The Thunderlands hadn't been bad to him. In fact, they'd been the opposite. They'd been good to him. A bit strange, a bit too close to BlizzardClan in terms of relations, but good to him. It wasn't in the friendly sense, but in the "knock some sense into him" sense. There was something he didn't learn as a child, and while he placed that blame on others, he recognized that in the end it didn't matter. He'd finally learned that not everyone hated him, and that being an asshole like he'd been justified any rude reactions others had given him.

Once he realized that, Thunderlands no longer felt like home. There was another place pulling at his strings. Not BlizzardClan, where he was born, raised, and where much of his family still resided. Not the Sanguine Ruins, where his grandfather had left his legacy. No. He felt a longing towards the Shadow Veil, where he hadn't stayed long, but he felt like he fit.

Waiting on the border, the wolfdog kept his ears, nose, and eyes open for the first to arrive.

He saw Junepaw and Starlight, heard the words spoken, and was about to answer when Eddie came up and spoke. His fur slightly bristled at the words, but it always kind of looked spiked due to the ice that constantly coated it in a thin cover, misting with the warmer air around him. Why did everyone think he was a child? It made no sense. He was full grown, as large as a male wolf, and hadn't spoken or done anything to represent himself as a child. Still. Damned fools.

But he didn't speak, because he was learning. In fact, he didn't even acknowledge Eddie. Instead he turned to Abbi, because she was a familiar face. "Nothing fits me right, but Shadow Veil fits me best for now." He said with a huff, seeming uncomfortable for a moment before he added, "Sorry about before. Though I won't apologize to the guy I attacked. He deserved it." He couldn't even rememeber the guy's name, but it didn't matter. You didn't just threaten someone without consequences."But yes, I'm here to rejoin."

Nox blinked, "Thanks. I assume Nemesis is your name, not that you just labeled me your enemy." He said, not really asking or worrying about it. He thought it was an odd name, but really? Where did he have room to talk? His mother gave him a shoddy three letter name that meant "night". Like.. did she expect him to just sleep all the time?

He pushed thoughts of his mother away before he started snarling just as Ambrosia showed up. He looked at her in her small, dark form and thought she kinda looked like night too. His eyes might have lingered on her a bit too long, but he was quick to break the silence he'd started by saying, "Yeah. I remember you. Thanks." And then he walked passed all of them and headed to camp by himself, saying nothing else.

"Just let her do what she wants. It's her life. She could leave the group now and all of you guys would just cry and say bye, why stop her from doing this? Especially what she fucking eats?" Nox' ears were slightly turned back, eyes bright with irritation. "You're only hurting yourself and her if you try and change her. I've seen worse. At least she didn't kill herself." But no, they had to try and force things down her throat against her will. FIguratively, of course, and then got all pissy instead of being glad she was back. That's how you lose friends, and they didn't seem to realize it.

Nox shook his head. "It's her life. Let her decide. You have your own life to live, don't impose upon hers too. That's just greedy. Selfish. Her taking that medicine isn't to make her feel better, it's to make you feel better. Especially when she's persistently said that she doesn't. Want. To." If anyone was an idiot, it was them, but Nox wasn't one to slap back insults anymore.

He was done here though, recognizing there were certain holes too deep to climb out of, and he was already digging his way there.

Turning, he left, ice crackling in the air around him.

(setting: They've met, but are still basically just acquaintances. They've discussed all the details about Ivoria and the group and are looking for a home to establish it. TBD if BoneClan is already planning on being a part of it!)

Nox stepped into the mouth of the cobalt whale, his own slightly agape as he took stock of his surroundings. Sure, the other groups he'd lived in had been cool, but wow. They'd been traveling for... how long now? He couldn't remember. But finally his paws felt like they were in the right place. He felt like he was home, and perhaps he could be something now.

The sick feeling in the pit of his stomach that he'd begun to associate with guilt made him grimace. He felt bad for what he'd done to Umbral, how he'd treated her. But after Xera he couldn't hardly look at her. He figured Canoris would've done a better job, fuck, she'd done a good job with all of his siblings except him. But his mother wasn't good for Umbral, and soon she'd come right back to him. He'd given her a way to live and found a way to love her, but before he could build the courage to ask her to stay with him and they could build something together... she'd said she was leaving. He couldn't try and dissuade her, not after she'd worked so hard, not after the shit job he'd done. So he'd encouraged her to go live her life... In his own way.

