Her brother had sent her out to cool down after a brief argument that resulted in another captain being injured. "You can't do this again. Go hunt," he said. She huffed and left. Leaving the pack territories and even exploring out of the portal onto Earth. With her head down and ears back, she figured she should at least find a good prize to take home, or at least it could serve as a snack.
The sun was setting, and the fog was thick causing red light to swallow the forest. The compact dirt felt soft under her paws, course from the time spent climbing sharp rocks. She should've been at least patrolling the brush for the scent of enemies or Morphs, but she was too intent on finding something to fill the ache in her stomach. Rich scents of the forest flooded her as she walked on.
An unfamiliar, exotic smell hit her. Hopefully it's at least edible, she thought sullenly. Licking her muzzle to clear her tongue of the phantom taste of past prey, she stalked into the small copse of trees.
