"I wasn't going to - I wouldn't go as low as doing that. But a warning, kid. If you keep going on the way you're going, sooner or later, you'll meet someone who isn't as merciful as me,"the elder didn't step back, but instead addressed Snakehiss, finding himself not wanting to get on the black tom's wrong side. Snakehiss wasn't perfect, but he had certainly redeemed himself following his exile, and Thornfang knew that the warrior was loyal to StarClan and the code in the end. Whether that was a good or bad thing, the old tom wasn't sure anymore. "I guess so, but best start early. It is a little disappointing that she's being made an apprentice late, though. She needs all the experience she can get to be the greatest warrior that she can be, and to learn to be disciplined."

    Thornfang made his way over, eyes narrowed. Great, what was she hollering on about? He wondered if what she was going to announce would have caused him to have the same reaction as a leader. Where did he sit? Amongst his Clanmates, as though everything was normal? Or at the outskirts? No. Thornfang knew that some of the Clan were on his side with the knowledge that he was starting to redeem himself, and excluding himself from his Clan - the Clan he had grown up in, regardless of the circumstances of his birth, would only make things worse. So his settled down, a distance from the Clanrock, not wanting to go completely deaf from the she cat's calls, but surrounded by as many cats as possible. "Unless this is something desperately important to life changing levels, I would rather not go deaf."He grunted.

    ShadowClan might need a new deputy and medicine cat? That sounded great. Or at least, it would have sounded great once. Now the dark tom wasn't so certain. The elder wondered if the cat who was chosen to be deputy would be as ambitious as he had been. Secretly, the old tom had always wanted to be a medicine cat, especially when his obsession with StarClan had been stronger. Now, he didn't know how he felt about StarClan anymore. He was trying to reason with the code though, and deep down, he knew that the starry warriors in the sky had all made mistakes - but were still good cats in the end. Perhaps Thornfang was actually no worse or better than them in the end. It almost made him desire to become a medicine cat, but no way was that happening.

    Oh, great. What did Thornfang say? 'Hi, I'm Thornfang, and I took one of Raggedface's lives?' how about, 'Hello there, I trained in the Dark Forest?' What positive things were there to say? But he had to say something, right? Well, might as well throw anything out there. "I'm Thornfang, in case any of you guys haven't heard the whole drama that's gone on with me. When I was younger, I originally wanted to be medicine cat, but there was already a medicine cat at the time. The deaths of my father and my siblings made me grow up to be a fighter, and I always wanted to avenge them, though I suppose in the end, I never really did."Yup, reveal some information about his past that could be used against him. It was hard for the old tom to keep facing the rest of his Clan after saying something as stupid as that.

    //ooc intro in mistheart's post!

    Thornfang was late, but after an amount of time, he begun to piece together what was going on. Dear StarClan - the kit was a murderer. Well, he supposed that this was more proof that you could be a murderer at any age, huh? Elder, or kit. "Do whatever you like to her, it's none of my business, though I am furious. Why would any cat stoop so low as to murder kits? The Warrior Code protects kits of all the Clans, and yet you murdered ones from your own Clan,"as both felines went on to talk about the Dark Forest, the brown tom knew what he had to do. He had to tell the truth. "I have a confession to make - I was training in the Dark Forest as well. However, I was always aware of their intentions, though I never would have backed them up. I trained there to gain more experience, and that was all. However, I must state that they treated me as well as other cats terribly. When they battled me, they would always be trying to kill me. That's how I learnt to survive - kill or be killed. When I decided to let my enemies live, it felt very weird. So I went back and killed my Dark Forest mentor, and now I don't get dreams from them anymore. Whilst I understand what Minkkit is going through though, what she did is absolutely unacceptable, and am fine with whatever you decide to do to her now."

    Thornfang narrowed his green eyes at Raggedstar. "Thanks for the politeness,"he told her sarcastically, though he did carry on, "Whilst I do understand her side of the story, she is a murderer, and not just a murder of any cat, but of newborn kits - kits who had all of their lives ahead of them. It's natural that we're going to feel bad in it, and I don't really care if she stays or goes, but exile seems like the best option in my opinion. After all, she wasn't born in ShadowClan, so she must have experience living outside a Clan."Maybe Minkkit would find some twolegs to take care of her? If she so easily killed a Clanmate, it might be better for her to live as a cat outside of the code. He didn't mind, but if she was exiled, it was probably for the best that she didn't show herself again.

