She nodded in response to the girl's words, glancing up at the sky. "Mm, as do I, although it'll likely only get cloudier from here out, since winter is on its way." Her coppery gaze lingered on the blue yonder for a few moments longer, before she returned it to her clanmate once more. "It's good to meet you, Princess Selena." Diana fell silent as others began to approach. Dixi was the only one she knew well, although a few struck her as familiar. That was good – she was getting somewhere. She offered them all a nod of greeting, allowing their own conversations to carry out.
The pale-furred serval pricked her ears upon hearing the call, trotting over to meet the source of the voice. Neptune, huh? Another planetary name. Could he be...? Ah, yes, he had a lot of siblings. Jupiter had to be one of them, especially given their shared species. Who had given them all such names? She found it cute, the idea of giving a litter themed names like that. Maybe I'll do the same, one day? She wasn't sure. Diana had always wanted to give her children traditional Targaryen names — it was only proper, and would make up for her own lack of one. Or Westerosi in general, at the very least. Certainly not one of those strange, two-part names that some clans seemed to favor; they were so odd to her.
"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Diana Targaryen," she said upon reaching the other, dipping her head. Tell him about herself? "I was born in Westeros, though I left after the death of my uncle." She looked away for a moment, frowning. "I was trained to be a dame there. That's about all I've got." The soft smile had returned to her lips, although it failed to reach her eyes.
She looked up at the sound of pawsteps in the sand, only to see Dixi walking past her. With a tilted head, she watched him approach the sea, watched as the waves lapped at his rosy paws.
Flicking her tail, Diana padded over to stand beside him, letting the cold water wash over her own feet. It was a refreshing feeling. "How is everything, Dixi?" said the dame, smiling. He was a nice kid; she quite liked him. Strange that he was nearing her height now, though, given the new form he had taken on so recently. It was more amusing than an irritation to her. "This place is beautiful, isn't it? I've never seen anything like it."
"Good to see you again, my princess," purred the serval as she approached, dipping her head respectfully upon stopping before the pair. "What are you painting?" Diana had never been one for the arts, nor had she ever cared to learn; as a young girl, she had devoted the majority of her free time to training and studying within the walls of Dragonstone. There had been no time to learn to paint or draw or anything else.
Her gaze then drifted toward the other, who she found to be unfaimiliar after a brief moment of study. "And what's your name? I'm Diana Targaryen."
Diana was quick to arrive upon hearing the Commander's call, and took a seat in the throne room to wait for the meeting to commence. As others streamed in, the dame studied her surroundings, especially interested in the paintings on the walls. It was a lovely space, this room. A good one to hold meetings in.
She listened quietly as Suga began with political talk, realizing that she was rather unfamiliar with all of that. At this point, the only thing she knew for certain was that SunClan was a pro-clan; the "good guys", as Sera had once put it. The serval nodded along, sitting straighter when her name was suddenly called for a shout-out. A pleased smile graced her maw, and she dipped her head. "Thank you, Commander." She then sought out Dixi and returned the smile, though her brows shot up at his own promotion. Warden? Wasn't that a bit much to take on for someone so young? After the initial shock had passed, she shook her head ever so slightly. The position seemed to be different here. What exactly it meant, she would have to look into. "Congratulations, Dixi."
Diana fell silent as more names were called, this time serving as introductions. "Welcome, everyone." So many little princesses and princes, she thought, but the more the merrier.
The girl seemed to be a bit stunned, taking a fairly long time to reply. Diana waited patiently, her youthful face devoid of irritation. Worry stood in its place, although it faded when Eden finally answered. She supposed it was only normal, this reaction, given what had just happened.
"Thank the gods," she said after a moment, a half smile tugging at her lips. "You scared me." In more ways than one. The serval shook her head. "Don't apologize, it's completely alright. I'm Diana Targaryen. Pleasure to meet you, princess." Eden seemed to have recovered quickly, which was good. "What're you doing, out and about? You going somewhere?"
diana was born in westeros and has lived there for most of her life, so she and jaelynn could meet, jae would obviously recognize her surname, and they could talk about that? shes been trying to avoid westeros ever since jaehaerys (her uncle) was killed, so she'd be kinda awkward/wary at first, but yeah
omg yes that'd be adorable
diana will honestly love it bc shes already attached to the sugarel kids
wanna have a thread for them?
"Thank you," said the dame, her voice carrying a note of pleasure. Her opinion on her given name often fluctuated; there were times when she appreciated it, for she knew it was rather lovely, although she often found herself desiring something else. A part of her wished Elyse had renamed her upon taking her in, but perhaps she didn't deserve a traditional Targaryen name, given her lineage. Diana wished the knowledge of her adoption hadn't stuck with her throughout her life, but how could it not? All the others in her House spoke of grandparents and brothers and sisters, all who had done great things. Diana had none to speak of. She supposed all of them were hers, but she had never known of them until others had brought them up. No one had confronted her about her heritage, but in her own mind, she had stuck out like a sore thumb. "I've always been fond of it."
The fact that he failed to recognize her ranking struck her as odd. Diana cocked her head. "It's the female equivalent of a knight," she told him patiently. "So we do everything that they do. We just have a different name. Some knights and dames swear themselves to a House, but I decided to serve the kingdom as a whole." Elizabeth Blair had done so for the Targaryens, she recalled. She had been a kind woman and a loyal one, even if she wasn't a Westerosi native.
