[size=10][font=georgia]Patrick padded over to the giant skeleton- ah, yes, he remembered the skeleton- to investigate what was going on. All he'd heard was some incoherent yelling, and, from what he'd learned, in this world that could mean anything. He was relieved and a little embarrassed to discover that it was just a little kit. Not wanting to look like a creep that was stalking the kid, the canine padded over, shouting in faux terror, "Oh no, what ever shall I do! This giant predator's trying to capture me! Ahhhh! Who could possibly save me?" Kane really didn't mind kids- he knew tons of people found them annoying, and he could definitely see why, but he was a kid once and liked to imagine things too, so he could kind of relate. Couldn't everyone? (Mobile)

[size=10][font=georgia]sorry, i can't make the thread atm! my laptop just spontaneously stopped working, and i'm gone somewhere with no wifi until monday (canadian thanksgiving) >_< using phone data atm

[size=10][font=georgia]"Well, welcome aboard, then," Patrick greeted the male with a warm smile. He could tell that the joiner was quite nervous, and he could relate. Getting thrown into a place you know nothing about and having to live a 'new life' was even harder than it sounded. "Name's Patrick Kane." The male tried to relate this scenario to one he'd faced before. Just treat it like there's a new guy on the team. "So, uh, you need anything?"

[size=10][font=georgia]Were all dogs natural swimmers? Patrick had sworn he'd heard that before, but didn't know if it was a myth or not. Throwing himself into a large body of water in a strange new body was definitely not high on something he wanted to try, at least on his own, but this would probably be safe. The Australian cattle dog padded over. "I could use some lessons!" he barked with a grin.

[size=10][font=georgia]"Woah! That's... Quite a breeze," Patrick commented, quite confused as to what everyone was talking about. He hadn't seen the broom- only the leaves, and it didn't look too out of the ordinary to him. Telekinesis? As much as he tried to be surprised, from everything he'd seen of this world, there wasn't much that surprised him? Confused him? Definitely, but he had pretty much expected to be confused at this point. "What's next? An AK-47 wielding gorilla?" Okay, now that would be pretty awesome.

[size=10][font=georgia]brendan gallagher almost got one- buffalo had an empty net at the end and he already had two goals, but he couldn't get the puck in :(. oh well, a 4-1 victory is still awesome! it sucks that price wasn't starting though

[size=10][font=georgia]aw, that sucks. were they playing a good team? because buffalo isn't a very good team, and they were missing their star player (eichel), which is probably why montreal won by so much cx anyways, they're playing nashville tomorrow, right? i'll be watching that game bc i can't quite let go of pk subban...

[size=10][font=georgia]oh yeah, thanks for shaw! hope you guys could make good use out of those draft picks! (although i'm not sure what 'good player' means, bc he's a solid third liner/ok second liner, but no superstar or anything haha) i was nervous about weber and radulov (okay i was actually mostly hyped about him, but still) but they both seem to be solid players! i'll always miss pk tho...

[size=10][font=georgia]oh, shaw just got suspended for a few preseason games, nothing really. he does seem like quite the instigator... which is weird, considering that a pretty believed theory is that subban got traded largely due to his attitude, but now montreal has players like shaw and radulov haha. here's the video btw, i thought it was pretty hilarious how he asked to crowd to cheer cx

[size=10][font=georgia]On the contrary, Patrick didn't quite know what to do with himself. He wasn't very skilled at anything anymore, it seemed. He almost didn't want to join patrols out of fear or ruining everything for everyone else. The last thing he wanted to be was that one guy. He hadn't talked to Jonathan too much since arriving, which made things between them even more awkward. They weren't on the best terms when Kane had left, and they hadn't really talked it out yet.

Seeing his friend, Patrick managed a half smile. He wondered if he should try 'skating' on the ice rink and inevitably embarrassing himself. Skating with paws felt weird to him- it wasn't his forte. "Glad to see you've finally got the 'A'," he said to Toews, a reference, of course, to the 'A' that alternate captains of hockey teams wore on their jersey. "Hopefully you'll earn the C again- you definitely deserve it."

[size=10][font=georgia]This guy certainly looked ready to go for anything, although he was probably just being cautious. Having lived on his own for a long time, Patrick understood the need to do that. Padding over, the canine sat down and waited for an answer, since the stranger kind of seemed like a 'cut straight to the chase no nonsense' type of guy.

[size=10][font=georgia]Oh, right, some people are human food. Patrick saw the baskets of food and instinctively wanted to eat some of the treats, but was stopped by a thought before he could. Chocolate, dogs and cats... Wasn't it toxic to them? Like, possibly deadly or some crap like that? Whether it was or not, he specifically remembered chocolate being bad for dogs and cats, and the thought made him uneasy to try any of the other foods. What if there were other ingredients that were fine to humans, but not dogs? "Hey," the canine said to Woodenkit. "Uh, I'd stay away from the stuff with chocolate in it." Was leaving random baskets of stuff normal in this world? It seemed pretty sketchy to him.
    Edit: ninja'd cx

[size=10][font=georgia]Kane smiled after Toews' response. Jonathan always seemed like such a humble guy, something that Patrick wished he could be sometimes. Kane had a hard time controlling his temper, which could lead to quite a few bad things, including the fight he got into with Toews a while back. He supposed he should address that now. If he got it out of he way, things wouldn't be all that awkward anymore, would they?

The canine took a deep breath, and began. "Hey, man, I just want to say... sorry. About what happened before. I hope we can both put it behind us and just be friends like we used to be. Back in the good 'ol days." How would Jonathan take that? Would he be angry at him for mentioning it? Did Kane just screw up their friendship even more? He hoped not. He'd already messed up enough in this life- he wanted to start fixing what he'd broken.

[size=10][font=georgia]"Hey, they even got your big head right!" Patrick said in a joking tone as he approached. He was sure that him and Toews would not be forgotten so soon in the human world- they were probably presumed dead, which was pretty grim. It was weird seeing human stuff when you were an animal. Patrick could understand why they thought humans were weird- they lived such drastically different lifestyles, and so many different things were considered the norm.