He sighed, bringing himself to the present. Now he was going around with this ragtag group of creatures he was slowly beginning to think of as friends. Friends. An odd concept that. One when he was younger he wouldn't let himself have, being too much of a dick to see the benefits. "Maybe here. Looks empty." How? why? He didn't know, but it sure felt powerful. Maybe that Dherog guy can help us out here. Because while Nox wasn't as much of a dick anymore, he still was most definitely ambitious. Perhaps that's why he actually thought following this god fellow might be advantageous for him.

"Odysseus the Calm, Marrubium the Talkative, Evadne the Beauty, Little Lotus and Brenton the Loser." Nox said as he padded up with a snarky grin plastered on his face. "I'm impressed, honestly." He said, looking around at the merged group, "You guys are making me feel like I'm in Sanguine Ruins or Shadow Veil with how many of you are gathered. Given our groups age... That's pretty good." He gave an amused huff and sat down beside Brenton, digging his claws into the squishy ground. Cool air swirled off of him and his slightly iced pelt.

"I'm Nox. It's a pleasure." He said with a more sincere grin. He wondered how awkward he was right now. He was still getting used to living among others as well, but honestly he felt more at home now that ever. Weird how when you finally found the right place, you just knew. "My fun fact..One time I killed a bird mid-flight with an ice spike. That was pretty fun." he didn't mention that it had fallen off the floating islands and he hadn't ever retrieved it. They didn't need to know that.

Nox gave a preliminary howl after settling himself deep within the cobalt whale. He expected Evadne would join beside him soon. After all the planning it was time for everything to come together. Hopefully things would settle in well and go smoothly from here on out . He was excited for the future.

"Ivoria! Gather for a meeting." Nox said after his howl. "I would say it is our first, but that would be a lie. Many of you here are from the great BoneClan, a group that has had meetings for ages, and to know you've accepted Ivoria as your new home means you believe what I believe: Ivoria has the foundation for something amazing, especially now that you are a part of it."

"Assuming you have all planned or completed your trial and have your mark, you are now Ivorians from here on. I am Nox, and with Evadne we are your Reapers." He gestured toward Evadne with a paw. Most of those below already knew her as leader, more probably already knew her name, but for the others it would be helpful. "As second in command, our Skull is Francium. Next in line our Fangs, Odysseus and Alucard. Evadne is filling in for Redeemer and teaching Lotus, our Redeemer Trainee. Titles have changed up a bit, so be sure to check those out. I won't be handing out any new ones this meeting.

"Next, I have a question to ask. We have our four stone whales we live in, and I think it would help if we gave them all designated names. What do you think we should name them?" It was kind of funny to imagine naming giant stone whales, but Nox thought it would be fun and beneficial.

He then looked to Evadne, in case she had anything to add.

Nox blinked wordlessly at Soren for a long moment, wondering if Umbral had possessed a younger form just to fuck with him. So much like his only child, Soren definitely had Nox's protection. Beyond that... Well ... He had been a terrible father. Not one of those terrible father's that actually did just fine but didn't feel good about it, no, he was one of those terrible fathers that abandoned his only kid with his own mother after watching his mate die. One who made up for that transgression after Umbral sought him out again by sending her off as soon as he could, alone, discouraging her the entire time.

Basically, he hoped Soren wasn't expecting much from him. "Stupid wet land for a silly little bird." Nox said, knowing full well Soren was very much not a bird. "When you goin' to learn to use those wings anyway?" He asked, attempting to lift one of the limp wings off the ground a bit with his paw before letting it go again.

He gave a small laugh when Brenton spoke. So far he'd liked the company of the wolf, but beyond that he wasn't sure what to think. "It still may not be. Keep an eye out." He turned to look at the rushing waters flowing around in a large circle, like a natural moat protecting a kingdom. "Water is powerful. These whales weren't put here by humans. There's strength beyond the natural here, and if we can harness it we'll be better off for it. Let's move together to check the insides."

He walked and put himself on his belly in front of Soren, "Climb on." He grunted, "We'll make sure it's secure and then find you food. Until then you can ride on my back."

Nox heard Soren's words and chuckled to himself as he turned to follow where her voice originated. That little shit had so much spunk it was impressive. He'd have to make sure it was managed well or he'd end up getting his head bit off by her when she was grown. He huffed at the thought, tail swishing to and fro contentedly, when his sight breached the horizon and he took in a breath.

His tail stopped moving, his muscles grew tense. The ice around his pelt became a bit thicker, crackling with the movement of his body as he breathed. Candela.

He'd thought about her often at the start, but eventually he was able to put her memory to rest and focus on what was in front of him. Now she was in front of him. The one he'd picked on, teased, and hounded as a child. Nox did not have a good family track record.