She looked over at the trio of children as they arrived and introduced themselves, her smile slowly brightening. It seemed that she was more familiar with the youth of the clan than the adults, realized the serval with faint amusement. "You two both like art," she noted. "You should work together sometime. Princess Eden could help pick out the colors you use."
She woke up to numbness, but pain as well. It was a curious feeling, rather unsettling; with each movement, her aching body was flooded with an uncomfortable tingling sensation. A part of her wished to remain there, lying limp on the ground in a pool of blood, but the sounds of panic all around her were beginning to rouse the young dame.
Only when she heard her own name shouted out did the serval find it in herself to rise, though she nearly toppled over in the process. She just barely managed to catch herself. A gasp tore itself from her throat when it suddenly hit her, how cold it was. Gritting her teeth, Diana glanced upward, only to look away sharply, squinting to shield her eyes from the unexpectedly bright light. What on earth was happening?
Her labored breaths came out in visible clouds of vapor as her heart began to race, and with tense muscles she scoured the area around her. Only when she spotted her gladius, coated with blood, did she calm down somewhat. On shaky legs, she padded over to pick it up, and then assessed her own state. Her once pristine fur was spiked and stained crimson, slashed through with gashes and scrapes, and terribly dirty. That didn't matter, though. She could clean up later. First, she had to get to safety.
Suga was calling everyone, directing them to the pyramid. Drawing in a shaky breath, Diana began to limp after him, traveling as quickly as she could manage. People all around her were crying and injured and in a panic. It was difficult to look at, to listen to. Not that she had much of a choice in the matter.
"Eden," she mumbled at the sight of the sobbing child, her heart skipping a beat. Had she been the one to call her? She was fairly certain of it, though it was difficult to tell, given the fuzzy state of her mind. Someone was with her, evidently offering comfort, but she headed off in her direction all the same. "Eden," she said again, speaking around the sword gripped between her teeth. "We must hurry, and get inside. You'll see your mother and father then, I promise."
you can request it here :^)
ooh thats funny! yeah i dont think the ever met tho :0
i can make the thread for them, if you'd like!
Diana was lucky that she hadn't been so restricted as a child, otherwise she was certain she would have gotten into as much mischief as the Arcanium children. They were an adventurous bunch, that was for sure; she had met many of them already through catching them outside, in places where they evidently weren't allowed to be. At this point, she found it more entertaining than anything else.
For better or worse, Diana failed to recognize the child for the royalty she was; up until now, she had associated them all with a more kitsune-esque appearance. This one was bulky and more felid, lacking the telltale wings she had come to know well as a sign of the Arcaniums' most recent litter. Either way, the idea of children roaming alone didn't sit well with her, especially outside of the capitol; what if she were to be attacked by a predator, or an enemy? She could slip and fall, or trip on a rock, or...
Diana pushed the thoughts aside as she trotted over to the girl. "Hello, dear. What're you doing out here alone? Shouldn't you be asleep?"
Not only was her body aching now, but her heart began to as well as she watched the young girl weep and beg for her parents, asking desperate question after question. When Eden grabbed onto her foreleg, she gingerly placed her weapon on the ground, gently pushing it away so that the princess wouldn't harm herself by mistake. Then she wrapped her in a hug with her free paw. "You will see her soon," she murmured soothingly. "We're not going to die, but we must get inside, otherwise things will only worsen." Then she released Eden and picked up her sword once more, urging her on with a nudge. "Come, my princess." She ignored Eden's final inquiry, unsure of how to respond.
An amused smile danced across her lips as Eden hastened to explain herself. She let out a bit of soft laughter before speaking, cocking her head. "Did she now?" she asked wryly, as the Arcanium recognized her little mistake. Diana had never met Brynhild, frankly, although her identity was evident enough. "Well, that's in the past, I suppose." She sounded rather unconcerned about it, but what was she to do? Her words rang true. "I won't tell anyone."
Diana nodded in response to the invitation. "I wasn't doing much of anything really, so I'd love to," purred the dame. "Where would you like to explore?"
aah would you mind making it?
Westeros. The familiar scent of her old home left her feeling uneasy, as old memories she had been trying to set aside came to the front of her mind once more. Diana faltered, pausing in her stroll, wondering if it would be better for her to approach or continue on her way. She worried at her lip for a few moments, lost in thought, but curiosity eventually got the best of her. Fighting to keep her face even, she padded over to the border and paused beside Azazel.
Her eyes widened a fraction at the sight of the young dragon. Could he be...? The thought of coming face to face with a member of her own house only worsened her mood, but she still found herself greeting him as well, partially to test her theory. "Diana Targaryen," she introduced herself softly. "Welcome."
alrighty now that ive established her, i think its time to get a plot thread going! she's open to pretty much anything rn and her info is here.
also there was one plot that i had in mind?? where she kinda like attaches herself to the younger arcanium children bc shes already really friendly with a lot of them and kinda becomes their unofficial bodyguard/babysitter? idk i just think it'd be really cute fighfjkh
The sudden shout caught her off guard, as did the swear, and Diana paused in her walk. Wide eyed, she looked around in search of the source of the outburst, and it wasn't long before her brown gaze rested on a pair of clanmates, one familiar and the other not so much. "Is everything alright here?" she asked in bewilderment as she approached, eventually coming to a stop beside Angeldust. Nothing seemed to be out of sorts, although the catsune seemed less than pleased about something. Had Angeldust said something to upset him? She cast them a quizzical look.