    "So, you're awake somehow. What exactly happened? What's the whole story?"Thornfang wasn't sure how to feel about Littlepaw, though he was certain that she hated him. She was pretty rude, and she was still an outsider, but even the elderly feline had turned out to not be pure ShadowClan in the end. He was so confused, maybe even guilty, and he didn't know what path to take anymore. He had just wanted to be the best cat he could be. Something had gone wrong somewhere.

    "You don't remember me? I thought you hated me. You must have lost your memory. Looks like we're going to have to work out what happened to her ourselves, Crowcall."Frankly, the old tom had hated Littlepaw too. They had been enemies, and he would have killed her had he not been so afraid of the consequences. He would have killed many, many cats, but in the end, that wouldn't have worked.

    For StarClan's sake, everyone in ShadowClan was going to be dead at this rate. The old tom couldn't decide whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. The dark brown tom pressed his nose to the dead feline's body, "I wish you safe hunting with StarClan,"and with that, he heaved the dead ShadowClanner onto his back, wincing in in pain. This wasn't a good idea for his old bones, but he would be respectful and do everything that he could for the deceased Firefur. "Something killed him. Wild animal or cat, I'm not sure, but the blood says something. We'll have to work it out as soon as possible so that there can be an investigation, but for now, we'll bring him to the camp. Pearlkit, you have to stay strong for him, stronger than you've ever been before."Thornfang was no stranger to losing a loved one - his father, his siblings, he had grieved so much, it had caused him fury. Thornfang decided to speak up. "We should give him a chance. I myself have not come across any problems with Twoface so far, and of course if I do, I may choose to change my mind. But no cat is perfect."He wasn't sure if he liked the deputy, but he didn't really like many cats in the Clan. He wasn't doing this to back up Raggedstar either, but if she saw it that way, it would be good... though it may make him look more weak than ever. Was that a good or bad thing? It made him an easier victim, but it also made him appear harmless. Huh.

    "Do you want every cat in the Clan to go deaf?"Thornfang came over. Softlight. She was a traitor, that was true, but it was clear that to some extent, she cared about him. Either that or she had saved the old tom when he had been attempting suicide to gain respect within the Clan. How much respect she hoped to gain from saving a cat that many of the Clan wanted dead was beyond him, so the first option seemed most likely. "What's going on? What happened? Tell me everything."

    "She knows what I'm like - we've known each other for quite a long time,"it was a good thing Thornfang wasn't his old self, otherwise he would have been snarling at the deputy already. "Listen. Stop crying, you'll make things worse. Trust me, I've cried way too much in my life, and it's not a pleasant experience. Do you know who did it, or how it happened?"The tom was probably from outside ShadowClan, though Thornfang could never be sure as far as this Clan went. Once, he would have hated these kits, but now he was slowly beginning to understand that one couldn't control the circumstances of their birth. The elder finding out that he himself was not pure ShadowClan had been the wake up call.

    As Twoface suggested killing the kits, the old tom spoke again. "Don't kill them. It's not their fault they were born. Once, I would have agreed with the whole killing them thing, but it's unfair on both the kits and the Clan. They should at least be given a chance to prove themselves - after all, no cat is completely useless, and everybody has a purpose."

    Thornfang wasn't sure what to think of Goldenlight's rudeness, and he simply gave a sigh of exasperation. He did notice how Softlight moved closer to him, and realised that she was probably feeling pretty insecure right now. It was true that the Clan was supporting her, or at least, some of them were, but how many cats were all that close to the she cat? Thornfang knew that whilst neither of them quite knew how to feel about the other, he and Softlight had known each other for a long time, and she might be putting a bit more trust than he would have expected in him now.

    "In the end, we'll deal with StarClan when we go to join them, or don't, as the case may be. It doesn't matter now. We shouldn't give up yet - you can at least try to mother these kits, right? They aren't responsible for the circumstances of their birth, I see that now. Maybe realising my own heritage was the wake up call. I might even help you every so often if I can be bothered. We can both be failures trying to set things right. All of that is as long as you really didn't mean to have those kits. But who's the father? How did it happen?"

    //hi!

    Thornfang couldn't help but narrow his green eyes the moment he saw Littlepaw. She didn't hate him now, because she had lost her memory. The dark tom couldn't decide whether that was a good or a bad thing, but he supposed that for the most part it was a positive. "Hello."The old tom spoke.