He went and stood beside Soren, "Thanks for stopping her. Nicely done." He said with little focus on his words. His eyes were on his sister, "Candela?" Stupid question. Of course it was her, she still had smoke billowing from her body. "What are you doing here?" what did she know?

He grimaced silently as he felt the wet mud soak into his fur, trying to turn off his ice elementals as best as he could so Soren wasn't freezing on him. It'd still likely be a bit more chilly than a regular wolf, and still, with each puff of breath frost clouds left Nox's mouth. His grunts were his only reply to the hesitant thanks Soren gave him. He'd expect her to pull her own when she was older, but there was no doubt she was exhausted. His own paws were beginning to feel like lead and he knew he'd be sore for a few days after this. He really did hope this was the last stop.

Nox nodded and chuckled at Brenton's last comment before walking further into the cobalt blue whale. His claws clicked on the stone beneath him. It may have been a trick of his eyes, but he could've sworn the ground seemed to glow faintly wherever he put his paw. This whole place seemed to thrum with energy. He grinned. "Well, this one's empty." And awesome.

Turning around, he took one last look before trotting out and on to the next whale. He went straight ahead into the mouth of the middle white one, slowing before stepping inside. This one had strange partitions, almost like rooms. "Careful, lots of hiding spots in here." He said back to Brenton before continuing his search. "Keep your eyes out." He told Soren. Everything was quiet until he neared the back, discovering a large room and hearing scuffles and angry growls. Laughter rose up from the noise and Nox pinned his ears back, lowering himself to the ground and gently shaking Soren off as quietly as he could before moving forward and sticking his head in the room.

He saw two jaguars messing with a calve of some sort. Ram? Deer? Fuck if Nox knew... something hooved. It was whimpering and its hooves clicked frantically against the stone as it tried to get away. The jaguars were playing with it. A child. His nose twitched as a cold fury lit within him. He'd spoken with the others about that one caveat to his no rules policy. Be it his mother's influence, his own guilt, or something else innate within him, Nox couldn't stand seeing children hurt. Whether the others agreed or not, Nox stood firm on that, and if any had doubts they'd see now how angry he'd get if a rule was broken. Two canines against two jaguars. It would've been a bit uneven if Brenton wasn't a giant ass dire wolf.

A low growl rumbled from Nox, echoing through the mostly empty whale. The jaguar's ears perked and turned, eyes wide with surprise at the intrusion. One reacted faster than the other, ears pinning back as it dropped into a fluid crouch before launching himself at Nox. Nox rolled to the side, fatigue making him slower than usual, and felt the jaguar's claws rip down his shoulder. Grunting, he put ice on his paws and slid around before promptly withdrawing it and finding his footing. He threw two quick ice spikes towards the jaguar, one hit a glancing blow and the other burst on the wall behind him, shattering into bright shining ice chips that rained down. When the jaguar was distracted, Nox jumped, digging his teeth into the thick hide of the jaguar's chest.

The other one was looking at him, getting ready to pounce, and Nox could only hope that Brenton showed up quick.

(Feel free to control the NPC leopards :P idc if they kill them/capture them)

If Evadne felt the need to protect Lotus, Nox's equivalent would be Soren... who he teased and tricked endlessly and received it back from Soren in turn. He looked down to the side at the little dragon, feeling that guilt he always felt when he was reminded how inept his parental skills were. He looked over to Lotus, cozied up to Evadne. Was the little blind kitten about to cry? Fuck. Great first impression, Nox. His lips twitched and his first thought was he hoped they found a backbone soon or it'd be hard living here. And then he remembered thoughts like that probably directly attributed to his shittiness as a father.

He sighed and stepped forward, drawing his paw in a circle in front of him and making a natural wreath of ice. The ice forged together in different arcs and twirls, an unpredictable but beautiful construction that Nox was honestly impressed with. He made a small ice trail towards Lotus, ending a bit before her, and pushed the crown along it. It slid and stopped at the end, right before Lotus' paws, in front of Evadne's unique tail. "[b]There's an ice crown at your feet, Lotus. It should fit you, if you'd like to wear it. It'll melt eventually, but will stay frozen longer than normal ice.

After the fact he felt stupid, it was probably a dumb measure and now he just wanted to leave and destroy something. But dipping after just joining a meet n greet didn't sound appropriate. I'm a leader now. He thought back to what he remembered of Aleksei. He hated that shithead, but he knew how to lead. Perhaps he should try and emulate some of the things he did.. it'd help a bit at least.

