Maybe one day he would find the prospect of settling down and having kids exciting, but right now that was mostly met with a fake gag or a roll of his eyes.

There were a certain set of things that the clouded leopard liked, and a set of things that he didn't like. It was that simple. Perhaps he was similar to Marauder in that regard. While the caracal had grown to be a forest fire, he had still started as just a spark. That was where the younger feline was, right about now. For the most part he was a cheerful child, and that showed in a sort of electric grin that he shot downwards. "You wouldn't've answered me if you couldn't hear me," he reminded, padding slowly along the length of the branch to inspect him from a different angle (head tilted for added effect, of course). "I like your ears. Did you do that on purpose?"

It had occurred to the child some time ago that he wouldn't be able to get down from this without jumping. He didn't have the coordination necessary to not break something on the wet-mossy-jungle-tree bark. Not that he wouldn't try, he just knew that he would fail. So obviously it was time for Plan B (Plan C, actually, because B had him looking for another vine), and he was very obviously staring at Marauder as if there was a bullseye on his back. He wouldn't jump without at least warning the caracal first, but the plan was already set in motion. "Mama always told me to be quiet 'cause it's rude to yell all the time. She's not usually wrong." One paw shifts precariously close to the edge of the branch, but Perseus doesn't freak out. Actually, he barely reacts to it at all. The rush of "oh shit" was short-lived, though it lasted long enough to put a little bit of fear into the kid's heart. A little tiny bit. That he definitely would't admit to.

"Uhm. There's nothing to knock on except the trees? And that wouldn't'a been very loud. You're weird." He likes it, though. Marauder seems funny. "I can't get down."

"That book looks boring," was Perseus' first comment as he fully approached the situation, staring down at it in a way that said that he has no idea what could possibly be happening. But anything titled Little Women has to be boring, right? Yeah yeah, don't judge a book by its cover (or in this case, its title) but the kid doesn't really care for long books with an attention span as short as his. Adventures are fun, and later the child would develop a penchant for Greek literature, but later wasn't now, and it's barely five seconds later that the clouded leopard is instead batting at Marauder's hoodie in his boredom. Maybe someone else would have been at least a little wary of the caracal with everything that he said, but truth be told, Perseus wasn't wary of anyone, much less the first person who he'd met after he wandered away from his family.

He was interesting, unlike so many other people. The hoodie, the book, and now the black dye. "What do you need dye for? I mean I know why, but why are you gonna do it?" It didn't really register that it could be for more than cosmetic reasons or something, but even then he wouldn't really understand it. Red fur was fine in his books. Maybe Marauder just doesn't like red? No, his hoodie is red, that didn't make sense. He was probably just weird. That was okay.

Perseus had never seen something like this guy before. That wasn't necessarily a surprising thing, because he had never seen anything except for other clouded leopards, some birds, and a few reptiles, but it does mean that he stares up at him without shame, head tilted and eyes narrowed. "Why is your name Risingnightmares?" It sounded like a scary name, but the child prided himself in the fact that he wasn't scared of anything — however painful such a trait could be later in life. "And why are you bringing gifts? Is that normal? What is it?" Having spent the whole two months of his life before this place with his parents and outside of any sort of clan, the leopard didn't know anything about what normally happened in places like this. Which, well, that also meant that he had no filter when it came to the questions he asked.

    [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0;width:400px;text-align:justify;line-height:1.3;font-size:8pt]
Everything looks kind of small from up here. Not like... Super small, not as small as him, but he can't say for sure exactly how big these guys actually were. Again, it's not like it would matter much. They wouldn't see him cowering because someone was big. "Yeah, uh, hi! I'm Perseus. I like your name." The child once again takes a few steps to peer down at the creature, slowly starting to realize just how high up he is. He'd only made it to maybe half this height last time he tried climbing. (Okay, it's not terribly high up, but he's tiny and this is an accomplishment in his books.) "How am I supposed to get down? What if I can never get down? I can't live up here." By the end of his commentary, the clouded leopard is barely whispering in a horrified tone, as if this was the worst thing that could have possibly happened to him. His plan of jumping on Marauder's back suddenly seemed like a bad one, but he didn't have a Plan D yet. Uh-oh.

    [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0;width:400px;text-align:justify;line-height:1.3;font-size:8pt]
Was this something that Perseus would find himself enjoying? That was really the only thought on the child's mind as he trots up, openly studying both her work and the bobcat in general. They hadn't met yet, but that wasn't really surprising. The child had yet to meet many people. Only a few of them had names in his head, and perhaps that was why he still chose to stand by Marauder — well, between his paws, more like. The caracal wasn't nice, no (just listen to him talk), but he was kinda funny, and the clouded leopard could appreciate that. Besides, his hoodie was cool. That was reason enough to stick around him, right? Maybe not, but it was his reason anyway. "I like it," he announces with a certain finality, like he's some art critic instead of some random kid Frostice didn't know. "You should make more."

