Being cooped up in a military base that his father was stationed at for a month now had the LA boy aching for some entertainment. Shifting from the semi-glamorous life of police captain in California to overgrown army brat put him in a perpetual state of agitation.
So the guy's mind began to wander to what else he could spend his time doing. Talking with his grandma was his first choice, since the woman had raised him and he always appreciated her company, but sadly, they'd run out of conversation topics a while back. The other soldiers on the base were his second choice, but they were filled with arrogance that had yet to be beaten out of them. He'd scoped the soldier boys out and conversed with a few of them to try and find any that were gay, but they were all dense blocks of flesh that were too dumb to hold his interest. He didn't want to spend his time fraternizing with the like, but they were all muscled and nice to look at on occasion. His third option was speaking with his father, whom he despised, and he was always busy.
Which brought him here, blaring classic rock in his father's SUV while he sped down a country road with the windows open. He should know not to speed, but with being on the police force, he'd adopted somewhat of a lead foot. He could almost feel himself lulling into a white-line fever of sorts, except that there were no white lines. Only dust, corn, blue skies, and more corn. He was just going for a drive to distract his bored mind, but he was subconsciously heading for a familiar home.
Once the farm house came into view, Gideon pulled the SUV into the long drive way and pulled his keys out of the ignition. He hopped out of the car and before he knew it, he was standing on Jacob's porch. Jacob- the blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty who put those buff army boys to shame. He blinked himself back to full consciousness and frowned at himself. What the Hell was he gonna do here? Regardless, he was bored and hadn't visited the farmboy's house for about a month (and besides the occasional bump-in at the grocery store, he hadn't seen him either) so he knocked and waited patiently in his beanie, and generally dark clothing.