Fucking squirrels. Nox thought bitterly as he trudged along the territory. At least no one had been around to watch, that's all that really mattered. Giving a loud huff, Nox was getting ready to just head back to camp when he saw another squirrel oddly attentive towards something. He stilled and crouched, about to go for round two, when he saw the three gathered nearby. If it's a repeat performance..... No way am I doing it in front of them. He casually stood from his crouch and left the hunt, arcing around the squirrel and joining the three. Soren definitely seemed interested in something, and Nox was eager to get a closer look. Anything to distract him from his most recent humiliation. No one saw. It didn't happen. Be cool. "What's so cool over here?"

His mouth was a straight line, eyes bored, as Francium and Soren let him down hard. Then Brenton came in and at least tried. "They'll have names." Nox said, lifting his chin a bit with the firm decision. And just because the effort was there... "Aight, middle white one is Rick. We'll throw in Tim if no one else gives us something better..." He looked around to the others, very obviously wanting something better. When Lotus spoke up Nox couldn't help but chuckle a bit, "Alright then Lotus, what are we naming the one we're in? Big, empty, and dark." Surely a blind kid at least knew what "dark" was, right?

Ah, right, healing. Never interested Nox, so he hardly thought about it much. He knew it was important though and was glad Evadne brought it up. They seemed to cover the different extremes needed for a group, and honestly that would probably work out great. He nodded towards her and listened to Francium before saying, "I think putting it around where others are living will be good, easy access and all that jazz. Or it can be in its own whale, we can make one the like common center with shops and places for the kids to do whatever they want, indoor sparring, whatever else." He paused for a moment, "I think we should all collect bedding, I know you guys were used to human comforts, so maybe we can find a good substitute." He himself was planning to skin a deer, stuff it with goosefeathers, and have a wonderful bed, but he didn't want to make Lotus cry so he kept it to himself.

Nox watched Soren carefully from afar, that little dragon had spunk and Nox thought she was hilarous. She was a more... appropriate version of himself when he was that age. Just enough to tickle everyone's nerves, but not enough to ruin the cute. Too bad he hadn't been able to find that balance.

He himself jumped when Soren screamed - only a bit - but luckily it didn't look like any of them were facing him. He padded forward after the fact, ready to save Soren if Brenton decided to give her a well-earned swat. "Nice use of your wings, kid. You know they're supposed to be used to fly, right?" Obviously teasing, Nox continued in a more serious tone, "You know, I did teach a raven to fly, if you'd like to have a lesson come find me sometime."

Then Nox looked at the presumably wet Brenton, "What's got you out here today?" It wasn't like there was anything special going on, but what else was Nox supposed to say?

Nox padded back to camp, mouth a bit tinged pink from his meal a few moments ago, and sought out Brenton. He had a couple questions to ask the wolf and thought it pertinent to find him now. The Reaper was new to his job, but he'd seen some stellar examples of how it was supposed to be done. You could even say leading ran in his veins, as his mother, grandfather, and great great grandma had done it. Sure, one had abandoned her post, the other destroyed the world, and the last was posessed and controlled for most of it... but Nox had the best of all of their genes, and he knew it. "Brenton, where you at? Let's go talk."

no apologies >:| Nox's brow furrowed, "What fish?" He then shook his head, not letting himself dwell on the cryptic information too long. He didn't want to be derailed from his primary mission. He turned and walked back out into the twisting oak forest, paws crunching some of the fallen red leaves around him. "You helped me start this thing from the beginning, with Soren." But Soren was young, "And you've proven yourself so far. How do you feel about your ability to lead?" No reason not to get right to the point.

If Nox had been just a smidge more mature, he would've let the whole fish thing drop. He would've waved it away as nonsense and maybe followed up later if it was pertinent. But? He felt mocked. Not in the teasing sense, he knew Brenton didn't mean any harm, but he just felt... irritated with the whole thing. He stopped, ignoring the latter half of what Brenton had said as he turned and promptly sat, ears erect, "What fish." He asked, pelt crackling as a thin layer of frost rippled down his fur, misting off of him in the warmer air.

Nox's mouth was a firm line, brow slightly furrowed as Brenton gave his explanation. He was quiet for a time after Brenton spoke, but could only keep it going so long. He started chuckling eventually, bubbling out of his chest. "And you didn't stay to see who ate it?" If you couldn't reap the benefits of your prank what was the point? Nox shook his head, smiling.

"Alright then, I'll promote you to Skull at the next meeting." Nox said, returning to the main conversation. "Just remember to prank properly next time...."