    [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0;width:400px;text-align:justify;line-height:1.3;font-size:8pt]
The fact that he didn't know Twilightpoison wasn't the only reason that the child was so fearless as he came to stand in front of the Exiler. Simply put, nothing bothered him at this age. All he wanted was to see what was going on, and Sans had already said that she wouldn't be allowed to do anything like that, even if he didn't like the fact that he was threatening her. "Why are you in trouble?" The clouded leopard tilts his head rather curiously as he sits. She doesn't really look too scary or anything. Just... Kinda scared, actually. Why would anyone be threatening her like that, if she wasn't dangerous?

    CALMING PERSEUS DOWN:
when sad: gentle, close contact. being held. things that smell like vanilla. soft fabrics. being read to or generally spoken to. if you snap at him to stop, he'll listen, but that will also make the original pain much worse.

when panicking: constant speech. being around people he trusts, staying out of large groups. being held. vanilla. quiet white noise. being loud or upsetting him will only make it worse.

when angry: mostly just arguing back with him. reasoning with him will only make it worse. winning his fights. seriously, to get through him you literally have to start shouting back. that's all you can do.

    [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0;width:400px;text-align:justify;line-height:1.3;font-size:8pt]
Perseus is a two month old clouded leopard who just recently joined ShadowClan. He's rather innocent and naive, but is going to be slowly developing an easily-angered and violent layer beneath that. You can check his tags for more information, and his bio is a work in progress.

OPEN TO: detailed plots, non-romantic relationships (particularly strong friendships or rivalries), almost anything, as long as the thread has something happening, not just chatting.

CLOSED TO: romantic relationships, moving groups, major trauma.

I can make most threads, as long as I know where it would be. Perseus is prone to some wandering, but as he's two months old, I would prefer that at least some of them were in ShadowClan.

[li]He swipes tiredly at the heavy string above his head, already fighting a yawn. It hadn't been too long since he'd settled down here, but the warmth that seems to radiate from the area around him combined with the clean night air seems to have a rather soporific effect on the child. After a moment, he loses the battle and yawns, the sound shifting to a low grumbling whine just a second later. "I'm not tired," he lies, even as he snuggles closer and allows his eyes to fall shut.[/li]
[li]You think that he might be some sort of heat-seeking alien, with the way he hides under every piece of fabric you own. Or perhaps it's the softness of it, but either way, he has a habit of stealing everything you own. Your blankets, your hoodies, your pillows, sometimes. He's kind of cute, you'll admit that every now and then, when he's half asleep swimming in something that's way too big for him.[/li]

Would it be nice to forget the names of his family members? He would, at some point, there wasn't really a question about that. If he had his way, they would never play another part in his life. They wouldn't matter. Not to say that he intentionally ditched them, but he wouldn't mourn them at all. Would they be disappointed in him? He wants to say that they wouldn't, and he wants to say that he doesn't care. Maybe he does. It doesn't matter. There's nothing frightening about the flare of brightness in him, nothing dangerous yet, but there's the always that possibility. Who knows where the world would take him? He doesn't think that he'll end up the way Marauder has, hurt in ways that will never mend, but even if he does, he'll be able to accept it the same way that he accepts him. Tarnished is fine. Damaged is fine. He's interesting and he's not bad, not really. He can still make it hurt though.

"Are you always sarcastic?" Perseus has to fight the urge to try and hang upside down from the branch after he says that, once more reminded of the fact that he doesn't necessarily like this. No, not scared. Just uncomfortable. Marauder seems uncomfortable too, or maybe just not used to it. Maybe he doesn't understand it. The child wants to laugh. "I make lots'f sense. You need to pay attention." There's nothing mysterious or strange about his statement. He likes the tufts of fur, that's all. He wonders if they're soft. (Marauder probably wouldn't let him find out. But he would, eventually. Perc was just determined like that.) He did kind of look like a jester though, with those funny hats. That would be a great gag gift, even if Marauder would disagree.

His nose wrinkles at the caracal's comment, though he does lean a bit away from the edge now. "That's gross." It wouldn't be that bad, right? Just a few breaks or something. It would take a lot more for him to go splat. Actually, he doesn't want to find out. In all honesty, all he wants is to be back on the ground, even if he doesn't know what he'll do after that. Go back to his family? That idea feels strangely wrong, distant. As if they're not a part of his mind anymore, and maybe they're not. Maybe he's really just put them all out of his mind that quickly. "She didn't ditch me," the clouded leopard protests a little too quickly, because that did cut a little bit deeper than he would have liked. It made it seem like he wasn't wanted. Did she want him? It doesn't matter, he's not going back there, even if he just decides that now.