    Thornfang made his way over, and tried to settle in with the rest of the Clan, sitting as close to the centre as possible. Was he still truly a part of ShadowClan? Raggedstar hadn't exiled him, but had she been right to let him stay? He still had so many questions in his head, as he wondered what StarClan was, and what the code had really meant. Maybe in the end, everything had just been a huge misunderstanding.

    Raggedstar was dead - forever this time. The cat he had wanted to kill so desperately, one of his worst enemies, gone forever. Did she hunt with StarClan now? Deep down, the old tom knew that she did. This death marked something, a change in him. Thornfang understood now. Every cat made mistakes - and it was okay, as long as they worked to become a better cat. Not perfect, but better. That's what Raggedstar had done, and what Thornfang had failed to understand at the time, blinded by so many emotions.

    He went straight up to the she cat's body, though he did hesitate before touching his nose to her head. It felt strange, coming into contact with Raggedstar in a way that was not violent. His claws unsheathed briefly, something in his mind urging him to attack her. But Thornfang pushed it away. Thank you, StarClan. I know what I must do now.

    "It all makes sense now, and I'm sorry. We both made mistakes, but we can both fix them. None of us our perfect, but StarClan never wanted perfect cats. That's what I failed to understand, but I understand it now, I really do. It sounds strange, but in a way, the cat I always saw as my enemy may have been the one to make me see the light,"Thornfang wasn't about to transform completely, but his confusion was gone now. He felt better. Not great, but better. Raggedstar hadn't been the happiest cat either. "I swear I will hunt with you in StarClan, I swear that I'll try, that I'll do a little better."

    //well, thornfang's gotten some more character development in as well

    Softlight was leaning against Thornfang. How was he meant to feel about this - disgusted, or happy? In a way, it was almost like it was the dark feline's responsibility now to look after the pregnant she cat. He had hated her. Softlight was a traitor. But she was no more than a traitor than Thornfang was, not to mention that the elder had used Daisystar's death against Softlight. He didn't hate Daisystar anymore now, either. He didn't hate Raggedstar. Sure, he didn't really like them very much either, but it wasn't pure burning hatred, it wasn't a desire for their deaths. Something had changed.

    "I hated her, but I am no better than her. Raggedstar, I will follow in your pawsteps. I'll do what I think is right, I'll try my best. Softlight, after you betrayed me those moons back, I hated you, too. I see that you were only doing what you believed was right now, too. Stay strong for your kits - they need you. And Twoface, congratulations - I hope that you will be the best leader ShadowClan has ever seen, however unlikely that is."Who really had been ShadowClan's best leader? He didn't believe it was Raggedstar, or Daisystar, either. Thornfang also knew in the end it wasn't himself. Must have been someone from a long, long time ago. Oh, how the brown tomcat wished he could travel back in time! But maybe he still did have something he needed to do, and that was to focus on himself, not on other cats. He needed to find out the path that he was meant to take, and let others choose theirs.

    Thornfang made his way over with much less hostility than usual. He had once despised outsiders, and would have mocked Thebe for this only being her first catch. "Carry on the way you're going, and try your hardest. That'll be good enough, I suppose,"the elder encouraged. He still was a short tempered jerk at times, but he was no longer feeling guilty over what he had done, and was ready to carry on his life in what he believed to be the right way. It didn't matter what other cats thought of him after all. "I'll be taking that mouse."He forced a smile as he attempted to grab the mouse and chew on it slowly.

    "You still believe that hummingbirds are your ancestors, don't you? And mind keeping it down? We don't need to lose sleep or our sense of hearing because of your beliefs,"Thornfang still thought the entire idea was ridiculous, and he seriously hoped that someone killed the hummingbird. He didn't even get how any of what Littlenewt said made sense, and now that the dark elder was back to having firm, certain and clear beliefs in StarClan, he had gone back to disapproving of other religions. However, he didn't hate them. Thornfang himself had grown confused for a while, so he just hoped that Littlenewt's state of confusion wouldn't last too long, which it seemed to be. At this realisation, the elder narrowed his green eyes. "Someone kill it. I won't do it, because I'll become more of a foxheart than ever in his eyes. But someone do it, I'm doing him a favour by giving this order. Things will make more sense to him. I was there once to, so I know how it feels, I suppose."