His tail lashes with a heavy frown dampening his features, one that doesn't clear up until Ijutsu picks him up. Even then, it's simply replaced with a slight panic because he can feel them. The teeth that are longer than they should be. It didn't break skin or anything, but they easily framed the child's small neck, making him feel like he was going to be beheaded if something went wrong. And the slip feels like it just might be the one mistake that kills him, at least it does until he's placed back on the ground. In an instant, Perseus is scrambling mostly away from the three people, his back to Marauder before he realizes that maybe he doesn't like that, either, and simply stands with his back to the tree he'd just gotten down from. "Uh," he murmurs, sounding impossibly small, even smaller than his body. "Thanks." He wants to keep frowning at Marauder, but he's lost the will to do so by now. Maybe he really did mean what he said, but either way there's no point staying mad at him. "You don't have to make it sound so scary," comes his last-ditch attempt to keep himself calm. Not scared.

    "What do you want?"

"I can't really read," he points out, shoulders rising and falling in a simple shrug, "so I guess that I don't have any taste. I know the alphabet, though." A few simply phrases, too. "A cat", "two dogs", "brown bird". "The", and all the pronouns. But when it came to much more than that, he struggled. Why "bear" and not "bare"? "Reed" is the same as "read", but that was pronounced two ways depending on when it happened. It didn't make sense. Not much did, though, and the child had long since learned to accept it simply as what it was. Words were words and they were weird. Marauder was Marauder and he was weird, too. The glare just makes him stare back as if he's confused, innocent, soft. The perfect embodiment of who, me? even though there's nobody else here to have done it. Maybe it was the ears. Or the hoodie. Or it could be the books. Or just that he was the first person to intrigue him.

    Really, who knew?

Blue-grey eyes narrow ever so slightly as he contemplates the response, only to nod a second later. "You're being sarcastic again." Did they actually hold beauty pageants here? That one person he saw earlier would definitely win. With the piercings. Perseus still doesn't know the stranger's name, but they looked to be the pretty sort. Not that he knows what is actually considered pretty. Or annoying. Or funny. Has it been made clear that he has no social experience outside of his immediate family, yet? All he's ever known are the three of them. "Not really, no. I don't think that there are any other kids here." Even if there were, he would probably still hang out around him, but might as well give him a little bit of hope for an end to this, right?

"Do you know where you could find some dye?"

In a world where connections meant everything, Perseus had none. Parents out of the question and not important to begin with, siblings back with his parents. The only person he sort of knew was Marauder because he chose to follow him around. There were a few others that he liked, too. He couldn't pronounce the nice lynx's name, the one who had gotten him out of the tree, but the child decided that he liked anyone who had been there for that situation. "Are you not gonna say your name?" The question is oddly innocent, looking almost concerned when he sees everything that Lirim has been through. The injuries are rather sickening, in all honesty, but he can't help the sort of morbid curiosity deep underneath that. Not that he can see himself wanting to inflict something like that, it was just... Watching them heal seemed interesting, or something like that. "Are you okay?" While the dire wolf doesn't respond well to Marauder's question, he finds himself wondering the same thing. Did the person get away with that?

Meet and greet. Saying hello, or something like that. The clouded leopard instead simply follows what everyone else has done, aside from the part where he still sticks himself close to Marauder's legs. "I'm Perseus."

Marauder's nudge has the child half-stumbling a step away, looking up at him with something almost like surprise. And just as easily, he's shuffling back in with a certain defiance to him. It's going to be harder than that to get him to leave him alone, but the second that Lirim turns to leave, the child is almost shrinking away with a frown. It hasn't been long at all, but he's used to Marauder's resistance. Why is the dire wolf leaving, though? Was it just Marauder? Still, he can't help where his thoughts take him. Did I do something wrong? "Uhm. Okay," Perseus says instead, hesitantly looking at the people who seemed to know them, just in case they got mad too. "Who was that?"

"You're both really bad at this," Perseus notes as he joins the growing group, weaving his way through paws (mostly on Marauder's side, considering he's only met Eridan once) to stand in front of the dingo. Dingoes are weird things, he thinks, but that's mostly because the child had yet to meet many canines at all. In his mind, people were all just messed up clouded leopards. Marauder was a clouded leopard with ear tufts. The Lynx from earlier was also a tufted leopard, just without Marauder's tendency to dye his fur. "You're supposed to be nice, and you can't assume that people are always bad because they're not." Yeah, it's a childish innocence that allows him to see the world in bright colors. It will fade eventually, and yet Perseus will still find himself smiling at it. By then, it would likely be mere force of habit. "But I mean. He's not wrong. What's your name?"
